Avignon, 20 Rue Galante 🧭 Map
What a fantastic find. This hotel is beautiful in its authentic French style topped only by the service from it's owners, Stefan and Emmanuelle who could not do enough to ensure that our short stay was perfect. Stefan gave us some fantastic recommendations for dinner and also to cover the main sites as our stay was only for two days. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. We will certainly be...
Absolutely delightful Hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is incredible to explore the town. The proprietors are knowledgeable and helpful. The breakfast is a MUST! Delicious homemade everything even yogurt!
The hotel location is very convenient, its a quick walk to the train station on one side and the Palais des Papes one the other side. A lot of popular restaurants nearby the hotel. The host is very friendly and helped us to confirm our travel plans to other sites outside of Avignon. The room is spacious and clean, the window overlooks a beautiful quiet street. The only downside is to carry our luggage...
Amazingly helpful staff, Stephan has helped us for reservations in Avignon but also for our further trip to South of France. Attention to detail and human touch. Also location of the property is very good for discovering Avignon.
This hotel is where I stayed (by myself) for 2 nights in December 2021. The building is conveniently located smack in the centre of town, a 10 minutes’ walk from the train station. The room I stayed in (nr. 7) was quiet, with all the furniture you might expect, including what I think is an antique English wardrobe. The amenities are fine – plenty of electrical sockets, there’s WiFi, and the shower...
Great hotel, top service, good rooms and magnificent breakfast. The entire breakfast was home-made and the rosemary-apricot confiture was beyond delicious. We arrived quite late but still they took the time to point out nice restaurants en places to go to. Since we only stayed for one night we already planned to go back!

I really enjoyed my two days here. Very good breakfast and it was no problem when we asked if we could have it at seven already. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I was there with my bike and they have a locked garage for them which is accessible with the elevator, very convenient when you have 20 kg of language. The rooms have ac and the beds are comfortable. We've had a very big balcony...
The personal its great, friendly and very helpfuly, the rooms are clean but need a little bit more love, and some renovación.
Acceptable hotel that we used for bed and breakfast on a short stop in the city. We chose it because it has a charging spot for EV in the parking. They said they had 2, one generic electric cars and one only for Teslas. I didn't see the generic one, but the Tesla one worked great. Instead of 10 EUR for the parking, you pay 15 EUR and that includes charging it for all night. It was not possible to...
Great location. Great owners! We stayed longer then we purpose to and that was no problem at all. The people are really friendly and professional. And not least, the hotel is clean. The rooms are clean and fresh and the breakfast is really good. I recommend this hotel.
Location was good for exploring, off road parking available (at a cost). Reception and dinning area were reasonable, what let it down for us was the quality of bedroom and bathroom. The shower head fixing had broken and not been repaired. And the bedroom was more like accommodation you'd expect in a hostel than a hotel. Price was reasonable for area but we were expecting a little more than we received...

Our stay at Hotel Le Bristol was off to a very good start when we were welcomed prior to check in by the lovey staff. We dropped off our bags and were handed a map of Avignon and given lots of advice of where to go, eat and enjoy the area. How positive! Over the course of our stay the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. They serviced our rooms with attention to detail every day. There was the occasional...
I loved staying here. It's close to everything to see in Avignon, easy to get to from the train station, it's wonderfully decorated, and the staff were all courteous and friendly. My room was clean and comfortable, and I had more space than in other French hotel rooms (which are notoriously small). I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area.
Nice hotel with big rooms. Free lemon infused water and croissant and pastries near the reception. Nice lavazza coffee machine in the room. Good body lotion, shampoo and soap. I don't like that the bathroom is separate from the toilet.
I booked the hotel because the interior design was so pretty. The facilities were very clean and the staff were kind! The breakfast was varied. it was close to the station and square, so nice.
Very nice hotel 5 minutes walking from main attractions. Perfect if you come by car as there is a big parking just in front of it. Clean and spacious room, really above the average in this area ☺️ Nice furniture and design in the room and in common area. It is really nice to see it and walk around. More to this, really good price value, recommended!
Big king bed. Roomy bathroom but not all have a tub. Quiet. Easy walking within the old city. Downside are the stairs to the lobby and elevator if you have heavy luggage.

