Hotels on first line in Calella

One was that everyone has to pay tourist tax (not mentioned anywhere) and the second blow was that the water park was closed (also no mention of this) However, the hotel is massive, very clean with excellent facilities such as several swimming pools, plenty of bars and 2 pool tables

The hotel was very clean, very accessible, and family oriented, with a water park on site. the staff were very friendly and helpful on arrival

The entertainment was great, Aqua Aerobics was so much fun, who knew I would enjoy that 😂 Aitor was amazing at it and a great all round entertainer, The kids loved it as did us adults, these too staff are a credit to the hotel as are the rest of the staff

The bar staff were also friendly & helpful and Maribel makes the best cocktails I’ve tasted, she is friendly and helpful and cannot do enough for the customers, she made it feel like home from home

Our room wasn’t quite how it was described on booking, but nevertheless it was a nice, clean room with a great view of the pool & the sea

The hotel has 4 separate swimming pools: the newest one on the east wing of the hotel (ideal for smaller children), another one on the west wing of the hotel (with sharp edges, so it's advisable to wear swimming shoes), an indoor pool (which felt a bit dirty), and a separate area just outside of the hotel where the water slides are located (suitable for kids older than 5-6, as there aren't any slides...

The pool was big enough to enjoy it, with a jacuzzi nearby which could make you to stay all day long in that spot

Stayed at Hotel Kaktus Playa for five days and had a lovely stay! Firstly the room was beautiful - we had a lovely little balcony which caught the sun mid-afternoon onwards (for when we were at the hotel) the room was nice and spacious for the two of us with lots of storage and wardrobe space

The pool was good for having a wee swim about. The hot tub was a let down - the water was a cool temperature with a few bubble jets on (not sure if the other jets were broke/not turned on or those were the only jets)

Toilet and shower were great and worked fine. Secondly the staff were brilliant - from the staff at reception to the house keeping staff. The room was cleaned daily with fresh sheets and towels (if required)

We also booked the roof top terrace - it was lovely and peaceful - it had rained in the morning so there wasn't a lot of people by the time we went up. We didn't realise the bar up there closed around 5pm

The AC was great and kept the room cool which was a blessing on the hot days! We booked the spa for one hour - was a little disappointed

I Stayed here for a week while in Calella for holiday, The Staff are very kind and helpful. Front desk always ready to answer any questions you may have. The Pool was nice to swim in, And sunbeds on the side

Stayed here for little break away with my mum, aunt and sister. Not much to do in town due to covid pandemic. Have to say it was absolutely fantastic stay! Staff could not of been any nicer and welcoming

Do not have their own Lounges on the beach by the sea. When " all inclusive ", there is no free Internet, safe, and banknotes of the sea. Left the hotel at 17: 00, and the number released at 10: 00

The bar on the roof accompanied by hot tubs that you can relax in with amazing views of the mountainous landscape and the Sea on either side. The only reason it's not 5 stars is the buffet service

Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Bar staff was very nice and entertaining. Would highly recommend this hotel for adults and especially kids as there is loads to do. Thanks again for being so welcoming 😊

The food is super! For example today was a fish day, though the meat was. Sliced melons, watermelon pineapple. The air in the room is heated, if he enable. Barcelona is an hour by train

We stayed on the 8th floor which gave us a lovely view of the sea, town and pool. The entertainment was great, really lively and the staff were really good at getting you involved and have fun

Location is the best feature being close to both the beach and town. Getting a bit tired - 80s nautical theme - and the pool is tiny

Thoroughly enjoying the holiday, staff is really polite and helpful. Pool entertainment is very fun

It is only for adults so whilst I don't dislike children you can lie by the pool and read without being disturbed

Food is stunning plenty to offer, if you are a fussy eater it will be chips shop the way but if you have a pallet for classy food you will be pleased with the menu. Will definitely be returning 😁

It's a separate room to yourself which is really nice and has a jacuzzi and sauna. In the room there is also a shower, toilet and sink and towels are provided for that occasion

We would definitely stay again. Although rooms are small it’s cosy and has everything you need ( apart from kettle but can hire) The balcony was south facing second floor facing the sea and pool always had sun onit

A fantastic hotel and staff were really friendly and helpful and served with a smile. It is at the perfect location from the beach, city and food. Restaurant staff were exceptional

All at a very good level! The number of rooms in 4 - would change the mattresses. Compensates for all the food, seafood, fruits ... All very fresh and tasty.

