Catalonia Born Mini-hotel

Absolutely loved my stay at Hotel Catalonia Born, primarily because of the staff and exceptional service. They truly made me feel warm, welcome, and taken care of. Facilities are clean, turn down service is regular, and the space is well maintained. It is an excellent location only a 25 min walk to the beach, right by the Arc de Triumph, and within walking distance of many attractions and excellent restaurants. I did not get a chance to utilize the pool or other insight amenities, but look forward to that on my next visit.

I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel for two weeks, splitting my time between late June and mid-July. My first week was fantastic, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The beds were comfortable, the service was great, and the rooms were spotless.

Unfortunately, my second stay in a different room was a bit disappointing. I had a frustrating "up your game" moment when I discovered a cockroach and some small bugs in my bathroom. After reporting it, the night staff's response was to hand me a spray bottle and tell me to "spray around yourself." Although I took care of the bugs, I requested the next day that they send someone to handle the issue properly. Regrettably, no one was ever sent to follow up.

Even with the bug problem, I still feel positive about the hotel overall. Its location is perfect—quiet and peaceful, making it an ideal base for exploring Barcelona or staying for a week or two for a summer school at places like BSE. The breakfast isn't huge, but it has all the essentials, including fresh food, cereal, meat, cheese, and jelly.

A really nice hotel with a very good location. It was clean and the staff was really helpful and friendly. The pool area is very nice but rather small. Nice with the gym. We were bothered by some noice in the corridor at night but when complaining to the staff they talked to the people it right away. I would definitely stay here again.

The rooms are lovely and clean. The staff, from front desk to maids are wonderful and responsive. They are very accommodating when you make a request for an extra towel, blanket, or other requests. I loved the location. It sits in a quieter section of town that is very comfortable for strolls. There are many stores, coffee shops, and restaurants within a block or two of the hotel. There are also multiple attractions within easy walking distance from this hotel. In addition, getting a bus or hopping on the metro to travel further afield is only a block away. We purchased a 72 hour travel card for our stay. The card is good for any mode of public transportation and was well worth the purchase. All in all, I would highly recommend the Hotel Catalonia Born for a lovely stay in Barcelona.

Fantastic Stay in Barcelona – Highly Recommended!

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Barcelona! From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready with great recommendations and assistance. The hotel itself was spotless, with excellent housekeeping ensuring everything stayed immaculate throughout my visit.

One of the highlights was the amazing European breakfast – a wide selection of fresh pastries, cheeses, meats, and great coffee to start the day. The location was also perfect, making it easy to explore the city's top attractions, restaurants, and public transport.

Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations, and I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Barcelona!

We were moved here at an extremely last minute move from another Catalonia hotel so we had not chosen this hotel to start with. I would say it is a decent hotel- rooms were very clean and looked after every day so 5* for the cleaners. Staff friendly and made my birthday extra special with a little surprise! The rooftop terrace was a lovely place to relax and swim in. As other people had said though the noise isolation wasn't the best, as you can hear when other people are showering and using the bathroom.

Not only was Hotel Catalonia Born able to find us two rooms (last minute) at 6:30 pm one evening, the rooms and hotel were within our budget, super clean, quiet and located in a fantastic area of Barcelona. The hotel offered the best service we could have asked for. We are especially grateful for Raquel, at the front desk, for her friendly help during a stressful time. Thank you!

Great location. The blackout curtains worked really well! The maids made up the room every day. The receptionists and bartender were really friendly. I highly recommend this hotel.

My husband and I stayed here for the beginning of our trip to many cities in Spain. The hotel was in a perfect location for exploring the beautiful El Born neighborhood. Our room was very comfortable and larger than I expected for a European city hotel room. We also enjoyed the dip pool on the deck and the gym. Reception at the hotel was also wonderful. Highly recommend for a stay in Barcelona.
