Hotel Cassandra in L'Arenal

Even if it is the cheapest in the area, Would definitely NOT recommend!!! Very old and unmaintained hotel. No pressure on toilet water, it is impossible to have constant water temperature in shower, very old and smelly furniture. Uncomfortable mattress and pillow. The room service wouldn't change sheets and towels, I had to specifically request to be changed. The TV and AC remotes are NOT in the room, you have to ask for them at the reception. Some receptionists would ask for €15 cash deposit, DON'T do that! We waited until morning and asked from the other receptionist( which was local) and he gave them to us without any cash deposit! It is a max 2 star hotel, definitely not 3 stars. Also AVOID S'Arenal area!!! Not a nice area! Very poor food at very high prices. Dodgy people and scams on the streets!

This was honestly one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The hotel was old, poorly maintained, and absolutely not clean. There were insects everywhere – in the room and, even worse, in the food. The food itself was terrible, with extremely low quality, and nothing seemed safe to eat.

To make things worse, water was dripping from the ceiling inside the room, which made the stay incredibly uncomfortable and even unsafe. Housekeeping was a joke – and we heard multiple rumors from other guests that cleaning staff had stolen personal belongings from their rooms. That made the entire stay feel unsafe and uneasy.

To sum it up: this place should be avoided at all costs. It was like living in a nightmare. Pure hell

I got the room in front of the lift on my arrival. Broken mirror inside the room. I asked the elderly male receptionist with glasses to have the room changed as for my 7 days stay I wanted quiet room not with the lift going up and down all night. He was not happy to offer another room rolling his eyes saying its a good room for 1 person. Why? Because the size was decent for 1 but I didn't care about the size. Why do I need 2 other single beds anyway ? I just wanted quiet one without the broken mirror and not directly by the lift. Finally I got another room. The bed sheets were not changed on my arrival just the bed was remade using previous guest sheets. Spare pillows in the wardrobe also were visible used with hair on them. Disgusting. The mattress protector was also dirty, covered in suspicious stains. I had to ask for the whole linen to be changed. At night I realised despite the room not being directly by the lift you could hear the lift going up and down all night it was so noisy I could not sleep and I was on top floor. The pressure of the water in the shower and tap was so weak you could not wash yourself. Good luck washing hair and rinsing it out! You have to ask for air-conditioning remote and pay deposit 15 euros for the remote. They don't mention it until you ask! You have to pay for wi Fi as well. Avoid.

For the price it’s a place to rest your sunburnt head/body for the night.
It’s a good walk to the beach and the area itself is a touch grimey.
Took other reviews with a grain of salt but here is my objective findings.
Our room (215) was free of bugs thankfully.
Showers were indeed an issue (video) we made it work.
Beds uncomfortable but better than nothing.
AC worked( barely) and yes you do need a deposit but if you know about it ahead of time, it didn’t bother me. It was promptly returned.
You need to pay for Wifi, I opted to not do this.
House keeper really didn’t give warning when entering around (9am for us) , so thankful to have read the advice to keep key in door partially turned.
Leads me to the KEY, this hotel does use a key still and it’s attached to a metal card that you’ll need to provide electricity to the room, I unhooked the key every night and left it half turn in the door (from inside) no deadbolt or additional security to be found.
Breakfast was OK, we didn’t get sick as others mentioned but we just had toast and coffee. We had dinner all over the island (why else are you in Mallorca)
We didn’t have too much issue with nightly noise in our time so can’t comment though we were able to hear our neighbours and their convos up to 2am.
Parking was a challenge if you came back later in the evening as we did, everyone here seems to have a rental car so be prepared to do some loops looking for a spot (but that was my experience)
All in all I can’t say I would recommend, we got this place for the price and due to and unexpected extension in our plans but are thankful that they could accommodate.
Side note, the halls can get creepy at night, there are Snow White sculptures at the base of each staircase and it startled me even when I KNEW it was there.

We had a room for two at hotel Cassandra for one week, to party and go sightseeing. Bus is close and beach aswell but you do have to walk around 20 minutes or more to get to Mega Park/Bierkönig. Nights can be loud due to music from other rooms or from outside. Hygiene is what’s lacking here. There were hairs on the walls, the surface of the sink or nightstand weren’t properly clean and there was hair on our bed. The last night we found a cockroach on the floor and had to kill it… disgusting. If you clean the room yourself it is fit for staying the night. The breakfast looks good but we were scared to try much after other recommendations said they got ill after. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is worth its price, which is cheap.