The lifts were not a problem as some reviews said never had to que in the breakfast or dinner que again that may depend on the month you visit however we was there when the local Ironman 2024 was happening in Calella so it was busy but we was not affected

The roof top adults only area is a gem. We took our own drinks as there is no roof top bar. Glass elevator running upside the hotel lovely views & the train line does not disturb your sleep at night

The beaches in Calella were very clean and quieter though, so definitely worth a visit. We came up a day short with our day trip to Barcelona so 5 days was ideal

If you also want to spend a day strolling by the pool and wellness then I would rather recommend another hotel because the pool is very small but clean

Definitely not a 4* hotel, but still worth the price. The hotel esthetics is from 00’s but it is very clean and everything works properly in the room

The location: you do not have a nice view, is located on a busy train track, keep this in mind, we were away every time and found the proximity of the train connection a good point, in an hour we were in Barcelona

Cons: monotonous buffet, food was actually already cold when we sat down and the shellfish were no longer fresh also I found a fingernail among the kiwis, so this is a work point

In short if you are looking for a budget friendly hotel with the necessary basics and a good location then hotel Volga is ideal

He is very welcoming and nice. There is a huge variety of foods to choose from, and it is of good quality. If food is an important factor for you when choosing a hotel, I would highly recommend Hotel Bernat II

Independently visited Girona and Barcelona

Everyone working down at the food buffet were awesome. They were always nice and treated us with a positive attitude. The best hotel staff I have ever encountered

Would recommend for sports teams, families, and others looking for a hotel near the beach, the city and sporting activities

We have been staying at the Bernat II for a few years and hadn't been back since the pandemic It didn't dissapoint. The staff are amazing, really helpful and pleasant. We both had a massage and the lady was brilliant

Without a doubt we will be back It is worth going half board as the food is very good and varied. All in all a great hotel stay would highly recommend it

We like the swimming pool, there are a plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas (but if you wanna take place have to go in the morning or late morning)

Even the receptionist said that the meeting point was in the beach instead of in the hotel hall! I give 3 star in this because of lack of communication

you can put a do not disturb sign on your door - If you get all inclusive, you do indeed get everything promised, you get bar drinks for free. breakfast, lunch and dinner for free - the rooms are fairly sized

since we were going to go swimming all day and exploring Spain anyways not just staying in our hotel rooms the whole time - The places nearby are beautiful. and the beach is about a 5-10 minute (maximum) walk

I disappoint only one thing about the excursion: there is the excursion to the Lighthouse that is only 15 minutes walking time from the Hotel, as we heard that it’s the hotel staff brings you in shortcuts we planned to go either them, they didn’t say any information about how much time it will take (it was 1 hour and half I guess), to bring water (it was so hot so hot, and anyway have some water),...

for a 3 star hotel i was not expecting anything too special. And even some of my friends who don't complain much at all had a lot to say. PROS - Your room gets cleaned daily, unless you don't want it to be

The only point I'd highlight is that the rooms were a little on snug/small side and as we were at back of hotel,the noise from main road was hard to avoid

The hotel was a few minutes walk to the beach, and it is near everything. The pool area is well maintained. We will definitely return a recommend this hotel

The neighbourhood is very noisy at the same time - there are several clubs around and if you want to have some silent rest in the night without drunk singing German teens and drunk yelling UK girls, it is not the place for you

The hotel itself is very good - the room was clean, everything was new and not weared, the reception staff was more than friendly, and they even did breakfast for our group at 3AM

We wet Bed and breakfast , the breakfast was buffet, but there was also chefs there to cook omelettes, pancakes, fried eggs. There was a variety of food available

evening meal is much better than breakfast. Pool Great For The Kids, Not Too Big So Very Easy To Watch Them. On the Down side it's very noisy at night

It's a 3 start hotel so you not expect a lot But they do amazing. Food its really nice and lots to choice. We get a room on last floor with amazing see views 😍 Rooms are clean and every day they clean in good standard

When we first walked through the door the people on the desk was very pleasant and patient and understanding with language barrier. Very helpful and direct! The rooms need abit of TLC I will admit

There's no entertainment in the hotel and you need to go to nearby Hotel Bon Repos in the evening, on the whole the animacio team are good but there is a magic show called Mag Magic which uses animals as part of its act, sadly I fear for the welfare of the animals and hope that the hotel stop engaging this act in the near future! Overall if you want somewhere cheap and cheerful to put your head down...

Pool is nice but if you want a chair you need to wake up at 8 and stay at the queue otherwise no sun chairs. Jacuzzi is always cold and has a very strong smell being covered. Open bar with food next to the pool

Stayed wiih my family for a week.Friendly staff, good food, good location 10 minutes from the beach. Family friendly with kids activities.

