Reviews
The usb slots in the wall are old .. not the C type.
They even charged me the wrong amount whej I had shared an email confirmation of my Trip.com invoice.
Overall, it is disappointing based on the price.
Nothing bad but nothing good was what we agreed Asa a family. Staff were the bright point, very helpful and friendly.
The hotel’s location is next to a tram stop, just few stops from the hearth of Lyon, so perfect for exploring the city.
Breakfast was delightful with a wide variety of options to please everyone.
Parking was like a little maze but was well marked and felt very secure.
It was the ideal stopover and we will definitely be back. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Lyon!
- Uncomfortable Accommodations: Upon our arrival, we were given a room with a sofa bed that was incredibly uncomfortable due to protruding springs. When we reported this to the reception, the only solution offered was a blanket to place over the bed. No effort was made to change our room or provide a more suitable sleeping arrangement.
- Poor Cleanliness Standards: On the second day of our stay, we found old apples left in the fridge from previous guests. We also discovered used shower gel in the shower, further indicating that the room had not been properly cleaned. To make matters worse, after returning from the hotel pool on our third day we discovered a used nappy in the corner of our room. This lack of cleanliness is completely unacceptable and poses serious health risks.
- Health and Safety Issues: After using the hotel pool, our elder sister developed severe rashes all over her body, which were later diagnosed by a pharmacist as a fungal infection – commonly caused by poorly maintained swimming pools. When we reported this to the hotel, their response was dismissive and unhelpful. The manager, Charlotte, suggested it was caused by bug bites and refused to acknowledge the pool's condition as a potential cause, demanding a doctor's note to substantiate our claim- we do not have a doctor in Lyon and the condition is not life threatening for us to go to the A&E.
- Disrespectful and Unprofessional Management: The hotel's manager, Charlotte, was dismissive of our complaints. After acknowledging some of the cleanliness issues, her solution was to suggest that we vacate our room by 7:30 pm on our last day, giving us slightly over an hour's notice. This is not only impractical but shows a complete lack of respect for guests who have already endured multiple inconveniences.
- Violation of Privacy: Despite placing a "Do Not Disturb" sign on our door, we returned to find a staff member making our bed. This blatant disregard for guest privacy is alarming and adds to the overall sense of disrespect we felt from the hotel staff.
Overall, this hotel failed in every aspect of hospitality – from room cleanliness and guest safety to customer service and management professionalism. The manager’s response to our complaints was dismissive and irresponsible, further aggravating an already stressful situation.
We have photographic evidence of all the issues mentioned above and are considering further action, including sharing our experience on social media and seeking legal advice. We hope this review helps others avoid the same unpleasant experience.
Bottom Line: Stay away from this hotel! There are plenty of other options in Lyon that offer far better service, cleanliness, and respect for their guests.
