Where to stay in Puerto de la Cruz

Absolutely great holiday with family and children. We arrived late night exhausted, and found hotel staff left dinner for us in the fridge - what a caring gesture from hotel, well appreciated. Hotel has a stunning green territory with own botanic garden, we spotted a rooster and 2 hens living there too, quite cute! Delicious food, lovely bar, great customer care and good value for money. Exceeded our expectations, breakfast and dinner buffet are different everyday. €5 daily charge for parking as we hired a car locally. Easy walk into town downhill. Complementary bottle of wine and water in room on arrival. We would definitely stay here again.

Really like this hotel. It is older, has two buildings, has spacious grounds and is peaceful. It doesn't have air conditioning and is a little bit out of town up a steep hill for those with mobility issues. Very clean, larger rooms, pleasant staff and good value for money.

Room a bit dated (albeit kept clean) and could do with some renovation. Balcony door very stiff and awkward to open resulting in the maid leaving it open when cleaning. Shower head broken but thankfully there was a waterfall rain shower as well, albeit with high pressure. Shower tray filled up quickly and would easily flood the bathroom so had to use water sparingly. Situated up a steep hill so unless...

Nice place to stay. The rooms are big, the place is well maintained. When you stay here you will see that it is meant especially for German and Spanish retirees. Also you need to keep in mind that to get to the hotel from the city center, you need to climb a small hill, which may be tiring for some people, but there are free buses going to and from center regularly.

It's old fashioned no frills hotel, with adequate breakfast. Rooms are decent and cleanliness is fine.

The service in the BAR on the 6th floor resembled the server: tired and slow (i.e., as in Donald Trump-type slowness- not a good thing to behold in any context). When I asked for the menu (none was forthcoming on my entry), he looked at me quizzically as if to wonder why I was not endowed with some super- human power enabling me to see what was available by intuition alone. I later ordered one more...

I was not a guest at this hotel but I did visit the Kontiki Rooftop Bar and Restaurant which is open to anyone. The views were amazing, looking down on the lido and the sea. Great place to watch the sun set. We only had drinks, reasonably priced. Service was a bit slow but very friendly. Will go back.

Fantastic hotel. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast buffet is probably the best I've seen in any holiday hotel. All the staff are polite and hard working.

Very good hotel and friendly helpful staff, they changed the room at my request because the room I had reserved with ocean view in the front was too loud at night because of the front disco ( till 12pm ). Love this hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was great! Views were excellent! Superb location. My only ask would be for the pool to be a bit warmer, we stayed in May when it's cloudy and the pool was quite chilly (still was warmer then the ocean). All in all, a great place to stay. Stayed with kids but would also be great without.

We stayed here for 4 years on the run from2005 to 2008 & found it excellent for location ,food & comfortable rooms but really don't know how it is now although we see lots of tourists going in there.

I have stayed at this this hotel three times over the years. I just loved the place. Food grand...large bedrooms with big confy beds ...staff were very helpful. Just about ten minutes walk to the centre of Puerto de la Cruz. Also a neighbouring hotel five minutes away had adult dancing almost every night where all the locals danced...very enjoyable. There is also live entertainment in the hotel...

We had the best holiday! The hotel was wonderful, at very good place near the beach, the rooms were big and with beautiful balconies with flowers, was really nice! Will come again

Definitely a decent hotel and apartments with all amenities.A bit old fashioned interiors, but great staff and customer service compensate for it. Only reasons not to give 5 stars would be hard beds and no air-con in the apartment. Pools were good, food everyday was different and tasted great, kids programme was great and our daughter was waiting for the mini-disco and face painting everyday.

A good standard of comfort and service generally. Food selection very good. The indoor pool costs extra but the outdoor one was fine for us in late October. A very good holiday base and the local area of Puerto de la Cruz is very attractive. There is a good local bus service including to Mt. Teide.

We ate here as a group event. The buffet has a wide variety of choices and is fresh and delicious. The staff are very friendly and hardworking. The hotel also has a bar which is very relaxing.