Wonderful hotel in Avignon! Grand hotel in a good location! Welcoming reception desk. Lovely outdoor patio seating for the bar for an afternoon respite. AND the room was beyond spectacular! Highly recommend!
Good service and ok rooms but you pay 500 euros a night (!!!!) for a room during the festival and you can’t sleep because there are concerts late at night on place du Crillon at volume levels unheard of except in rave parties in the middle of nowhere
Wonderful atmospheric old hotel. Full of charm. Very good quality bedding, linen. Many fine antique furniture pieces and ornaments. Delightful enclosed square.
What a lovely place dating back several hundred years. We found the room spacious (by any country’s standards) and very clean. Breakfast was always a delight with excellent hit and cold choices and good service. The staff was very helpful and pleasant, whether we needed assistance with booking a rental car, requesting dinner reservations, or just asking their opinion about what parts of Provence...
Too class hotel with room amenities, hotel lounge and great lication in the old city and the Papal Palais.

this is an intimate and cozy hotel with an excellent location. It may not be the most beautiful and modern hotel in town, but what makes it so successful is the great service! We got a personal treatment and a warm welcome from all the hotel employees. Everyone was so happy to help us in a kindly way. Aida and the rest of the team have made our stay pleasant. thank you so much. Assaf Zagrizak and...
Nice hotel but doesn't really deserve 4 starts off say. Location is great. Staff nice and welcoming
Friendly reception. Old historical building with some character, but hotel and rooms are little run-down. Overpriced - they sell the location. The kettle was not working, and they promised to replace it... but nothing happened. Hotel is not wheel-chair suited. Breakfast was excellent.
Exceptional staff in a quaint hotel in a perfect location in Avignon. Breakfast was excellent each morning. Our original booking was delayed due to covid. Integrity of hotel impeccable as original terms were honored and even received a small refund - very unexpected. This hotel was a pleasant and relaxing experience after starting our trip in Paris. My wife and I would only stay at this hotel should...
We were sent here after our initial lodging proved to be inaccessible to mobility impaired. If I had unlimited resources, I might have stayed a month!! Front desk personnel were so helpful and told us how to get our US Covid 19 Vaccine cards switched to the French sanitary certificate. Not one problem after that. Great location. Simply great everything!! If you want a view of the street, and the...
Excellent location. Bang in the centre but quiet in hotel. Room we stayed in ('traditional room') was very small and almost claustrophobic. The walls are very thin and you can hear next door and outside the room. The bath shower was not working properly and you had to pull the plug very hard to instigate the shower nozzle to work. The receptionist came up and explained that there is a 'trick to it...

Hotel great. No restaurant room service of VERY limited menu only. Weather hot. Air conditioning in rooms is either not up to the job or manipulated from elsewhere. It makes NO difference how you set the controls in your room. My father was taken ill on rhe journey here ans the very ineffective air conditioning in his room did not contribute to him feeling any better at all.
Great little hotel well decorated and clean. Well situtated close to the Palais des Papes. Would have liked the towels to be thicker

This was a great hotel for the cost and our needs. Location was in the center of Avignon and yet it wasn't a far walk to get to the train/bus station for outside of town attractions. There was a refrigerator, water boiler with coffee and tea supplies, as well as air conditioning that worked well. The...
The service at the reception was professional. They were helpful. The location is perfect. It's a straight walk from the train station. The room was spacious for 2 people. It was clean. However, it is showing signs of aging. Overall a good value for the price.
Great location and friendly staffs. However, the room is quite old. Not an ideal place for honey moon but nice for staying for travel.

