We recently stayed at what’s supposedly a 5-star hotel, and honestly, it was the worst experience I’ve ever had. While the view is breathtaking, everything else falls flat. The staff were rude, unhelpful, and downright untrained, which made our stay miserable.
Issues we encountered:
• Room Problems: We were given a room with a pool but a broken AC. Despite numerous complaints, nothing was done. We also found a huge ant infestation in our room, which was disgusting. We were finally moved at 1 AM, but the damage was done. It was a battle to have basic requirements like no ants and working AC.
• Late Checkout Incident: On our final day, we asked for a late checkout, which was confirmed, but at 11:40 AM, a staff member barged into our room, yelling at us to leave. It was a man screaming at two young girls alone and in bikinis. We felt very scared, and it was shocking and unprofessional. When we went to complain, the manager offered access to the spa, which we declined because it wasn’t the point. She didn’t even apologise.
• Restaurant Experience: We tried to have dinner at the “exclusive” burger restaurant, but despite a reservation, we were told we couldn’t sit at the table with the view, even though it was empty. They then offered it to someone else randomly. The staff were rude to us in the process.
• Taxi Problems: The hotel won’t help with taxis AT ALL - you have to beg them to send you one multiple times. We waited for over an hour for a taxi, while others who came after us were served first. When we asked the hotel to address it, they shrugged it off. Again no apology from anyone.
The beach is also not nice and shared with like 5 other hotels in the same chain. I would say the breakfast was also pretty sad, as was the room breakfast was in.
This hotel fails at basic hospitality, and it was clear the staff didn’t care. It is poor management and badly trained staff - they clearly have never worked at real 5* hotels. We honestly felt unwelcome and uncomfortable the entire time. If you’re looking for a relaxing vacation, this is not the place. I regret booking here, and we will never return.
I am SO looking forward to returning here soon! I also recommended this hotel to my parents as I enjoyed it so much and they are visiting later in the year for their holiday too.
Highly recommend if you want a blissful, peaceful holiday.
