Catalonia Gran Via Bilbao

We stayed here at the end Sept and it was our first time in Bilbao. The reception team was very professional in helping us during check in. They offered to change our room from a twin bed to single bed which was appreciated. Room was nice with a small balcony to enjoy your evening.

Parking is available on-site in the basement. Just make sure to have a small car as it’s pretty tight.

Location is pretty convenient with restaurants also within walking distance to the hotel.

New hotel ideally located a few minutes from museums and the center. The rooms are very well soundproofed and equipped with all amenities. Breakfast is plentiful and of good quality. Small addition, rooftop pool with sunbathing. Charging station for electric cars is free. Small fix point for small bottles of plastic soap and… a cotton swab.

Brand new hotel in a great location - everything is within walking distance. Perfect hotel for a city break and to explore the wonderful Guggenheim museum. Even the cheapest room has a balcony, the beds are very comfortable and the shower is a dream!! The staff were very friendly. The breakfast is supposed to be great too but we didn't try it. The small pool on the roof is also great - it was quite cold when we arrived but that didn't stop us. We will be back and recommending it to everyone!

An unbeatable experience. Very good service at the reception, attentive and willing to recommend attractions and typical food, and the cleaning ladies who always left the room as new and replaced towels, soap, coffee and tea capsules. Very elegant rooms and a hotel located in the city center. It is close to a tram stop with connections to most of the city. Very good breakfast with quality products. We will definitely be back!

Thank you for making my birthday in Bilbao so special. We got a great room, the entire concierge team was an absolute delight, and I arrived to find chocolates in my room. It really made the trip special. Also the bed was really comfortable and the location couldn’t be more convenient.

Fantastic hotel with fantastic staff especially the reception staff they were all so helpful. Room was lovely, the spa is great, Bilbao is beautiful and friendly. The staff deserve to be paid more, thank you for a wonderful few days

Luxurious, comfortable room and bathroom. Welcoming reception staff always willing to help. Excellent barman, Osvaldo, who was particularly attentive and professional. Very good food and drink in the bar.
Excellent breakfast but, minor point- what a shame the coffee was so awful! ( it prevented us from returning after the first morning) Sadly, the same brand at the bar and also in the bedroom.
Overall a super treat!

My husband and I stayed at the Catalonia Gran Via Bilbao from July 12 to July 19, 2024. The hotel has a great location in the city center, from where you can walk to the main attractions of the city. There is a metro station very close, from there you can get to the ocean shore - there are good beaches. The hotel is modern, the rooms are clean, well furnished, the beds are comfortable, the bed linen is good. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfasts are good, everything is fresh (I would like to see more fresh vegetables). In the lobby there is a nice area to sit, talk, drink coffee. I would especially like to note the work of the staff - all of them without exception are friendly, professional people. Many thanks to Anna and the young man - we communicated mainly with them - they always helped us with organizing trips, and with moving around the city, and with advice on restaurants. Thank you for the pleasure we received in beautiful Bilbao.

For people looking to actually swim, this pool is a disappointment. It's tiny; really just for sun bathers to plunge into and cool off. The breakfast is very extensive, but not good value for price. The gym is tiny but suffices. The park nearby is gorgeous. Rooms are nice!

the hotel is beautiful in a great position, with gym and swimming pool but as everywhere in the world only the people can make the real difference:
during our stay we had a big problem because we lost our documents on the departure day... on the reception we received a big help from David, that very quickly found with us a solution and managed to solved the problem with professional determination: this is all you want to find when you are in need.
Thank you very much David, you saved our life (and flight!) and special mention also to Oswaldo that took perfectly care of us on the dinner service.

I will definitely choose again this hotel when I'll be back to Bilbao for work.
