The rooms are pretty simplistic for the price, but you have to keep in mind that Chamonix is a tourist destination so the prices are higher in general. Everyone working at the hotel is so friendly and kind; we didn’t speak any French but they always endeavored to help us in both English and Spanish, and I even forgot my backpack on the way out and they immediately called and texted me to let me know. Though the location is a 20-min walk (or 10 min bus ride on a bus that comes every 10ish min) from downtown, it’s right next to a park with a pond, an adventure park, a train station, and a bunch of hiking trails, and with how stunning the views are, we didn’t mind the walk at all. We also ended up having the continental-style breakfast there and we thought the food was very decent and the price was quite fair considering how pricey the town is as a whole. I would come back again!

The hotel is run by a nice family, it's located on a quiet residential street, there is a bus stop right next to the hotel and another bus and train stop within less than 10 minute walk. Technically you can walk to downtown too, it's about 20 minutes to the center. Parking is small (5 cars max) on gravel/grass, next to the hotel.
It could've been a pleasant stay but the rooms are just not good, unfortunately, on many levels. We traveled with a kid and had a room with extra bed. It's an old building and the original details and wood furniture are very cute but in general the room has all the charm and coziness of minimum security prison. The part of the room with extra beds (there isn't a door in between, it's all open) literally had just two beds and that's it. No nightstand, no reading lamp, no pictures on the wall, nothing. The light fixtures look like they were salvaged from a submarine.
We found only 2 electric outlets in the whole room and they were in very odd locations, close to the floor. So you can't leave your phone charging next to the bed like in any normal hotel.
The bed was so firm that I was tossing and turning all night and woke up with a bruise. This was the extra bed though, my partner said the double bed was OK. Only one small, flat pillow is provided. The bedding is rather low quality and you get a blanket that's too warm for summer and no flat sheet (I had to take the blanket out of the duvet cover in the middle of the night because I was hot). There is no AC but it's generally not needed: it's not hot at night and you can open windows. The birds will wake you up at 5 am though.
There are no amenities whatsoever in the room. You have to ask for a hair dryer when checking in and then return it. Have to ask for a tea kettle and cups. The hosts were very kind but I'd very much prefer not having to ask for such basic things.
Bathroom was the weirdest I've seen in the hotel ever. There was a bathtub and a hand shower but no shower curtain or place to hang the shower, so that you could wash up. I honestly don't know how this bathroom is supposed to be used. Do we like lay down and pour water over ourselves? So bizarre. The whole bathroom was just barebones (continuing with the prison theme). No hook to hang a robe, no place to dry the towels, no space for your cosmetics. Cheapest, terrible smelling shampoo, dated faucets.
The breakfast cost 10.50 EUR, which is inexpensive considering that a cup of tea is 4-5 EUR at all local restaurants. It was all cold though and exactly the same every day. Nice fresh bread, 2 types of cheese and cured meat, plain yogurt, some simple pastries and selection of jams. No fresh fruit (in summer), only canned. Would really appreciate some oatmeal or even a boiled egg but no luck. Thankfully, we stayed only a few nights. Were quite happy to leave.
This could've been a very nice place with minimum investment but I guess the owners are not really interested because it's a popular touristy area. Room price wasn't cheap and I felt it wasn't worth it considering location far from center and overall quality.
Older reviews state that you can get a free bus ticket. That's no longer the case in 2024. You can get a special "card" at the hotel, which oddly requires personal information of every guest. Then you have to go to some website and type in all the same information plus card number for a privilege to buy a discounted bus ticket. Then no one actually checks those tickets. You could just wave any random QR code and get in.
Bus service stops around 8:30 pm, so if you want to have a relaxing late dinner downtown, you'll have to walk to the hotel. There is nothing at all near the hotel, other than another lodge next door. But it also closes very early, so forget having an after-dinner drink there.
If you're OK with such spartan accommodations, no shower, and being away from everything, this might be a good hotel choice. Otherwise I don't recommend it.

Simple but pleasant hotel a short walk from Chamonix town centre, and right on the bus route to the main ski areas.
The room was quite small, but perfectly fine for our needs. Bed was comfy, heating was easy to adjust and the shower was decent. We even had views towards Mont Blanc from our beds! Great views to wake up to.
Breakfast is quite simple, but perfectly adequate.
We thought the team running the hotel were lovely. This is clearly a family operation and they're all very friendly and helpful.
The area is pretty quiet, although the hotel next door has a bar and restaurant so you don't need to trek into town if you don't want to. It would be nice to have hot water facilities in the room (for tea/coffee etc) but that's not a deal breaker.

This hotell is awesome, The service, The affordible price and The location is on point!
Just outside The dorr you have skibus access depature every 30 min to blevant and flegere (super crowded in The morning).
Petit and charmig hotell for The ones looking for a budget trip to charmonix.
The hotell can improve The standard of The rooms just a little bit and it would make a huge diffrent on The overall impression. Otherwise perfekt för skibumers! Recommend!

Horrible experience. The lady was super rude with me because my 6 months old puppy made a poo at the garden of the hotel while I was having a drink over there. I offered myself to clean it with the little dog bags and she kept saying I must leave the property immediately. I asked her for the complaints book and she said she didn't have it. Next door you have Vert Lodge a much better hotel, with better amenities and a much better staff!