Nice hotel, great staff but a bit disappointed with reception staff. Breakfasts with a lot of different options every day. Restaurants and shops very near. There is a big supermarket just behind to the hotel.

Perfect stay. Simply one of the best hotel experience so far. The place itself is so relaxing and nice to see. Two pool area, SPA, different restaurants and golf pitch. You literally have everything that you need. Rooms are wide, i had one with the view on the SPA and a nice balcony. Extra point for the service and the kindness of the staff: they made me feel at home. Highly recommended.

We stayed as part of a TUI holiday and without doubt this is a true 5 star hotel. Beautiful grounds, serene elegance of the building, attentive staff and thoughtful management. We stayed in an Ambassador Junior suite (415) and it was wonderful. If we ever come to Tenerife then this would be our address. Highly recommended.

We booked an all inclusive stay for 5 nights on a last minute offer and didn't expect much but were positively surprised. For the price that we paid for 2 people (755€), we were very satisfied.

Loved this hotel. Friendly staff ,easy parking and beautiful views. The suite was spacious and very clean ,the jacuzzi bath was a lovely bonus! The only criticism was it was extra for the kitchen equipment but it was only 5€ a day.

Fully renovated! 4 minuts from the beach. Near the Hotel there’s a rent a bike (Schulz and Junior) where I rented for one day a bicycle. Perfect!

It's a huge hotel in relatively good location, it's older hotel but generally well maintained and clean. There is a swimming pool and a small pool for kids. The food for breakfast, but also lunch or dinner is quite low quality, mostly from frozen things and it doesn't have much flavor, tastes cheap and bland. On the other hand, you have a wide selection of things so you can always find something decent...

We had a really good time in Puerto Palace, it has everything you might need and the personnel are really nice. The view of the pool and the garden from our room was beautiful and made for a really nice and peaceful stay. It’s the perfect place for truly relaxing, but it also has happy hour and evening live music.

Much better then the ones near beach. 3 pools and a nudist pool at the last floor. Great staf, clean rooms, the food is acceptable.

We stayed at this hotel for one night while traveling around the island by car. I was very surprised by the panoramic view along the corridor, when you go to the room, you enjoy the ocean and beautiful plants (unlike the south side of the island), the hotel is also very beautiful, everything is clean and comfortable. The location is fine and the view is nice if you have a balcony facing the ocean. Otherwise, my room was full of ants and I had no constant WiFi in the room. Instead of helping me with the WiFi, the staff denied there was any problem... There is a large choice of food at the buffet but a lot of it is not really self made. Still, you’ll always find something to eat.

First visit to Tenerife and stayed here for 10 days half-board as a family of four including two teenagers. Food was a surprise. Didn't have a bad meal the whole time we were there. Tasty, varied and great service. The team were helpful and attentive. Bedooms are clean, spacious but a little tired in terms of decor. A real gem of a holiday - happy to recommend and would go again.

Small hotel with vintage interior vibes. The rooms are old but clean and the bed was quite comfortable. Shower worked and the water was hot. Parking was difficult but therefore you're super close to the city centre. If you're looking for a budget option and only come for sleeping, this is a great hotel.

Don't let yourself fooled by the overall score of the reviews. The hotel is very clean, room is huge anf the food is very nice also. (breakfast and dinner) The views are fantastic both from the room and the restaurant. Staff is very nice and the ladies that clean your room are brilliant. Everything is clean and back to where it is supposed to be upon your return.

This hotel is really good and staff cannot do enough for you. Would go back here again without a doubt. Amenities here are good balcony over Atlantic, and waves breaking at night put you to sleep. Steep hills and weather nothing to do with hotel, as is mentioned in other reviews, trip adviser being the worst...in my opinion. The rooms have an old furniture and no soundproofing whatsoever. The might at the balcony comes on at a certain time and cannot be turned off… The food is good at times, but sometimes it is just too mich salt and over/undercooked… breakfast was actually really good. I really liked the concept of a non-smoking establishment. The hotel itself is located among the city streets, 15-20 minutes walk to the ocean. The hotel has a great pool. The exterior itself is a piece of wild nature combined with civilization, everything is very harmonious. All of the hotel personal is extremely friendly which is the most important thing for me, the food is also amazing (we are extremely allergic to crabs and gluten and was always taken care of that), and once more very friendly people and amazing location.

