We’ve just returned from a week all-inclusive stay at Labranda Alyssa Suite Hotel, and overall we had a pleasant holiday, though there were definitely some areas that could be improved.

To start with the positives, the hotel grounds are lovely and very well maintained. The rooms and general hotel areas were clean, and the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The bar and restaurant staff in particular were very quick, attentive, and genuinely good at what they do — service was always smooth and efficient. The location is also great — close to the mountains with beautiful views, not too far from the beach, although the nearest shops are a bit of a walk. The food was always warm and, although the buffet is on the smaller side, there was a nice enough selection. The themed food nights were a great touch too — we particularly enjoyed the Mexican night. The food at the pool bar was also really nice and very handy, perfect for keeping you going throughout the day.

There wasn’t much daytime entertainment for the first few days, and it might have been nice to have a bit more going on just to add some variation. The evenings always had something on, and towards the end of the week a young entertainment lad arrived who deserves a special mention — he was genuinely sweet and really tried his hardest to get the small crowd involved and enjoying themselves. Even though he was only there for a couple of days, his effort and enthusiasm really lifted the atmosphere.

The maids were lovely — always smiling, always happy to help, and our room was left tidy and refreshed every single day. The only issue we had was one occasion where a maid walked in while we were asleep, which was a little intrusive, but otherwise they were fantastic.

However, there were quite a few maintenance issues in our suite. The windows and balcony door didn’t lock, which didn’t leave us feeling completely comfortable. There was a hole in the sofa, paint on the curtains, peeling paint elsewhere, and the shower door didn’t close properly. At times the bathroom smelled unpleasant, and a hole in the silicone in the shower meant water leaked onto the floor. It would be nice to see the rooms given a bit of a revamp, just to freshen them up and neaten everything overall.

The pool area is nice, but the big pool was absolutely freezing — definitely not heated, which was a shame.

Food-wise, while what was offered was good, it was very similar every day, so a bit more variation would be appreciated.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay thanks to the lovely staff, tidy grounds, clean rooms, helpful maids, great bar and restaurant service, tasty pool bar food, the themed food nights, and the hard work of the entertainment lad at the end of the week. With a bit more attention to detail, some room updates, and more daytime activities, this hotel could be excellent

Unfortunately, this hotel was a major letdown. It is advertised as a 4-star property, but it felt more like a 2-star at best. The entire place is extremely run down and in desperate need of refurbishment. We were originally put in room 112 and had to request a room move on arrival it was that awful! We were then moved to 425 which wasn’t much better and I expressed this but was told it’s all they could do! The reception staff were genuinely lovely, but most of the other staff came across as quite rude, which made the stay even more disappointing. The pools were absolutely freezing, making them practically unusable. As for the food, breakfast was acceptable, but lunch and dinner were pretty awful. We ended up eating out every night after seeing the buffet—and we’re not fussy eaters. The snack bar was even worse, serving food you wouldn’t want to give to a pet. They advertised non-alcoholic piña coladas on the all-inclusive menu, but every time we asked, they refused to make them. After pointing out multiple times that they were listed, they eventually just scribbled them off the menu instead of providing them. Luckily, we don’t go away just to sit around the hotel all day, otherwise we would have changed hotels—something we genuinely considered anyway. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

Just got back from a 9night stay and it was lovely ♥️ I would return in a heart beat.
Out apartment was clean and modern. The staff were very helpful and attentive.
I've never been at the end of November for the sun and was very happy to see it as we left Wales in the snow !

We are currently staying here and haven't even checked out yet! We leave in a couple of days.

I feel that some of the negative reviews and comments are a bit unfair and unjustified. There seems to be a lot of negativity in relation to the food/buffet. We are half board and honestly, the breakfast and evening buffets are amazing. Excellent presentation and selection including chefs who cook pasta and meat to order and eggs/omlettes and fresh pancakes for breakfast.

The waiters are friendly and polite and are very attentive. I imagine it's a pretty thankless job so I do want to express our thanks to the restaurant staff because I think they do an amazing job.

The one thing I would mention is that half board doesn't include drinks in the evening and you have to order those. I don't mind paying for drinks but it's unusual for soft drinks to not be included. I suppose it's harder to manage and keep track of whose taking what which is why they probably do it the way they do. Its not an issue but in wonder if it wouldn't make more sense to either pay a bit more so that your drinks are included or have some sort of drinks voucher scheme.

The furniture in the rooms are a bit tired but did not affect our stay - 4 of us in an apartment and there's plenty of room to spread out. There's a private sunbathing area as well as a private outside area with your own sun loungers.

Staff do come in and empty bins, make the beds and give you fresh towels if you need them. Much thanks to those members of staff too!

The pool is a bit chilly, I won't lie. I read somewhere that they start heating it from November. Once you're in though, you do acclimatise. We're not "spend all day around the pool" people and you get lots of people who ignore the rules and "reserve" loungers with their towels but it's nice to dip on after a day in the sun. Technically, you don't need a lounger if you're in the pool - we just use one to put all our stuff on.

We haven't used the bar or sampled any of the live entertainment as that's not really our thing but we can hear the music and they do tend to finish at around 10.30pm so no issues there either.

This is the first time we've had a holiday like this and honestly, we've had an amazing time. It's prompted us to consider more holidays like this which we certainly would not be doing if we'd had a bad or unpleasant experience.

