Hestia Hotel SPA

I stayed in Hestia Hotel Haapsalu Spa to work on an assignment and it was brilliant. The room was exceptional with inspiring sea view and the leisure activities gave my brain some rest when it was needed. The place was pricey, but worth it.

We loved this property so much that we extended our stay. Rooms.are well appointed and comfortable. Staff are so friendly and welcoming. Spa treatments were lovely. Easy walking to nearby cafes, restaurants and some shopping.

Ideal location for the hotel. Near the promenade, the old town, the marina. The hotel rooms are simple but clean. Good WiFi. The spa complex was nice. Breakfast is rich. There was no problem with parking. We had a wonderful holiday.

A gorgeous location and a nicely re-done Hestia. The surroundings really invite you to go for an evening walk.

Spa was very busy and some maintenance could be done (birch branches had very little leaves...) but all in all a high standard Estonian spa. Loved the mud facial and steam rooms!

Restaurant menu lacks a bit of imagination. Food was ok but compared to other hotel restaurants we've been to in Estonia, Hestia Haapsalu needs a new head chef.

Breakfast was SO GOOD. The pancakes were the type you never get in a buffet, heavy and juicy, please never change this!

Our room was the smaller type and while we got what we paid for it could do with some hooks here and there to hang items.

We stayed here for seven nights in May as our base for a birdwatching tour of the region. I had looked at the hotel's website in advance of our visit and to be honest it didn't look anything special. Our experience was much better than this and we were delighted with our stay. The rooms are functional but very comfortable, befitting a spa experience. There was plenty of storage space, a very comfortable bed, a spacious bathroom with a good shower and very good air conditioning, which was very welcome in the unexpectedly hot weather. The dining room was very spacious and the breakfast offering was very good with a large choice of well prepared food and drinks; this was definitely a great start to a long day in the field. We ate dinner here a couple of times and, whilst the menu was a little limited, the quality was great. The position of the hotel is very good, being a short walk from the old town and on the edge of a nice lake, used by many people for recreation and with a good circular walk to gain a little exercise. There are extensive spa facilities in the hotel, available free to residents. Unfortunately we weren't able to take advantage of these as we were too busy but those whom did said that they were very enjoyable and invigorating. This is a very nice hotel and, if we were to visit Haapsalu again we would certainly want to stay here.