Nice hotel with great services! I ordered room services there and the food was great!
Large & clean rooms (they will however need a little revamp soon to keep the “Grand” in Grand Hotel 😅), good location to explore the old town, parking available right next to the hotel.
We had a really lovely experience at the hotel. The staff were very helpful and we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a garden view suite. If you have a car, as we did, you can park nearby in the St Charles underground car park. Speak with the hotel as they can arrange a discount for you.
The entire staff is extremely professional and service focused. They ensure your stay is most enjoyable. The rooms are quaint, clean and very comfortable. The location is conveniently near key Metro and bus lines. Their breakfast is outstanding. The Aiglon will be the destination of our future vacations in Paris.

An extraordinary and beautiful hotel in the middle of Avignon. A late 16th century Jesuit Novitiate, it retains the character. We walked to our huge, high ceilinged room through the beautifully preserved chapel. The room was long, probably a monks dormitory. Simply furnished, which seems appropriate! Good hanging space that divides the room. The bathroom and loo are separate, the toiletries, l'occoccitane...
Quirky. Lots of potential but hotel felt unloved and in need of some TLC. Staff nice but felt under resourced. Couldn't tell if bar or restaurant was open despite signs saying so .. courtyard a massive missed opportunity compared to others in the city. Weird access to our room via emergency stairs or chapel
So much to say about this hotel. We were off to a great start, but as our 4-night stay went on it only got worse. We were told we would need to change rooms after two nights, we would be upgraded (and had to pay for the executive room) due to unavailability, fair enough, we were just glad they had space for us. They informed us that we would just need to pack our bags and the hotel staff would move...
Not sure why all the complaints. This is a very quaint hotel built in a refurbished monastry. Of course the design has to accommodate the structure of the old building. Its very charming and the rooms are huge with modern facilities inside. The rooms overlook the center garden of the monastry. Location is tops. Walking distance to main sights. Onsite parking available and spacious, unlike some garage...
Pleasant and helpful staff. Great breakfast. Bedrooms vary widely, have tiny toilet rooms that were difficult for me to negotiate. Rooms in "new" part of hotel have catwalk approach, louvered shutters covering balcony. Room initially assigned to me was on the top floor, had no windows, only a skylight covered by a shade, and open shower area. Cloister view from main hallway is lovely.
I think we would’ve enjoyed our stay more if we did not stay on the “modern” side as advertised on their website. The room had stained carpet and what looked like spilled coffee streaks on the wall. The bathroom and shower were in a hallway attached to the room and had a very strong musty/moldy smell. With that being said, the rooms on the other side looked much nicer and cleaner with terracotta floors...

Great location next to Palais des Papes, perfect for exploring main sites in Avignon. Welcome from reception was very good. Rooms are ok, decor a little tired. No bar did not have breakfast so can't comment on quality. Main issue if you bring a hire car is finding a parking spot in the underground public car park (20% discount through hotel) as spaces are limited and rather narrow for modern vehicles...
We had a wonderful experience at the Mercure Centre Palais des Papes. The room was comfortable and the service fantastic. Special thanks to Noemie, Aldo and Yoanne for your help in making our stay enjoyable.
The staff was super friendly and nice and rooms here are great. Shower had enough room and fine as well. EXCELLENT location near restaurants. Gorgeous but limited views of the pope palace and DIRECTLY next door. Giving three stars due to the toilet being TINY. About 2.5 feet by 3 or something close to that! No room to stand, turn around, pull your pants up, etc. The other issue is parking/luggage...
It's an old hotel but the staff is friendly and the rooms are quite. It's location is amazing, very short distances to all important sightseeings of Avignon.
The hotel and breakfast were very nice but the shower and bathrooms were a bit odd.
A nice hotel very well located just to the side of the Popes Palace and with easy walk of all the main attractions of the town including the bridge. Central hotel. Ask for room in the back, very quiet. The ones facing the main street are probably noisier. Simple breakfast, which was fine with me.
A great location central to everything, just a short walk from the train station. Reception was especially welcoming & got my room ready early whilst I left my bag there.
