The location cannot be beat. The hotel is in the old town, near the restaurants, tourist center, bus and train stations, and must-see sites. It is quite a nice hotel with good beds and modern amenities (the bathroom has a weirdly yellow light that I didn't care for though). But the real reason to stay here is for the hospitality/customer service. Forget the stereotypical snooty sorts who supposedly people this country. The staff of this hotel will startle you with their interest in helping you in every way they can. Not only do they take time and have utmost patience, they also will put callers on hold until they finish handling your problems. They are always smiling and polite...concierge service for a "regular" hotel room! It is worth staying here for this experience alone. I would definitely stay here again. This was the best customer service experience of my life!

Very comfortable hotel decorated in a modern style. Staff were excellent and there is a great choice for breakfast. A bar and in house meals are available but not tried. Several excellent restaurants are within ten minutes walk!

This is a lovely hotel, perfectly situated in the heart of Vieux Annecy. I’m sure they upgraded our room, it was excellent. We would stay there again without hesitation. We didn’t have breakfast or make much use of the bar, but we were surrounded with options. We very much enjoyed the stay, and it was good value

A great option for a comfortable stay in Annecy. The room was comfortable with a lovely balcony and view of the mountains and castle. They were accommodating for an early check in which was appreciated. The only challenge I had was with their parking option offered. It was in an underground garage around the corner from the property in a private parking garage that did not seem safe. I would much have preferred to have been advised to park in the public station across from the hotel.

Had a lovely stay at this hotel which is right by the main Annecy train and bus stations. The gentleman who checked us in was very friendly and even upgraded our room.
The room was lovely- very spacious with a large bathroom too- the shower could be improved.
Check in and out was very smooth and it's only about a 15 min walk from the lake.

The Best Western Plus Carlton is well located if you want to explore the old town and main points of interest in Annecy. It’s right next to the train station and just a short 5-10 min walk to the pedestrian-friendly area near the lake. Though in a lively area, the hotel itself was very quiet, which made for a peaceful and relaxing stay.
There are several parking options—either directly through the hotel or, for a more affordable choice, at the underground Parking Poste just across the street. The area also felt safe at all hours, with plenty of shops and amenities nearby.
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, providing a city map and a list of recommended restaurants, which was a nice touch. All in all, this place is a great base for exploring Annecy, whether you're arriving by train or car.

Good hotel right at the centre of Annecy. Lake on walking distance. Yannick welcomed us warmly. Room is good and finally TV with more possibilities. Breakfast is expensive (€22/p).

We asked for using the rest rooms because it was an imergency and all public toilets were out of order. We offered 5€ to pay. But the snobish receptionist just said no. Thank you Hotel Carlton for your nice and friendly service.

We stayed during a weekend trip from Geneva to Annecy. Carlos at reception was incredibly kind, helpful, and professional—unlike some of his colleagues, who were rude and unhelpful. The rooms are quite small, but the view from the balcony was absolutely stunning!
However, a major downside is the way this hotel treats guests based on room types, which is unacceptable for a 4-star hotel. For instance, you cannot get slippers unless you’re in a certain room category. It’s unbelievable! Even in 3-star hotels, we’ve received slippers, but here, at a supposedly high-standard 4-star chain, you are denied the sleepers in a very rude manner because you’re “not entitled to them.” Shameful!
On the positive side, the location is excellent—close to the bus station and the city center.
