Lyon, 8 rue Professeur Pierre Marion 🧭 Map
The location is fantastic on top of a hill overlooking Lyon. Staff are very courteous and professional, but hotel needs to be updated. Specially the pool and spa area. The tiles of the pool were literally chipped off. It looked dated. Room has a nice view to the garden, but it does not feel luxurious. I am not sure about five star , this hotel is at best 3 or 4 star.
Great: Staff, view, wellness area. Room is rather small for the price. You should be in decent shape as the hill is quite steep or you’ll have to Uber every time you want to go out.
Very nice hotel design, great staff. Bartender knew what he was doing, and was game for something interesting (eg. Tequila Old Fashioned). Rooms are as you would expect at a place like this, although I found there to be a little lack of drawer/storage space to unpack for a few days. Bathrooms have separate small rooms for shower and WC - a definite plus - and although there is the ubiquitous window...
We enjoyed four beautiful nights in this elegant, beautiful hotel. The rooms are gorgeous and well appointed, particularly the bathrooms. Service was personal, friendly, nothing was ever a problem. The views of the old town are fantastic, but be prepared for the walk, Uber or scooter ride up and down the hill each day if you’re planning to stay here to explore Lyon over several days.
Staff are outstanding, so helpful, efficient and friendly. Receptionists, concierge team are fantastic. They helped plan my sightseeing and organised 2 great taxis during my stay. Housekeeping was also top notch and nothing was a problem. Very helpful bringing in extra bedding etc. Lovely room service and bar team. Great relaxing bar for drinks and meals. Fabulous bedroom overlooking garden. Faultless...

Mercure Lyon Centre - Gare Part Dieu, Lyon1 / 50

Lyon, 50 Rue de la Villette 🧭 Map
Very central location with great public transport connectivity. Airport tram is a minute away too. There is a huge mall 5 minutes from the hotel so if you want shopping it is very convenient. It is right next to the gare but there are two tiers of windows so no sound gets into the room. Good value for money. Would definitely stay again on my next visit.
Second time going, 2 years apart. Still a great experience. Excellent location (right in front of airport shuttle, next to Part-Dieu train station). Excellent city views if you're high up. Only downside this time around: the shower needs to be fixed, as both showerheads were operating at once (one wouldn't stop dripping overhead, which was rather unpleasant). Considering I was in a 9th floor suite...
We were driving from Germany to Spain, and this was a great mid point. The hotel has a great location, near a train and tram station. Good restaurants in the vicinity. The hotel is clean and spacious. It has a good bar at the reception area.
Although it was a short stay, I was pleased with the comfortable, spacious room assigned. I was also given instructions to use the bus system and a map of where to visit Lyon. The breakfast was OK, as well. Also appreciated the filtered water fountain near reception. Glad I chose Mercure vs. other options nearby.
Sad that maintenance is falling down as this is a good location for an overnight at the train station. There is a lot of mold in the shower. The headboard of the bed needs replacement. Because the company has decided to control the temperature limit of the rooms they need to provide light weight bedding instead of the heavy duvets. A fan would be nice too. The fan in the ac unit was noisy in our room...
The hotel is FANTASTIC if you are coming to Lyon. Everyone is super helpful and friendly especially Gloria! I am a 70 year old person who was traveling by herself and I felt very safe and well taken care of. Highly recommend!

Adorable boutique hotel in the Lyon. A great breakfast if you don't want to think too much about it in the morning. The staff were very friendly and we're happy to point us in the direction of a street with the local restaurant scene
Great location within 10 minutes walking from the old town. Friendly staff and decent breakfast. Small room with remodeled bathroom. Overall it is a great price for the value.
Clean hotel and my room had air con which I was very thankful for! Staff were very welcoming and helpful, providing suggestions for things to do and places to visit. Very well located.
Wonderful hotel in a great location. The staff and owner are very friendly and made us feel extremely comfortable during our stay. The location couldn't be better, I don't think. 2 blocks from the farmers market and tons of shopping and restaurants. We stayed for 4 nights and will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Lyon. Our room had a beautiful view of the basilica. The room was clean...
We had an absolutely lovely three night stay at the Hotel des Celestins. It is perfectly situated for discovering Lyon on foot. The staff welcomed us with a smile. Our room was a bit small (we will reserve a larger room on our next visit). It was clean, with a comfortable bed and a powerful shower. The room overlooked the street and was quiet. My only suggestion for the hotel is a revamp of the...

