Reviews
The buffet breakfast is mayhem and not enough seating in the main building however I did feel the selection of food was good.
Definitely the hotel is for the more mature person as the average age seems to be around 70 plus.
There is no other facility for food if you haven’t booked into the restaurant, which seems impossible to get booked.
Would I stay here again, this is simple as my answer would be no.
However, there were a few aspects that made our stay less enjoyable. The hotel seemed primarily tailored to older German tourists, who made up the majority of the guests. This was reflected in many aspects, such as the evening entertainment and the bland seasoning of the food, which seemed to cater to their preferences. As a younger couple from the Czech Republic, we didn’t feel as though the hotel considered us an equally important clientele.
Another issue was the condition of our room. The furnishings were outdated and would greatly benefit from renovation. The balcony doors, in particular, were poorly sealed, which resulted in constant noise from the busy street outside. Although someone did attempt to repair the gaps, significant drafts and noise persisted, making it difficult to sleep at times.
I’d also like to mention the dining staff, whose attitudes were inconsistent. The younger members of the team were friendlier and often greeted us with smiles, which created a pleasant atmosphere. However, some of the older staff were less welcoming; on several occasions, they didn’t respond to our greetings, even when I repeated them to ensure they heard. While I understand that working in hospitality can be challenging—especially when some guests behave poorly—it still felt unprofessional. One particular instance stood out: while I was still eating, one of the staff members took my plate almost directly from under me and slammed it onto the cleaning cart. Moments like this detracted from the overall experience and didn’t contribute to a feeling of relaxation or quality service.
That said, given that this was one of the most affordable options with half-board on Tenerife, I would still rate the experience slightly positive. However, I don’t think I would choose to return unless some improvements were made. With a few updates to the rooms, better soundproofing, and more consistent staff training, this hotel could truly become a fantastic place to stay.
High above Puerto de la Cruz set in beautiful gardens tended by two full time gardeners.
Fabulous but very steep walk down into town through amazing terraced parks filled with hundreds of flowering trees and shrubs and birds, butterflies, dragonflies and reptiles.
Very well managed hotel with friendly and professional staff. Great variety of meals served by very efficient and friendly people.
Rooms and public areas maintained to a very good standard by great people too.
100% delighted 😎
The hotel itself is located among the city streets, 15-20 minutes walk to the ocean. The hotel has a great pool. The exterior itself is a piece of wild nature combined with civilization, everything is very harmonious. The room is clean, the cleaning is without complaints, and the staff responds immediately to all requests. The cuisine is delicious.
I am very satisfied.
Staff were accommodating, food was nice although it’s a buffet style you have to get there early for each meal, if you don’t buy the packages, you much prepay for lunch or dinner in reception
Close enough to amenities but there are regular taxis outside
Non smoking hotel except for the top of the dining hall or outside the front
Self service laundry which wa bonus
€4 for a wash and €2 for drying
Pool lovely
Grounds beautiful well taken care of
Trips desk very helpful
Food good different every night.
Rooms lovely
Husband really liked Reuben very high opinion of him. Interacted well with guests and lovely bloke.
Breakfast was ok for me personally. Porridge with honey and pancakes every day. Lots of tea choices and juices.
Grounds of the hotel were very clean and had a lot of nice well maintained green spaces.
No smoking around the pool which is good.
I like walking as exercise and this place is situated at the top of a few quite steep hills.
I enjoyed the walk down to Puerto and back up though as it’s a nice walk.
My one issue is why they don’t just open the pool at 8am till 8pm.
Opened at 11 o clock which is very late for someone like me who likes a swim before breakfast.
The pool guy cleaned every aspect of the pool before he would open it.
Surely he can just do this during the day.
It closed at 7pm so if you took an all day excursion you are away before pool opens and back when it’s closed.
Rooms with view for the swimming pool and mountains are great! Staff always nice and helpful.
Only the bathroom needs refurbishment.
Food quite good, always something to choose. I would like more fruits to be available.
The staff mainly Julio are extremely rude & unhelpful ,mostly to the English!
Food is ok at breakfast but after that ,, forget it ! Take a 30 walk down a very steep hill to find anything remotely interesting to do & then the back breaking walk back again.
I paid extra for a room upgrade £187 & was told they haven’t received the money?
Only pleasant thing is the beautiful gardens