We stayed for 10 nights from 7th October and found this hotel excellent. Rooms were spotless and cleaned every day. Restaurant was great no queing for food and an excellent selection. All staff were amazing especially Simone,Scarlet,Ernie and Steven. The pool Area was cleaned every day and there were plenty of sun loungers. Entertainment was good and the entertainer was very friendly and encouraged guests to take part in things. I will definitely be returning in the future.

We have just returned from a weeks holiday staying in the hotel, after reading some of the mixed reviews before our holiday I am really happy to say we didn’t let them influence us either way we found the staff to be friendly and , helpful. The food in the restaurant was always fresh and plenty of choice too. We had a lovely large room on the back with a wonderful patio area which we made full use of a real bonus if you don’t fancy the pool bar on a evening just a short walk to collect another Gin and Tonic We enjoyed a lovely walk into Playa Blanca each day we found walking along the main road opposite the hotel, then turning into the new walk way ( just past Elba Suites hotel) was the quickest way, leads you straight to the harbour and the middle of town.

Great hotel, staff absolutely brilliant, cleaned room everyday and kept outside & pool areas spotless. Loved having own patio area with own sun beds. Lots of choice for food & drink. Plenty of sun beds around pool. Really chilled and relaxing hotel. Would return without a doubt.

Just finished our 9 day stay this is our second time visiting the hotel, we couldn’t fault it and enjoyed it as much as the first time. The staff are so friendly and accommodating, always happy to help. The rooms are spotless and spacious, we stayed in room 508. The cleaning staff were helpful if you didn’t want your room cleaned they offered to change the towels and rubbish bins if needed. The pools are also clean as are all of the facilities. Food is good and has a good amount of options if you aren’t a fussy eater, they have different themed nights such as mexican, italian and asian etc. We did also eat out in playa blanca and playa flamingo, flamingo beach is around a 10 min walk from the hotel. The hotel can also order taxis for you if requested and they are easy to catch from playa blanca and surrounding areas. We are already planning our visit for next year. Special thank you to the pool bar staff who are always so lovely and always are up for a dance when the entertainment is on. Our favourite nights were Monday and Wednesday nights where a DJ attended playing a range of music. The all inclusive upgrade for €15 a day is a great idea and we did this on our last day! Thanks so much Labranda! We can’t wait to return next September. Faya. :)

We have just returned from a lovely trip to Labranda Alyssa Suites, and although we were nervous about some of the reviews, this was not necessary! We had a fantastic, relaxing time. We loved the slightly remote location as we wanted to be able to have a slight walk every day so this suited us perfectly, yes the entertainment was a bit quiet but again didn't really impact us at all for what we wanted it was perfect. The actual complex was kept lovely and clean, staff constantly cleaning and attending to needs of all. Staff were all very polite and attentive and seemed to really enjoy the customer service. Food was great, lots of fresh options and no issues here at all. Absolutely spectacular views and a fantastic morning walk to the nearby Mountain Roja, well worth an early wake up to catch the sunrise. We enjoyed playing in the games room, which some have said is a bit run down but was like any other games room ever! Pools were cold but a quick swim, play or aqua dance soon fixed this. Room was very clean and no issues at all with housekeeping, shower was a bit leaky but just put a hand towel or two next to the door. . Beds were very comfortable too. Free safe. Nice outdoor area and no bugs at all. Overall we had a lovely time and would recommend to any families looking for a relaxing holiday.

We have just returned from 1 week at Labranda Alyssa and had a lovely time (2 adults, 1 child and a baby). Food: - Lots of variety of cold and hot options - Staff are very attentive and clear tables quickly - We really liked the themed nights - Mexican/Asian/Spanish - Would have liked more variety of fruit, it was always melon, melon and more melon - Flies are a bit of an issue and would often be seen landing on food - Food isn’t 5* quality but perfectly adequate - Drink options were generally good - however juices at breakfast were from a machine and not fresh as we would have expected Rooms (we had a 1 bed suite for reference): - We liked it was a holiday village rather than hotel as rooms were much quieter being spread out across the site - Rooms are in need of some tlc - bathroom was very tired, shower door didn’t shut properly and damp on bathroom door - Sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable, however we did ask for a mattress topper which was delivered the next day and improved comfort - Air con was very efficient Pool areas: - Pools were well maintained and clean - Lots of sunbeds (towels are put down from around 8am but we always managed to get beds) - Umbrellas are in need of serious repair. Considering how windy Lanzarote is, the hotel really needs to invest in some decent, wind resistant umbrellas! General: - We loved the location - a ten minute walk down to the seafront and a lovely paved walkway. Plus stunning views of Montana Roja! - Games Room - terrible! Hotel needs to improve this area as half the things don’t work or are ancient - Football pitch - not the best and again in need of some repair - Entertainment - limited, would have liked to have seen more aqua dance on offer and mini disco was in the pool bar rather than on a little stage so not that exciting for the kids. We can’t comment on the mini club as we didn’t use it. - Children’s park is poor - considering this is a family hotel the park is really under whelming! Overall we had a lovely week - this hotel is classed as a 4 star but I would say it is definitely a solid 3 star as there are definite improvements needed! Thank you for a great holiday.
