everything about the outside of the hotel (lobby, views especially, etc) was amazing. but the rooms were very plain and simple and lacking

My best friend and I spent two nights here in September 2024 as part of our trip. Staff was very courteous and the check-in process was very smooth. The premises were kept spotless and the surroundings were quiet. Our room in the Jagerhaus was just as pictured with a comfy bed, beautiful bathroom, and an incredible view of both castles. Parking was across the hotel in a secured lot and we had no issues...

The service was excellent overall, except during breakfast. The staff member at the egg station was unfortunately not friendly. I simply went over and politely asked for an omelette. In response, She loudly and rudely said, ‘Can’t you see the pan is still occupied?’ Other guests turned to look. I don’t understand why it wasn’t possible to respond in a polite manner.

We didn't know that this hotel is a Michelin star hotel until we got checked in. So we had tried all their amenities and services such as their gym and their restaurant and bar. Their restaurant has excelkebt food but food choices is limited. Their bar is beautifully design but lack of hotel guests because many of us have to wake up early to see the castles and hiking. The staff needs proper international training.

There are only 2-3 short-term parking spaces at the main entrance on Kreuzweg. The large, free main car park is somewhat inconspicuously signposted: access shortly beforehand via Alten Schwinkelweg, then turn left at the intersection of Kröb/Kreuzweg/Tassiloweg. It's easy to drive past the sign and then have to turn around. Directly at the large main parking lot, e.g. on the terrace of the cafeteria...

Beautiful hotel with excellent service. The view is amazing. I fully recommend this hotel. There are castles few minutes away that are must to visit and learn more about the history and the culture. The view on the Alps is surreal.

Beautiful location for relaxation or fitness. The choice is yours. The staff make you feel valued and special. The resort is outstanding for accommodation restaurant, sauna, swimming and exercise programs. I have visited 4 times and have enjoyed it so much every time.

Overall nice hotel. Decently pretty and wonderful, everything from amenities to service is also tip-top. I like the surrounding parts a lot, you feel kind of enclosed in a good way yet still free. I will probably be back many times in the coming years.

I felt very comfortable and well looked after: good therapists, nice room, delicious, varied food, nice staff, great landscape! Although the daily routine was fairly well-paced with treatments and meals, the rehab felt like three weeks of vacation.

Our second stay at Rübezahl. The atmosphere, the attention to detail, the staff, the food and the spa were excellent the first time. This time they were even better! The views of, and the walking in, the foothills of the Alps are tremendous. A wonderful, relaxing stay - we will return.

Charming boutique hotel with excellent food and service and stunning views of the nearby scenery. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious. This was our second time staying here in 6 years and it did not disappoint. We will stay again if we're in the area.

Highly recommend this beautiful resort. View of the castles, excellent service, outstanding food. The bartender made excellent cocktails. She created drinks just for us. We thoroughly enjoyed the wellness area and outdoor spa and pool.

Das Ruebezal was an excellent experience! The food was fantastic, the staff was exceptional, and Adly the bartender is a master bartender! The rooms were excellent and you can’t beat the views. Would highly recommend especially during the winter.

This is an amazing property nestled in the valley below Neuschwanstein castle. It’s a few mins drive to the darling town of Fussen with quaint shops and nice restaurants. I visited for four days at the beginning of November with my wife and two adults daughters. We found the hotel very comfortable, the staff very nice, and the food excellent. I highly recommend the hotel as a base for days visiting Neuschwanstein Linderhof, and Fussel. Unfortunately, our guide at Neuschwanstein was very robotic, but that was not the hotel's fault.

We arrived late in the afternoon and the staff recognize me as soon as I talk to her. They have private parking place and offer free parking. The room is clean and comfort to stay. Very nice breakfast and the staff is super nice and warm. We also tried their sauna and have good rest after a long day in Neuschwanstein. The only thing you need to note is that there's about 20 mins walk without a car...

This was one of our favorite hotels on our European trip. Just what we wanted for German style and ambience. The rooms were clean, nicely decorated, well located near Neuschwanstein and the Tegelberg bahn. The breakfast was phenomenal! Great location, nice room with a comfortable bed and bathroom. We also had a nice balcony with a small view of the castle. Breakfast was nice with hot eggs and cold cereal, yogurt, buns, meats and cheeses. There was free parking, but no elevator, so the trek up to the fourth floor with luggage was not fun.

Drove down from Munich for a few days here. There are a few parking spaces out the front but also more along the side of the hotel. The man who checked us in was friendly and efficient. This was one of the best hotels we have stayed in Europe! The views of the mountain and castle were spectacular. We LOVED the room! It was super cute, functional, and clean! The breakfast was delicious and everyone was super kind. If we are ever in the area, we will definitely stay here again!

This lovely hotel is centrally located near Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein castles. Convenient to a grocery store and Fussen. The service here is amazing and the breakfast buffet offers many options. Be sure to checkout the restaurant!

I had seen this hotel hundreds of times so we decided to stay here this time for our week in Schwangau. It definitely didn’t disappoint. We booked three standard rooms at a very reasonable rate and we were largely very happy. Ok, the two singles, while good rooms looked out on the very busy street and had the evening sun.. so our teens were hot n bothered ! Our room was looking out on the other side...

Only had a late lunch here, so can't comment on the accommodation. Super friendly staff and really tasty food with lots of local specialities on the menu. Slightly on the expensive side for what it is.

