Great place with comfortable rooms and amazing pools. Was the perfect stop over on the way to the South of France. It’s made clear that if you don’t book the spa access the pools are not included so there should be no surprises on that.

Really intriguing place to stay in for a weekend. Lots of small restaurants around and intact architecture to explore. I'm really impressed with the social atmosphere in Lyon. We enjoyed four beautiful nights in this elegant, beautiful hotel. The rooms are gorgeous and well appointed, particularly the bathrooms. Service was personal, friendly, nothing was ever a problem. The views of the old town are fantastic, but be prepared for the walk, Uber or scooter ride up and down the hill each day if you’re planning to stay here to explore Lyon over several days.

For the price, this hotel is fantastic. Everyone who works there is really helpful, and everyone speaks English, which is a huge plus for me. My only issue was the air conditioning, or serious lack of it. The week we were in Lyon it was routinely 80-90 degrees F out and the air conditioning in the room didn’t seem to even make a dent in the heat. The hotel room was a good size, everything worked and it was very clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and staff were extremely helpful. It was about a 10minute walk to Vieux lyon which suited us fine to be away from the crowds. We alos appreciated the welcome drink.

I only had a business dinner at ZUCCA Restaurant of Marriott Hotel Cité International, but it was an outstanding experience. The dinner was exquisite, perfectly paired with excellent wine, and the dessert was both delicate and delicious. The waiters were exceptionally kind, professional, and attentive. Highly recommended!

Welcoming front desk and quick to check in. The room we stayed in did let the rating down though and so I wouldn't say this was a four star hotel unfortunately. A separate toilet in what could only be described as a cupboard was barely big enough for a grown man. The coffee making facilities were very basic too.

A nice Best Western Hotel located on a secondary street close to the Rhone and the Wilson bridge. The receptionists are very hospitable. My room on the 7th floor was very nice, good size and well decorated room with a nice bathroom. The breakfast buffet offered a good variety of products. The hotel is calm and yet close to the heart of the city.

My husband and I stayed here for a few nights while touring Lyon. We were unexpectedly upgraded to a suite room with a balcony that overlooked the river and Notre Dame. We had an excellent stay at this hotel. Staff is very helpful, relax and super friendly. The hotel restaurant offers delicious food at great price value. The park the la tete d'or is within walking distance and offers some nice activities - in particular when travelling with small kids.

The hotel is located next to park area and with direct bus access to the city centre. There is a play area in the ground floor for kids, and gym available in the hotel. A star was taken as air conditioning was not functioning properly.

Very convenient for the train station, you go in through the square archway in the middle of the building, friendly reception and our request for a quiet room was respected (top floor). Great location if you come for a seminar by train to Lyon Perrache. Take the exit Court Savoie or Rue Carnot and the hotel is only a few meters on the left. Reception is at the same level then the train station exits. Very handy. Train and metro 4 stations. Very nice decor as this is an old château. Breakfast OK but not amazing for 19 euros. Good facility for a c. 150 PEOPLE. Helpful staff

Nice hotel, rooms are clean and spacious. The parking underneath is a subject for prior booking! We have got no place to park. Unfortunately the personnel could not make us a breakfast to takeaway for an early checkout, which I though is a standard around the world.

Very comfortable and quiet on weekends. Beautiful interior, nice view and friendly personal. Breakfast is frensh and good, coffee delicious. Beds are cosy and excellent sleep.

The view from the room was very beautiful. We booked two different room types, one with a red theme and one with a blue theme. They were both gorgeous. The bathroom was large and the breakfast was delicious.

The service attitude is good, and the location is good, but the facilities in the hotel room are too old. The TV automatically turns off after turning it on. I called the service staff, and after watching it for two minutes and leaving, it automatically turns off again. The cabinet under the TV, the door on the left falls down when the door is opened. Great time in Lyon with hotel Le royal. Love the location and the helpful team, as well as the clean and cozy room that I stayed. Well function and with design. Love the wonderful view from the balcony too
