The location is fantastic on top of a hill overlooking Lyon. Staff are very courteous and professional, but hotel needs to be updated. Specially the pool and spa area. The tiles of the pool were literally chipped off. It looked dated. Room has a nice view to the garden, but it does not feel luxurious. I am not sure about five star , this hotel is at best 3 or 4 star.

Great: Staff, view, wellness area. Room is rather small for the price. You should be in decent shape as the hill is quite steep or you’ll have to Uber every time you want to go out.

We enjoyed four beautiful nights in this elegant, beautiful hotel. The rooms are gorgeous and well appointed, particularly the bathrooms. Service was personal, friendly, nothing was ever a problem. The views of the old town are fantastic, but be prepared for the walk, Uber or scooter ride up and down the hill each day if you’re planning to stay here to explore Lyon over several days.

Staff are outstanding, so helpful, efficient and friendly. Receptionists, concierge team are fantastic. They helped plan my sightseeing and organised 2 great taxis during my stay. Very central location with great public transport connectivity. Airport tram is a minute away too. There is a huge mall 5 minutes from the hotel so if you want shopping it is very convenient. It is right next to the gare but there are two tiers of windows so no sound gets into the room. Good value for money. Would definitely stay again on my next visit.

We were driving from Germany to Spain, and this was a great mid point. The hotel has a great location, near a train and tram station. Good restaurants in the vicinity. The hotel is clean and spacious. It has a good bar at the reception area.

Although it was a short stay, I was pleased with the comfortable, spacious room assigned. I was also given instructions to use the bus system and a map of where to visit Lyon. The breakfast was OK, as well. Also appreciated the filtered water fountain near reception. Glad I chose Mercure vs. other options nearby.

Sad that maintenance is falling down as this is a good location for an overnight at the train station. There is a lot of mold in the shower. The headboard of the bed needs replacement. Because the company has decided to control the temperature limit of the rooms they need to provide light weight bedding instead of the heavy duvets. A fan would be nice too. The hotel is FANTASTIC if you are coming to Lyon. Everyone is super helpful and friendly especially Gloria! I am a 70 year old person who was traveling by herself and I felt very safe and well taken care of. Highly recommend!

We were informed that the table wasn't cleared after breakfast the day before yesterday. Honestly, we weren't aware that guests are expected to clean up after themselves, especially at a 100 euro per night hotel. There weren't any signs explaining the breakfast policy, and unfortunately, the staff member who spoke to us only communicated in French, making it difficult to understand the procedures

Great location and low price but exceptionally noisy . Tiny toilets with macerator flush units were extremely noisy. In addition paprt thin walls and a crèche opposite alongside my room being beside the cleaners store room made for a not very restful stay. Nice small hotel with small, clean rooms, nice, clean bathrooms. Excellent continental breakfast. However, the reception area is on the second floor, rooms are on floors above, and there is no elevator. Be prepared to climb narrow staircases, carrying your own luggage.

Perfect location, my room had the view on the place and Théâtre des Célestins. The room was big and I didn't hear any of the neighboring rooms so sound proofing is good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Finally, for a location that central, value for money is great.

Very nice modern hotel decorated in an eclectic style in a superb location with some very good bars and restaurants and within walking distance of both the station and park. Conveniently located near the TGV station of Perrache. Near the Metro and Tram lines. Quality is above of what is expected from a budget hotel. It has basic AC in the rooms although it will fell slightly warm on hot days. Staff is friendly and willing to help all the time. The hotel is located very far from the station, the staff is friendly and helpful and they try their best to help you. I can only recommend, I will add one small minus, the room I occupied (single for one person) was small but good enough to spend only nights. Good luck to the entire hotel team during their difficult times. If I have to return to Lyon, I will not hesitate to return. Thank you

This hotel is very well located in the city center. There's an excellent grocery store directly across the street which was helpful for buying water, wine, and some snacks to keep in our room. We stayed in Room 204 and it was at the end of the hall, away from the elevator. Even though it was street-facing, it was very quiet and we had a mini fridge which was great. We’ve requested a cot , the lady at the reception didn’t help , she told my husband that if want a crip then he should collect it from the storage room of the hotel and assemble it ! Very good location to walk to central shopping area or historical centre. Room was big (we were a family of 2 adults and 2 children) and clean, breakfast was very good. Only downside was the parking which was a bit pricey and the overall cost of the stay, again on the pricey side. but all in all a very good choice

Great location if you come for a seminar by train to Lyon Perrache. Take the exit Court Savoie or Rue Carnot and the hotel is only a few meters on the left. Reception is at the same level then the train station exits. Very handy. Train and metro 4 stations. Very nice decor as this is an old château. Breakfast OK but not amazing for 19 euros. Nice hotel, rooms are clean and spacious. The parking underneath is a subject for prior booking! We have got no place to park. Unfortunately the personnel could not make us a breakfast to takeaway for an early checkout, which I though is a standard around the world.

I stayed here one night while travelling on business.. What an amazing place.. especially the building it's self! It's a gem from the turn of the last century .. The interior designers have done a good job preserving the original features, although I guess some were lost in under the demand for modern facilities.. If true?.. that's our fault! It has a central location beside the railway station....

Personnel was nice, room was a bit small, but okay. The bathroom drain wasn't fully functioning but overall it was okay. We are vegan and there are no vegan option at all for breakfast. (hence 4 stars instead of 5 in the rating, because for this standing, not having vegan option is a pity).

Stayed for one week in a privilege room. Location is good as you're near to metro, there are nice bars (such as Ninkasi) & restaurants in the area. Room is spacious and comfortable (much better than what I usually get in similar price range). Would be 5* if not for the breakfast. It is the same every day and the variety of some of the foods is not great.

The hotel is undergoing renovations. The main entrance is from the rear of the building, into a parking area, then into a hall way. In the hallway sits a person behind a small, cheap desk. And so it goes.

I was very happy with the value for the money paid. Staff was nice & helpful. Comfortable bed and large bathroom (not often that this happens in Europe). Small fridge in room with nearby grocery stores if you don’t want to eat out 3 meals/day. Just a few blocks from the metro and walkable to “Old Lyon.” I will definitely stay here again when I come back to Lyon.

Found this place through Secret Escapes, but it is nowhere near their ordinary standard. This is a regular 3 star hotel. Fine at neat and very reasonably priced - but nothing special.

This place was super quirky but had a lot of good things going for it. The location is right in the center of the old city with a ton of classic Lyonnais restaurants in every direction, as well as plenty of patisseries, gift shops, and the marionettes museums. Really intriguing place to stay in for a weekend. Lots of small restaurants around and intact architecture to explore. I'm really impressed with the social atmosphere in Lyon. Stayed 3 nights at the Hotel des Savoies. Amazing location ( if you don't mind walking 20 minutes to locations ), great breakfast and friendly staff with a smile. The room & bathroom were a lot smaller than we expected. The shower had great pressure and was clean. We suggest changing the pillows as they are clumpy and uncomfortable.
