Vincci Gala Mini-hotel

If you label your hotel as 4-star, proper soundproofing should be a basic expectation. I was placed on the first floor and had to endure nonstop noise from the lobby, the underground subway, and even the snoring from the room next door. The walls are that thin. I had to sleep with earplugs all three nights just to get any rest. For a jet-lagged traveler, this was an exhausting and unacceptable experience.

This ‘hotel’ doesn’t even fulfil its basic function which is to provide customers with a room to sleep in. The rooms on the front are on a busy main road with ambulances going past and a metro rumbling underneath. The rooms on the back of the hotel don’t have functioning air conditioning. Don’t trust the glossy pics - the ‘hotel’ looks nothing like this. It’s a trashy 3 star ‘hotel’ charging 5 star prices. Do yourself an favour and avoid this ‘hotel’ and all the others in the crappy Vincci chain.

UPDATE: the front desk did manage to find us a room at the back with air conditioning that worked for our 2nd night. They also partially refunded our previous night's stay. So credit to them for doing that. However the rooms have a sound insulation issue, which could be simply overcome by using the fan of the aircon as 'white noise', which doesn't seem to be possible with the existing aircon system.

Its a very low budget hotel. Cheap branding and products. The pool, rather the bathtub is way to small for these temperatures. The company should invest in worker's well being and adapt the uniform I suffered watching the waiters work. Not to mention the hygiene.

DO NOT come to this hotel, simply everything absurd that could happen in a hotel happened here. First they put us in a room that smelled like sewage, yes you read that right, the bathroom had a horrible smell of sewage and when we called to complain, a guy answered us and was extremely rude, he didn't apologize at any point, he didn't take responsibility by the hotel and said he would send someone to flush a product down the toilet. We had to force them to change our room. They moved us to a smaller room with a view to the back, instead of at least keeping the same room we booked with booking. In the second room the air conditioning doesn't work, I woke up in the early morning feeling sick from the heat, as it was suffocating in the room, so we bed to change again to another room. We paid €261 euros per night and it was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in in my life. A complete lack of respect. They don't care about the guests.
