Sauerland Stern Hotel in Willingen

Old fashion furniture in the rooms , and could here every movement and noise in the rooms next to me.
Location and views are amazzing

Arrived without a booking and was able to get a family room. First room they gave us was not made up. Second room they gave us was dirty gooey stuff on wardrobe, splashes up the walls and around the light switch .No coffee or tea. Housekeeping came and said, they had lots of parties. He said he would report it. Cleaned the marks stocked the coffee and left. For the price of the hotel, this is not what we expected. Our friends room was also a family room and not made up . He had to go down to reception 2 imes over various issues. I can't recommend this hotel and I would suggest you cook elsewhere. I gave it 3 stars because the view was ok and there's free parking. We also got a little welcome gift of cards and some dice which was a nice touch.

I would love to give 5 stars but it’s the little details missed that really leave me unable to do so. I have never encountered a 4 star hotel which doesn’t contain a single iron to freshen up your clothes. No laundry services available on site unless you want to practically double the price of your stay for laundry service. But on to the good. The restaurant and service there was prompt and professional. The facilities are maintained although it seems a bit dated overall. Not a problem for me but I’m confused by the self proclaimed 4 star status. Absolutely loved the view from the balcony. Grateful for the elevators but I’m not sure why they are so remarkably slow. A little patience will suffice. Had a good cappuccino. Public bathrooms were tidy and plenty. Conference room was fantastic. Beds were comfortable. Beautiful walking trails nearby. Many outdoor activities available. Beautiful pool. Just the little things as noted before. But I’m not German and this is my only hotel visit in Germany. So I can only rate my experience based on travels to other European countries. Thank you for another great visit Sauerland.