Very nice hotel in the small town of Schwangau. Very friendly staff. If you arrive by bus, there is a bus stop just across the street. My only complaint is, since there is no air conditioning (normal for Europe) I slept with the windows open and I could here patrons at the small Italian restaurant across the street on their patio as late as 02:00 (2:00am)

Good roons, excelent service. Honest breakfast. The only down is that the room can take 2 persons only.

Fantastic views, and everything was adequate. I especially liked the roll down zombie defense window protection on the windows. Yes, the is really a roll down metal shutter on each of the windows in our room. I have no idea why, but I have never felt safer sleeping in a hotel. The only negative thing I can think of is the shower. There was a hand held shower head, but the only mounting place for it...

Spent one night at this small, quite and charming Inn very Neuschwanstein Castle, next to a crop farm. Seems to ran by a family that also operate the kitchen. (English menus are available). Large clean room with large bathroom. Nice staff. Nice location. Only negative was no extra blanket in the room. We like to sleep with the room cool, so the 2 twin size blankets (1 for each of us) left us a bit cool.

The hotel is located right next to the Forggensee. Some rooms offer a view over the lake, but some don't. The rooms themselves were very tidy and spacious, though a bit old-fashioned. There is a restaurant that serves local dishes and drinks. The outdoor seating is quite limited for a hotel this big. The breakfast buffet was located indoors, but I found it pretty basic and unsophisticated.

I never was in the hotel but Restaurant it's excellent... friendly personal, perfect classic food in Bavarian kitchen style...

Great small room,for me,there are bigger rooms too. The food and staff very helpful. There is a short walk up the lake and other restaurants near by. Please stay a few days to unwind enjoy the people,the foods,the views and the fresh air.

I specifically chose this place for my stay during an weekend as it was closer to St Coloman, where I planned for a morning Photography session. The whole check in was contactless and we'll coordinated through messages. The Hotel also has a dining room at ground floor, which I didn't use. The rooms, stairways are all traditional style and great for the aesthetic sense. Close to the Schwangau Rathaus...

I am very glad that I chose this hotel for my visit to Neuschwanstein Castle. We stayed in the best room of this hotel with a balcony and a view of the castle right from the bed. This makes the trip even more romantic and truly special. The hotel staff is also very friendly.

Incredible little hotel with friendly staff, a great location, and perfect views of Neuschwanstein castle. I stayed with my partner for a few nights and we were initially worried about not having a car, but the bus from Füssen bahnhof drops off right next to the hotel. we are business travellers and during Sunday in Europe, so we choose to visit the Neuschwanstien and this hotel is just few kilometers nearby. The room is easy to check-in, clean and quiet. There's many restaurants around so there's no problems for eating

The property was in a beautiful area with a great view of Neuschwanstein and a short drive to the parking for both Hohenschwangau and Neuschwantein Castles. There is a restaurant on site with limited hours but breakfast was fantastic with a good variety. There is an additional fee but well worth it!. As we were always out and about all day, we were unable to make it for dinner but it is available...

While walking around the neighborhood we found a lovely park which was the trailhead to several hikes, and had a great lookout point to see the entire area. The location is amazing. Quiet, near the lake and not far away from Schwangau. Near you can find a pony farm and buy local food from farmers. The room is clean, service 5+, breakfast is really good. A little bonus, there is a small kitchen, so if you need to cook something it's really easy.

Perfect Stay. Very warm and welcoming Staff/Hosts. Nice Rooms with Balconies full of flowers and relaxing possibilities. Very nice breakfast with lost of healthy & self made stuff. Beautiful backyard for kids. 1 Minute to the lake. Some rooms are even extraordinarily spacious and well equipped. A small kitchen for quick self service.

We liked our stay in here mainly thanks to proximity to castles and Fussen by walking distance. Room was cozy and clean, bfast very good as well.

We didn't stay here but I would assume its excellent 👌 as well. We did have dinner here after our trip to Hohenschwangau Castle. The service was great and friendly and many locals visit its restaurant from what we witnessed. The food was excellent 👌 and portions are large and reasonably priced. The beers 🍻... oh so good 👍 😋. A must try as well. Atmosphere...typical Bavarian. 👍

The hotel was close to the castles and to Fussen for dinner and drinks at night. The room was clean and accommodating, but the manager was a tad rude. When we first walked in he would not even acknowledge our presence, but then some German's came in and he seemed to warm up a bit.

Stayed here September 2017. Klaus the owner is awesome. Great sense of humor, he was shocked that we had 3 Siberian huskies! The location is pretty much unbeatable, you are right down the road from the castles and can see them on a beautiful short walk from the inn.

Landhotel Guglhupf felt like home. I loved how they paid attention to detail not only in the varied choices of delicious food they serve for breakfast but also in how lovingly they set the tables. I will never forget the breathtaking view of the majestic mountains that greeted us every morning.

Great views of the castles and mountains, and a great location. Breakfast was very good. A little too much road noise at times, and difficulty seeing both ways to leave the driveway and enter the highway.

Absolutely amazing! The service was on top, we felt welcomed and appreciated. The breakfast was stunning, the rooms were clean and had a lot of space. When we came back to the room it was cleaned, the bed was made and our clothes was folded. Just an amazing place to stay! Highly recommend it!

Nice, clean, quiet, friendly staff. Easy to get there with public transportation and it is close to the Castle and to the König Kristall Therme.

Pros: A simple hotel with all the necessities - free parking, comfy bed, nice bathroom, mini fridge in the room, free wifi, a tv with satellite, great continental breakfast, quiet, not far from a Rewe by foot and only 3min by car from Schloss Neuschwanstein. Cons: no air conditioner; the price list states that for 115€/night the room should have a balcony but ours didn't
