Hotel Lilas Blanc

Terrible hotel. It was dirty, and I encountered two spiders on the bed at different times, which made it impossible to sleep. The bed was next to a filthy curtain, with the bottom part extremely dirty. It was incredibly hot with no ventilation or air conditioning, and the bathroom was too tiny. I have been in Paris many times and have never stayed in such an awful hotel. I do not recommend it and will never return.

The service was extremely good, with very friendly and helpful people at the front desk. The location is good, being close to a train station and not too far of a walk from the Eiffel tower. The rooms were clean and adequate. However, I would strongly advise against staying here in the summer due to the lack of AC. Not only was our room warm without AC, but the window went out into a courtyard where other people can easily see into your room, and the light and noise makes sleeping difficult. There were people in other rooms talking loudly into the early hours of the morning. To make matters worse, the bathroom does not have a ventilation fan. This makes the room extremely humid after a shower, and causes it to feel even more stuffy and makes cooling off almost impossible. Due to the temperature, humidity, loud people and light from other rooms, it was extremely hard to sleep during our early august stay.