Overall great experience i did have to fight several cockroaches but it’s inevitable. The pool is great and the location is close to the center and the ocean. Great view plus balconies on every room. A great stay. Food is good even if it’s self service Nd the staff is very kind, excellent stay.

Spent 10 days here and it's been a mixed experience. The hotel, lovely. The staff, lovely, the cleanliness, lovely. But then there's the food here, I've had to go out to eat every day during my stay here, fortunately it doesn't take much to fill me up, but if you're here with a family of fussy eaters it can quickly get very costly on top of the price for your stay. Spent a full week at Be Live Experience Orotava and here's my thoughts: Location is excellent, you can get anywhere within a 5 minute walk. In front of the hotel you have Mercadona which is a very cheap grocery shop, coffee shops, burguer king, etc. Rooms are good, cleaned everyday, cleaning lady is very polite and nice. All inclusive is not exactly ALL inclusive as you can't even get a bottle of water...

Just come back from a weeks stay here. Overall the hotel is nice and the rooms are a nice size and clean the only downside is you don't get a kettle or anything in the rooms there's a little coffee shop across the road which was ok but very pricey and in the hotel there is a vending machine with bottles of water which was about €2. The pool is extremely small and very over looked only a couple of sunbeds...

Decent place. Stayed for 2 nights while transition in between long term stays. Managed to get my stay for €48 a night. Rooms are standard, and equipped as expected. There is working Aircon in the room, and very fast wifi, great for work. Breakfast buffet is really great, only frankfurter style sausages though, but a load of other things to compensate. Nice hotel, all inclusive. The quality of food and service is fine. Quite happy with our staying, but just one weird thing, basically there is no double bed, there are only small double beds. Most of the hotel rooms are with two beds connected. Our staying was long so it was hard for the staff to find us a real double bed, because we asked them to change our room, since them bed was creating a gap...

Very underwhelmed on entry and this didn't improve with the superior sea view suit. Travelodge has better rooms. Very central location. Food is average with not much choice for an all inclusive hotel. Go B&B and save your money to eat locally. Plenty of choice there. Bar and entertainment area is very average for a 4 star hotel. Location is tucked away from the main run of hotels. Quite adults only, 5 mins from beach. Amazing views of the north Side of the island, and cooler than the south. Nice lot of restaurants if on b and b, food at hotel is passable, but not great.

Hotel is located in a great location about a third of the way up a hill. Feels like you walk up the hill un both directions though...Staff are great very helpful and multi lingual. Apart from one of the lifeguards who I dont think talks full stop. We had the top tier all inc package and it worked well. We did visit out of season so some renovation work was being done on the hotel but there was no disturbance...

Great and lovely time at the hotel. Staff were exceptional kind and helpful most especially Veronica. She was superb with her yoga class and she always had a smile on every time. I will recommend the hotel to my friends and family and will ask them to attend the yoga class as well. Definitely coming back to the hotel again

Food was great and really enjoyed the location of this hotel. There could be a few small improvements such as: the entertainment was ok but could put a disco on afterwards to just end the nights better. Also the furniture in the hall could be more comfortable as my our backs were aching after a couple of hours. I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Be Live Hotels Only for Adults, and it was a wonderful experience. The food was excellent, with a variety of delicious and well-prepared dishes. An excellent Hotel very well located with beautiful rooms. The hotel is only let down by the long waits at reception and the poor performance of breakfast. Breakfast is the biggest issue it really stops about 30 minutes prior to the advertised finish time. Staff disappear there is little chance plates and food will be restocked. You have a big problem with the elevators, they were out of phase. There was only one elevator going to the garage and you had to wait 10 minutes to go up or down from the garage with the elevator. In the bathroom, the batteries and bathtub are used, rusty and old Very good location. Great pool. The buffet is very varied both in the morning and in the evening.
