Reviews
However, several aspects of the stay were less satisfying. The pillow was too thin — suitable only for sleeping on the stomach, which isn’t considered healthy — while the additional pillow was too hard and high. The breakfast is quite basic, worth around €6: it includes coffee, juice, bread, a roll, butter, jams, cheese, salami, croissants, and cake. There are no eggs or any hot dishes.
There was no trash bin in the room, only a small one in the bathroom. On the first day, there was no bag in it, though from the second day there was. Towels that were hung up were not replaced, only those left on the floor, even though there was no sign indicating such a policy. There’s a kettle with tea bags in the room, but once I used them, they were not replenished during cleaning.
The walls are thin, so anyone who is a light sleeper might find it hard to rest — you can hear toilet flushing or hair dryers from the neighboring rooms, and morning cleaning can be disturbing if you’ve had a late night.
Overall, the price mainly reflects the convenience of the location and easy access to attractions, but the overall value for money is rather low compared to other hotels in the city that offer more for a lower price.
The front desk staff were exceptionally kind and professional. Only one person was on duty that evening, and despite a busy environment, everything was handled with calm and care.
The room was clean and practical. No carpet, which makes hygiene and cleaning easier. The bed and linens were spotless, and the bathroom was simple but fully functional. Some details such as the curtains are a bit dated, which is fine for a one-star hotel.
The only serious issue is the pricing. Charging 170 euros per night for a one-star room that would normally cost 70 or 80 euros is hard to justify. I understand that hotels follow market trends, but this practice contributes to a wider problem in Barcelona: inflated prices that hurt both visitors and local residents. The city is actively trying to find balance again, and every hotel owner plays a part in that.
When I mentioned this at reception, I was told that other hotels are doing the same. That argument misses the point. True responsibility means setting your own standards instead of copying what others do. Profit is part of business, but respect for guests and for the community should be part of it too.
Overall, the staff were wonderful and the cleanliness was very good. But I sincerely hope the ownership reflects on the long-term impact of its pricing choices. A fairer approach would help both the reputation of this hotel and the image of Barcelona as a city that values integrity and hospitality
I booked a bit blindly as it's my first trip to Barcelona, so I wanted to be close to the port. However, I was blown away, location is perfect! Close to La Rambla, and even though it's so close to the hustle and bustle it was quiet and peaceful by the hotel. The rooms are spotless, and really not tiny, so very worth the stay!
Happy there was an elevator! The bed was comfortable. Heat and AC worked well. There is a safe in the room. The room itself was a decent size.
The breakfast (6€) wasn't worth it because it had very few options. Housekeeping kept taking one of our keys, since we had to leave one in the wall to turn on the electric in the room. We had to have the front desk replace it several times. Housekeeping also took place very late in the day, often times after 15:00, which meant we would have to leave the room in the middle of siesta. The television in the room is extremely small. I really wish there was any counter space in the bathroom (besides just the area around the faucet), and a full length mirror in the room.
The hotel will email you all information for checking in. I recommend completing check in online before you get to the hotel.
Bonus point: the receptionist speaks French and there are also French tourists.
Downside: the wifi ... we didn't get a good signal on the top floor
