1. Both rooms on 8th floor smell of drainage
2. Noise all day and all night from outside. We were 2 rooms on the 8th floor, this difficult to sleep
3. Maintenance fixing corridor door at 1am and Even though it is a pet friendly hotel they pretend that dogs don.t bark. The dog barked because maintenance during the night and they called us to stop the dog from barking!
5. The front receptionist during mornings was very rude from day 1 till the end of our visit. When we told him that we speak English he said we should learn Spanish when in Spain. Also he said that we left the room dirty when this was not true. Checkout at 12 and the maid remained behind the door waiting for us to leave at 9am even though I told her we need more time! and then she complained that we left the room dirty. Obviously this is a pet room! He talked behind our backs with other guests complaining that our dog is not behaved! This is marketed as a pet hotel.
6. Balconies terraces not clean, ants in the room so could not give the pet anything to eat because any pet food will be full of ants in minutes! Even though maid cleaned the room, balcony was not cleaned. On day 1 we also found it not clean!
7. Room shakes at times due to train underground. Feels as if you are in an earthquake every time the train passes
8. It is not safe especially at night time because it is in the middle of clubs. One club is next to hotel.
9. The shower curtain fell the moment we tried to open it!
10. One of the rooms did not have any curtains and due to high mixer water pressure every time we washed water splashes everywhere in the room. Obviously we had to wipe with towels!

We stayed for 6 nights and we were a group with 10 rooms. So we experienced the stay total differently one from the other:
The location is great if you want to feel the vibe and the night life of Barcelona, but if you want to relax it will be a terible experience.
The noise from The Rambla can be easily heard up to the 5th floor, because the windows are clasic and they provide little protection agains noise. So in the lower levels you feel like you sleep in the street...and yes some times you can feel vibrations from the metro.
The arhitecture of the hotel is very strange and many rooms do not have any kind of sunlight because they do not have any windows. I am not joking: NO windows of any kind. The furniture is very old and it was a cheap furniture from the beginning so the rooms have a moldy aspect and many defects including the front doors so be very carefull because you might leave the door open by mistake.
Also when we stayed there it was a bad smell in the hotel, especially in the lower levels.
We did not had any problem with the cleanness of the room, but some of our friends were not so lucky, so i think it is a problem with some of the cleaning staff: some are doing their jobs some dont and this is the biggest problem that they fix very fast.
They have some other small problems but they are relative from person to person, like: they are under staffed so the services are very slow, the food at breakfast is ok, but very limited in options, oooh and the elevator is terrible, like it has a mind of it's own: it stops at every floor regardless if the people there want to get down or up, i have not met this problem in a very long time so it was strage for me, but we were never in a hurry so we had some fun visiting and revisiting people on different levels on our way down from 7th floor.
So as a conclusion: if you are young and dont bother much with the quality of the room and want to party, it is ok due to it's location wich is great, but if you want a relaxing stay with the family you better not go there because it will be a terrible experience.

Sooooo, i slept very poorly at this hotel!! Location is awesome, right next to a very lively and busy walking street with many restaurants and shopping to do... But, the room is poorly isolated and we can hear the party and talking and shouting all night long (until 5am at least)... But worst for me, was the a/c blowing cold air right on our bed, from the ceiling!!! Cut it off, it's too hot!! Turn it on, it's too cold!!! There was many other details that i didnt like, but those two were the worst!!...

Located at the port end of the Ramblas, great location. Reception is small and can be busy with only one person dealing with guests. We were on the 9th floor in a terrace room overlooking the west of Barcelona, with a small table and 2 chairs.
The room was very basic but clean & tidy with a safe. No toiletries in the bathroom.
It's a cold buffet breakfast with cheese, yoghurts, meats, pastries & bread and a toaster.
Whiel we stayed at the hotel, the service was good. We were there prior to joining a cruise so on boarding day, we checked out, went for a walk and decided to stop at one of their tables outside the hotel on the Ramblas. Service was good and we tipped 10% but the waiter made it very clear that he expected a bigger tip, very rude.
The room was very basic but clean & tidy with a safe. No toiletries in the bathroom.
It's a cold buffet breakfast with cheese, yoghurts, meats, pastries & bread and a toaster.

NO A/C. My friend and I stayed here 2 nights in May and the room was extremely hot, unbearable to the point where we were sweating and had to sit in the lobby to cool off. We asked for a fan or a room change, and were given nothing. They said we could PAY to change to a more suitable room with windows. By the way, most rooms don’t have windows, and we were not aware of this when booking. The location is great, but I would NOT recommend this place under any circumstances. They need to get fans or fix the air conditioning.

This is an extremely noisy hotel! You can hear so many other people in their rooms, the elevator bangs constantly and sounds like and airplane taking off in your room. It souds like some one roller skating overhead. Its Summer: The Air conditioning does NOT work in the entire building. Kids screaming.
The attendants a very nice and helpful. We are 2 married people and got placed in a really large room with 4 twin beds.

our stay at the Ramblas Hotel was unforgettable, largely due to its unbeatable location and cleanliness. Right in the heart of Barcelona's vibrant streets, the hotel allowed me to soak up the city's lively atmosphere and beautiful nights right from my room. While the breakfast was standard and the rooms small, these were minor details compared to the overall experience. The hotel's charm, friendly staff, cozy bar, and unique street-side dining offered a genuine taste of Barcelona. Its proximity to the sea and picturesque streets further enhanced my stay. If you value location and a welcoming environment over room size, the Ramblas Hotel is an excellent choice. I was there in 2016 too and if I want to have another trip to Barcelona I will reserve this hotel again.

In relation to price, you get great value for money! Really good location, nice view from balcony, good service at reception, good breakfast with freshly squeezed juice and nice selection of breakfast. The rooms are better than what else I have tried in the same price range in other countries. There is heating, and nice bathroom with the things you need. Super with small fridge! The beds are very hard but have slept well anyway. The Rambla makes less noise than I expected. All in all is really nice hotel!