Excellent rapport quality price. Really kind and helpful staff...Sonny and Moustafa on reception were amazing. ;?) Great Ccentral location, rooms quiet as sound insulation and window glazing top notch. Recommend.
It was ok, the location was convenient enough. Rooms were clean, a bit run down and basic. Too few elevators for the size of the hotel and the keycards rarely fuctioned as should. Basic breaksfast.
Very good hotel, great and easy to reach location, full of bars, restaurants, takeaway and shops. Service was very professional and the breakfast had all sort of food, salty, sweet..but the best was the coffee! Finally great coffee in a hotel breakfast. Sleeping quality 10 to 10! Very silent room! Had a great stay
We were informed that the table wasn't cleared after breakfast the day before yesterday. Honestly, we weren't aware that guests are expected to clean up after themselves, especially at a 100 euro per night hotel. There weren't any signs explaining the breakfast policy, and unfortunately, the staff member who spoke to us only communicated in French, making it difficult to understand the procedures
Right next to the train station Gare Part Dieu Lyon, easy access & there's train info monitor in the hotel as well. Free flow of water, tea, & coffee + mini croissant ya. Just the room is small & can't open wide the baggage ya. We're happy stayed here.😍
Good location, convenient for getting to my office! The rooms are nice, nothing special but totally fine. Unfortunately there is no gym or fitness center, since I was there for 5 days for work it would have been a nice addition. The breakfast is pretty good and has lots of choice!

Be aware that this hotel hasn’t got a lift ( just like many hotels in Europe that located in heritage building area) so it doesn’t suit people who carry big suitcases. Hotel is located very close to central area. There are so many restaurants and cafes nearby. Very convenient location and easy to walk to the old Lyon town. It was quite noisy on Friday and Saturday night but that is not a problem for...
Great location but no AC which sucks in the summer. In spring and fall it would be amazing though, I'm sure. View of cathedral side is better.
Great location and low price but exceptionally noisy . Tiny toilets with macerator flush units were extremely noisy. In addition paprt thin walls and a crèche opposite alongside my room being beside the cleaners store room made for a not very restful stay. Do Not Disturb notices would also be useful instead of the cleaner constantly knocking on the door to see if the room is empty. Breakfast was juice...
Great hotel. Really enjoyed my stay here. Location is excellent and the rooms are very clean.
Nice small hotel with small, clean rooms, nice, clean bathrooms. Excellent continental breakfast. However, the reception area is on the second floor, rooms are on floors above, and there is no elevator. Be prepared to climb narrow staircases, carrying your own luggage.
Perfect location, my room had the view on the place and Théâtre des Célestins. The room was big and I didn't hear any of the neighboring rooms so sound proofing is good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Finally, for a location that central, value for money is great.

Great hotel and great value if you book directly on their website. Location is ideal if you need to be close to Part Dieu station. Otherwise it’s about half hour walk to the center.
Beautiful hotel situated in a quiet district of Lyon. The staff are wonderful and fluent in English. Free coffee and a wine machine my wife now wants at home! 🤣 Very recommended.
Everything was truly perfect: clean, great bathroom, ideal location (away a bit from the more touristy parts but still central and near good bars and cafes), and beautiful breakfast (worth it to opt for the rate including it). We especially appreciated the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to reassign us to a room without stairs when we first arrived. Highly recommended, and we'll stay...
Very nice modern hotel decorated in an eclectic style in a superb location with some very good bars and restaurants and within walking distance of both the station and park. Very good breakfast but unfortunately on 2 mornings they had no eggs. Comfortable bed and modern bathroom with italian walk-in shower. Nice friendly staff. I would stay again. Recommend.
Very nice hotel in Lyon, clean and wide rooms. The crew is very pleasant and speak very good english.

Great location near train, bus and tram stations. We had a great view of the river from our window. The stuff was very friendly, especially the blue-eyed boy at the reception who checked us in! The cleanliness of the room was okay (not too bad, not too good either). On the other hand, the room was pretty small, the sink very low and the AC was very loud when put in max volume. Also, the matress was...
Conveniently located near the TGV station of Perrache. Near the Metro and Tram lines. Quality is above of what is expected from a budget hotel. It has basic AC in the rooms although it will fell slightly warm on hot days. Staff is friendly and willing to help all the time. Items like iron and hair dryer are available at the desk upon request. It is next to the river and a major road but no noise inside
You can't beat the price/quality ratio! But the room was very small. If you're not interested in spending a lot of time in the room, this place is fantastic! Great location, clean and quiet ?

Great location, comfortable rooms Good breakfast with choices for hot or cold.
Friendly staff, clean room & is in the heart of the city which is fast accessible to all.
Professional, welcoming and helpful from the first call until I left. In addition to simple and pleasant amenities such as a gym, we can see the smiles of the teams through the mask. See you soon ? (special dedication to Miss M 🤣)
Very good hotel (stayed 6/7 times). Good breakfast. Clean room. Welcome. I recommend closing your eyes (having slept in other highly rated hotels in Lyon).
The hotel is located very far from the station, the staff is friendly and helpful and they try their best to help you. I can only recommend, I will add one small minus, the room I occupied (single for one person) was small but good enough to spend only nights. Good luck to the entire hotel team during their difficult times. If I have to return to Lyon, I will not hesitate to return. Thank you

Wonderful service and the most comfortable of rooms. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, professional and helpful.
This hotel is very well located in the city center. There's an excellent grocery store directly across the street which was helpful for buying water, wine, and some snacks to keep in our room. We stayed in Room 204 and it was at the end of the hall, away from the elevator. Even though it was street-facing, it was very quiet and we had a mini fridge which was great. I would have loved an in-room Nespresso...
I stayed 3 nights in total. Super helpful and friendly staff. Rooms are very clean. Location is the best you can get. Highly recommend it.
Rooms are very clean and comfortable, yet , the service was not very satisfying as a parents with a 5 months old baby ! We’ve requested a cot , the lady at the reception didn’t help , she told my husband that if want a crip then he should collect it from the storage room of the hotel and assemble it ! And we ended up having parts of a net bed for a 2-3 y old !!!! We didn’t use it and we had to share...

