Hotel Vallemar

I was not a guest at this hotel but I did visit the Kontiki Rooftop Bar and Restaurant which is open to anyone. The views were amazing, looking down on the lido and the sea. Great place to watch the sun set. We only had drinks, reasonably priced. Service was a bit slow but very friendly. Will go back.

The service in the BAR on the 6th floor resembled the server: tired and slow (i.e., as in Donald Trump-type slowness- not a good thing to behold in any context). When I asked for the menu (none was forthcoming on my entry), he looked at me quizzically as if to wonder why I was not endowed with some super- human power enabling me to see what was available by intuition alone.

I later ordered one more glass of wine. The waiter (seemingly, an inhabitant from another realm, far distant from our on reality) proceeded to try to top up my existing glass of wine!!! “NO!”, I cried with all my failing strength). He, thankfully, complied.

TOP TIP : bring Tolstoy’s War and Peace with you to read (hopefully, not cover-to-cover) while you wait…and wait….

Why the 4* review? Despite all this trauma and frustration: this is a 6th floor bar with great sea views and the locally produced wine was good (as it usually is in this area) and well priced: 4 Euros per medium sized glass.'

Recommended for great views and an all-too temporary respite from the plastic dinosaur and dolphin -toting, beer swilling endomorphs below.

Fantastic hotel.
Rooms are comfortable and clean.
Breakfast buffet is probably the best I've seen in any holiday hotel.
All the staff are polite and hard working.

Very good hotel and friendly helpful staff, they changed the room at my request because the room I had reserved with ocean view in the front was too loud at night because of the front disco ( till 12pm ).
The food at the restaurant was a good selection of choices with buffet, the service was good and the music was nice and not too loud.
Great location in the center of Puerto de la Cruz next to the sea and beaches and a lot of shops and restaurants.
The infinity pool at the top of the hotel had amazing views and nice service.

Love this hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was great! Views were excellent! Superb location.

My only ask would be for the pool to be a bit warmer, we stayed in May when it's cloudy and the pool was quite chilly (still was warmer then the ocean).

All in all, a great place to stay.

Stayed with kids but would also be great without.

We stayed here for 4 years on the run from2005 to 2008 & found it excellent for location ,food & comfortable rooms but really don't know how it is now although we see lots of tourists going in there.

It rates it's self 4 stars, have to agree. So far so good, food and room just what you would expect for the location and price. Staff friendly and happy to help when they can.

Location is good... Roof top pool area is very nice. Plan to have more lazy days here.

Just got back yesterday from a 4 day break!
Hotel AMAZING! VERY friendly staff who make you feel welcome, and speak English! :) Room was a double sea view, GREAT view, not too noisy, very clean. One complaint about the room, was the hair dryer!! Old, and on wall, no heat, no power! Take your own hair dryer!!
Hotels swimming pool on 6th floor is amazing, again Very clean!!

Location its self, great.
No bars, all restaurants. Even though your on the beach, there isn't really anywhere to lay and relax.

Fantastic view of the sea from the sea-view room. Rooms are traditional in the ambience, like a country cottage. Breakfast spread was huge.

Went in October for surfing. Bad, bed everything is very clean! Personal is nice and friendly. Pool area on the rooftop is amazing with beautiful view
