Sofitel Lyon Bellecour

we were able to get into our room a little bit earlier than the check-in of 4 PM which was much appreciated. Our room had a spectacular view of the Rhone. Everyone from the front desk to the Bell person was very helpful. The room was very comfortable. However, it could have used a few more outlets, and the shower tub combination was not great as the tub was quite high to have to step into. otherwise, our stay was very comfortable and I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay there again

Hotel is ideally located for exploring the city. Concierge was a great source of knowledge and advice on what to see and do. Staff overall were so helpful. Hotel is immaculately clean and well maintained. I had a wonderful stay and would recommend highly

Really recommend this hotel. Perfect location in Lyon, Valet parking (€30/night). Lovely lobby and entrance, meeting 5 star expectations. Very friendly, capable and professional staff too! Location was as good as we could expect. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay,complimentary minibar (water, soft drinks and nuts) more than made-up for this. I will stay here again on our next trip to Lyon.

We stayed for one week 3 rooms and we loved the location, staff and the breakfast. Valentine at the concierge was superb, with all suggestions in what to do and ready to help. Hotel is located in the perfect spot close to Old Town Lyon or across the River. Rooms are small but for Europe standards they are big, in my opinion. Breakfast is located on the top floor with amazing views of Lyon, and the staff is great and always ready to serve you. I will come back soon and I truly recommend Sofitel Lyon Bellecour for your next stay in Lyon.

Location of this hotel is not bad.
Parking also exists and they have own places.
The room is also fine and a team is friendly.
For me always important that a mattress is comfortable, otherwise i cannot sleep and here the mattress was good.

Very comfortable bed. Good air conditioning. Pleasant and helpful staff. Breakfast expensive but some good alternative options nearby. Very pleased with our corner room with view over the Rhone.

To be honest: I love this hotel. I've been visiting since 2010 now, and I love the location, the big old style rooms and the friendly service.
However,there was an atmosphere as if the place was going to be shut down sooner then later when I stayed here last week: 2 of the 3 elevators were broken down and there was no airconditioning in the hotel (not in public spaces nor the rooms).

It was weird to hear from the frontend staff that it was just our room and that the reason was that the system had just been booted up, so it took some time for it to be up and running. Not sure what kind of airco units they're are using, but they are of a very special kind indeed. Maybe they manage to cool the hotel by winter. Later we observed people changing multiple times for a room where the airco was ok-ish.

It's so sad to see a hotel that was maintained well slowly crumble down: entries that are closed off, elevators, airco...

I love the old rooms: they're spacious, have huge wardrobes, have a bathtub: many things that are a thing of the past in new hotels.

For me this hotel is a big no no in summer as from now on, as Lyon gets very hot. It leaves me sad to see one of my favourite hotels in this situation. I hope the heating is better than the cooling as I plan to come back in winter.

As a loyal Accor customer, I hope it receives quickly some love & care to bring it back to its former Sofitel glory. Otherwise it won't fit any of the Accor brands anymore in the future.
So please tell me you have a plan?

Comfortable plush bed and view of the old city. Convenient to the shopping district and historical sites! Lovely restaurant marked with gluten-free items!