This is a great hotel in the heart of Lyon. Modern well appointed rooms with all the necessities for a comfortable stay. Large comfortable bedding. The food here is recommended too. Had dinner which was good and the breakfast buffet has a delectable spread too.
The hotel was nice and clean. Good breakfast in the morning. WiFi was a bit slow, but useable.
Convenient hotel downtown. Good breakfast buffet. Large quiet room
wonderful hotel. price - quality is super. the staff is friendly. the rooms are cozy and comfortable
Very good location to walk to central shopping area or historical centre. Room was big (we were a family of 2 adults and 2 children) and clean, breakfast was very good. Only downside was the parking which was a bit pricey and the overall cost of the stay, again on the pricey side. but all in all a very good choice

This was my first time here and the hotel staff were very accommodating and professional. I had a wonderful stay and a great breakfast in the morning.
Excellent accommodation, great food and service.
Great location if you come for a seminar by train to Lyon Perrache. Take the exit Court Savoie or Rue Carnot and the hotel is only a few meters on the left. Reception is at the same level then the train station exits. Very handy. Train and metro 4 stations. Very nice decor as this is an old château. Breakfast OK but not amazing for 19 euros. Good facility for a c. 150 PEOPLE. Helpful staff
Nice hotel, rooms are clean and spacious. The parking underneath is a subject for prior booking! We have got no place to park. Unfortunately the personnel could not make us a breakfast to takeaway for an early checkout, which I though is a standard around the world.
Very comfortable and quiet on weekends. Beautiful interior, nice view and friendly personal. Breakfast is frensh and good, coffee delicious. Beds are cosy and excellent sleep.
I stayed here one night while travelling on business.. What an amazing place.. especially the building it's self! It's a gem from the turn of the last century .. The interior designers have done a good job preserving the original features, although I guess some were lost in under the demand for modern facilities.. If true?.. that's our fault! It has a central location beside the railway station....

Personnel was nice, room was a bit small, but okay. The bathroom drain wasn't fully functioning but overall it was okay. We are vegan and there are no vegan option at all for breakfast. (hence 4 stars instead of 5 in the rating, because for this standing, not having vegan option is a pity).
Stayed for one week in a privilege room. Location is good as you're near to metro, there are nice bars (such as Ninkasi) & restaurants in the area. Room is spacious and comfortable (much better than what I usually get in similar price range). Would be 5* if not for the breakfast. It is the same every day and the variety of some of the foods is not great.
Stayed in the hotel for two weeks, I understand that it is a business hotel and people that stay there mostly are there for business, but there are sevarl issues that need to be fixed. The hotel and our room was amazing! The hotel is really central, in a very beautiful street, and just a stone's throw from a metro station.
Not quite 4* hotel, but definetly a 3+. Room and bed 🛌 were really confortable; small room, but very cozy; good location and really nice staff
September 11 to 13, 2017. Sebastián the front desk manager was thoroughly professional and upbeat during our two night stay. The hotel had just taken delivery of a new fusbol (table soccer) table, and Sebastián kindly, and without prompting, jumped in and played against my 9 year old son! This hotel is a really good choice for Lyon. Rooms are spacious and clean. Professional staff. Close to the metro station.
Super hotel in a lovely area. Clean, comfortable, fantastic staff and a great waterfall shower!
The hotel is undergoing renovations. The main entrance is from the rear of the building, into a parking area, then into a hall way. In the hallway sits a person behind a small, cheap desk. And so it goes.
I was very happy with the value for the money paid. Staff was nice & helpful. Comfortable bed and large bathroom (not often that this happens in Europe). Small fridge in room with nearby grocery stores if you don’t want to eat out 3 meals/day. Just a few blocks from the metro and walkable to “Old Lyon.” I will definitely stay here again when I come back to Lyon.
pleasant stay with friends, friendly and helpful staff. Nice rooms Excellent breakfast Good location, 15 'walk from the center Good restaurants nearby All in all to recommend, only lack, a more comfortable shower Next time in Lyon, for us, same choice

This place was super quirky but had a lot of good things going for it. The location is right in the center of the old city with a ton of classic Lyonnais restaurants in every direction, as well as plenty of patisseries, gift shops, and the marionettes museums. Beautiful building. Gorgeous rooms, if not a little dark. Lovely indoor pool, but only really big enough for one person, or a couple to swim.
Restaurant experience review. Very beautifully presented and tasty food. Great staff service too.
Beautiful building, very unique and sexy rooms (albeit some may think they're slightly claustrophobic and in need of refreshing), great service, and the best location. Really, the location simply can't be beat. The downside is that many of the rooms badly need renovation, especially since some don't have a shower (!!!) and the spa could use some renovation as well.