Our curtain rail fell down in middle of night. Maids unlock your door to clean while your asleep which is a change of pace to what I'm used too. Only 1 key worked out of our 2 door keys

The man at the front desk was super helpful and nice. They have a pool, a little adults only sunning pool on the roof, a jacuzzi on the roof, and an indoor spa pool and steam room (was by reservation only due to covid)

Big room, coffee maker, hot water, great shower, balcony, black out curtains, USB charging ports. Situated in the middle of town but near the beach and on the street that has an underpass for beach access

Despite his aching all night German youth slept well, the insulation is saved, but the neighbors could hear very well benefit at the hotel no one was walking. Very clean everywhere, great service

Most of the 1 star reviews should be ignored, seem to be politically motivated due to the Catalonian independence process, and a fake rumour that the hotel had denied rooms to the Spanish police

Lovely hotel, staff are amazing so helpful and friendly. We came in the off season and enjoyed the chill atmosphere and perfect weather. Child and dog friendly, great for families something for everyone

Great location from shops, train station and beach, hospital and pharmacy very close. Food is great, lovely restaurants with in walking distance. Overall fantastic holiday recommend for all ages

We had a great holiday in this hotel, but in the future there should be more activities for children. All children was bored seated and looked at shows for adults only

The swimming pool wasn't very big but the beach was only a short stroll away do it didn't matter. The restaurant was down stairs from the ground floor with plenty of seating & always a good choice of lovely food

The pool is cold and suthing there is a pool on the roof with sun beds and you feell like your swimming in the sea the restaurant is a floor underground the two lifts will take you to any floor the buffet is delicious see you there!

Excellent hospitality, view of the finish line and the sea, extra early breakfast on race day - manager took requests for evening meal the night before the race and delivered as promised! 10/10 would stay here again

We stayed here on one of our many holidays in Spain. It's a nice little Hotel we had a room with a lovely sea view from our balcony

Just spent ten days and enjoyed every moment can't wait to go back it's my second time there management very helpful and pleasant as well as all of the staff I felt at home will miss Catalonia thank you all for a wonderfull holiday

Really do not understand all of the horrible reviews, it’s not 5* luxury but that’s obvious surely… it’s a bargain! Staff were really lovely, really really helpful and just friendly especially reception! The rooms were clean and beds were sorted and towels changed every day! Food- again not 5* luxury and there wasn’t LOADS of choice, but there was always something for everyone, just not as varied...

If I had seen the cctv I could have found out who stole them, but like I said, our fault for leaving them! They do play music by the pool during the day, but there is no evening entertainment but there is plenty other places nearby to enjoy a night out

The pool was pretty cold but it’s expected as we went in mid September and gets quite chilly in the evening, the pool area also is very small, there isn’t enough sun beds for everyone, but everyone manages

It’s in a great location, a 5 minute walk to the centre of Calella and to the beach, a supermarket for all supplies it’s a 1 minute walk away

Hotel is quite small, so no crowds, staff always there to help, and manager actually walking around, checking everything not sitting in the office. Lovely time in a lovely place!

However, we enjoyed staying in this nice hotel and we do recommended it for others and for our friends who are planning to visit Calella

We had a great experience with this hotel. We had a warm welcome when we arrived and special thanks to Karen and her boss for their hospitality. Rooms were very clean and the sea view was amazing

Great location by the beach and near clubs and shops. Rooms are cleaned daily and staff is very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately looking at the decor you feel like its a bit run down and in need of updating

It was a good choice to select the 5th or 6th floor to keep away from the noise down. But it would have been great if there were some more food variety like having beef meat which was not that available

Also, the stairs to get in the hotel were some how difficult for old age, and there was also a need for a small fridge inside the rooms

On one night waited at reception for 20+ minutes as key to bedroom was not working - issue had been reported earlier and we were told to go back to reception to resolve after dinner - no one was on duty at reception and a long queue formed, quite unprofessional but for the price and rating expectations were met

Staff were friendly though not attentive, asked on 4 separate occasions for TV in room to be fixed, was promised that someone would come and look at it but this never happened

The chefs tried to suit every national taste because they provided sometimes English breakfast , sometimes Russian pelmeni, Mediterranean menu

Stayed in July 2019 for 7 nights half board. Rooms were basic, but it appeared that the bed sheets were never changed only remade every morning

The rooms are clean and the bathroom was restored. Some rooms have a grate lovely sea view (100-108, 200-208, 300-308. ) Breakfast is not very good, not too much to choose, but very good dinner and supper

Food is mediocre, continental breakfast and buffet dinner, lots of choice but dinner was hit and miss. Expensive Wi-Fi and no free tap water at dinner
