Hotel Best Roquetas in Roquetas de Mar

If you’re expecting a fun holiday then don’t go here. We have just got back and found the majority of the staff rude and obnoxious. They were very anti-english. Bar staff and restaurant staff in particular. Plates in the restaurant were always dirty and had to go through them to find a clean one. Food was luke warm and repetitive. We ended up eating out after the 2nd night and we were all inclusive. We had a sea view room and while the view was lovely, the room was old and tired. Cleaning was poor with the balcony left unwashed and the bin in the bathroom left 3-4 times. Trying to get a drink in the one and only bar was ridiculous as they favoured the Spanish guests. Pool staff were more interested in chatting with each other than keeping an eye on guests. There were a few people smoking and were told off but only English holidaymakers. If you’re looking for a lovely fun family friendly break then unfortunately I would recommend not going here. Absolutely gutted as we work hard to get our one holiday a year.

Cleaning staff were lovely and friendly and did a great job but that’s where the good experience ends. The hotel does not cater for English guests with entertainment not being translated it is hard to get involved in anything. We were full board as I am pregnant and the food was terrible, no options that are child friendly. The staff are aggressive and rude, when I made the mistake of getting a glass of water in 30 degree heat from the all inclusive area I was made to put it back despite being 32 weeks pregnant and obviously struggling. On another night a man on the restaurant staff touched my pushchair without permission and before I could see who was moving the pushchair he pushed my shoulder multiple times to get my attention despite their being a near empty restaurant in front of me which he could’ve approached from. As a pregnant lady with two small children this frightened me and ruined my experience so I did not eat in the restaurant again after that. The indoor pool was quiet and so we decided to take the children in there out of the hot sun only to be chucked out for not having a swimming cap (who packs a swimming cap for holiday). Only one pool for 1000 guests and only one restaurant means feeling like sardines. Definitely not a 4 star and not family friendly. Entertainment for children being too late at 9:30. Children were told off for playing in the pool and taking toys in the pool? And the flies by the pool were terrible. I would not recommend this hotel and would never return. Have recommended JET2 remove this hotel from it’s packages.

Clean, Beachfront Hotel – But Not for British Holidaymakers I'll start by saying the hotel is absolutely spotless – a solid 10/10 for cleanliness. You can tell a lot of care goes into maintaining the resort. That said, this could be an amazing family destination if it catered to British guests. Unfortunately, everything seemed geared entirely toward Spanish and German visitors. The entertainment was very poor, with not a single English word spoken or any English music played during our stay. The food looked great visually, but sadly it lacked flavour and was quite bland. The lifeguards didn’t seem very attentive either – they mostly sat together in the corner of the pool area on their phones, rather than watching the swimmers. As for the sunbeds, while there are plenty, they’re crammed in so tightly there's no room to move or relax comfortably. It felt extremely overcrowded – and that was before the UK school holidays even began (perhaps the Spanish holidays had started?). In short, if you're a British family or couple looking for a more tailored experience, I’d suggest looking elsewhere. It's a shame because the hotel itself is in a perfect location, right on the beach, and is immaculately clean.
