IFA Altamarena by Lopesan Hotels

Arrived last night and was relived that a late night meal was provided for us as we had missed the dinner service.
Family room was big enough for x2 people and had a sofa -bed. But unfortunately the room had a strong smell of smoke and we could hear the music coming from the bar. So if you’re sensitive to noise or a light sleeper, I would not recommend room 134 on first floor. Having said that, the room was spotlessly clean and cannot fault. As our party had been split; with our room on seafront side and our friends on the roadside, we asked to change rooms and the staff (a lady who was lovely and helpful) have been understanding and have asked us to go to reception this morning to re-accommodate us (as many guests will be checking out today) so we are closer to each other and can choose a non-smoky room. Upon arrival the main entertainment room was in full swing with live Salsa music and guests letting their hair down on the dance floor. Majority of guest demographic seems to be German. There are x2 pool tables. Bar was busy and staff could be a bit more attentive to guests needs. Cocktails are strong 😁, so if you’re a lightweight, sip slowly 😂. Beds are comfy, there’s a phone, fridge and bathroom is complete with bath and shower. The hotel is situated with the ocean on one side and a long street of shops on the other. Shops include: Mango, koala Bay, Tommy Hilfiger, lots of restaurants. I will update on how the room situation pans out later…

Stayed at this hotel for my first solo trip. Resort is nice with lovely sandy beaches. Hotel is well equipped, no shortage of sun loungers. Plenty of souvenir and other shops nearby. Beach is 5 mins from the hotel. There are some nice restaurants and bars which are approx 15 mins walk away. Room was ok. It had a safe at an incremental cost. Bar well stocked. Entertainment staff on site for exercise and other activities. Food was ok, not the best all inclusive I’ve had but it met the need. I enjoyed my stay but if I returned to the resort, I’d probably stay closer to the restaurants and bars.

We stayed for a week AI with a premium drinks package. Great hotel, lovely staff, plenty of choice to eat, plentiful buffet of fresh local food, free flow wine and beer with premium soft drinks and cocktail’s. There is something for everyone here to eat, including a free snack bar by the pool all day. Breakfast had omelettes, eggs, beautiful bread, fruit, cereals, continental cheese, cold cuts etc Lunch and dinner varied every day with plenty of choice. We stayed in a lovely suite, it was spotless and well maintained. The hotel is 90’s style which I found charming, if you want a super modern hotel, look elsewhere and pay a lot more. Entertainment every night provided by singers of a good standard. Walking distance to the beautiful beach and great shopping area across the street. 15 mins walk to the old town or €4 taxi right outside the door. I would recommend this hotel.

A fabulous hotel steeped in history. The staff are so attentive in service with quality. The quality of menus throughout the day is a testament to the chefs. From reception to housekeeping, I highly commend the high standards set. Bar and food service staff are attentive in their jobs, continuously endeavouring to excel in customer expectations.

We are regular guests at this well run AI hotel. The staff are so friendly and helpful . Food is buffet style and varied. Hotel extremely good value and relaxing, short stroll to Morre Jable which is an authentic fishing village with great lively bars and restaurants

A bit late writing this, but what can I say? The hotel is in a fantastic setting. Minutes away from a beautiful sandy beach and local shops. The hotel itself i can not fault one bit. All the staff, from the receptionist to the cleaners, to the kitchen staff were all very friendly. Especially with my children (aged 6&2). Even when my 2 year old son threw and tantrum and broke some salt and pepper pots. My wife and I were very apologetic and offered to clean up. But the staff were really nice about it all. (Apologies again!) I'm teaching my children some basic Spanish and they would say 'Hola' to the cleaners every day. In which the cleaners would wave back with a lovely smile. The hotel has 3 pools - 1 which is heated that is a bonus with plenty of sun loungers. Constant food available with plenty of choice and drinks including beer and wine on tap that you can help yourself to which we loved! Also if you want to visit the Oasis wildlife park, a coach picks you up directly outside the hotel. A return trip for only €5 - amazing! We loved our stay here and will definitely return again in the near future.
