Reviews
What was good - Nice pool, the rooms are spacious, there are several restaurants in the hotel and there's a nice beach few minutes walk from the hotel.
Each room receives a couples massage for 80 euro, which was great.
What was bad -
1. I got food poisoning in the pool restaurant in the first day.
2. If you get a room in the further building, the noise is horrible. There's a communication door between the rooms, so you basically hear entirely the room next to you. We had to change rooms after 1 night.
3. Some of the staff is not great, and some are horrible. The main waitress at the pool bar (Anna) was constantly harassing us and others sitting there. Asking us to leave, commenting on each and every thing we did and overall making sure we're not in peace.
4. The breakfast's food is mediocre.
5. You need to bring your own pool towels (never heard about such a thing) - They refuse to provide them.
6. The pool's water is salty.
7. There's only 1 key to the room, and it's old fashion (not magnetic, so if you loose it you pay 20 euro).
Staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help.
We went to every restaurant and the food was fresh and delicious. We would highly recommend this hotel. All restaurants are great value for money and cheaper than the restaurants by the beach. The only disappointment was the beach and bars which has nothing to do with the hotel itself .
some lovely mature gardens in the grounds of the hotel.
First impressions are good, big entrance, very polished reception area, the man on the day of arrival was hard work understanding, it sounded like there were set times for dinner but he was saying there was only two tables left to book on that evening. There are several places to eat, but we stuck to eating in the poolside Greek Restaurant evenings and Breakfast is done upstairs. Plenty of choice at both and good portions.
The room was a good size with all you need, but outdated. We don't like shower curtains for example, I would guess it had not been through the wash before we got the room. Saying that my wife got upset stomach on day 3 (Both ends). When I tried just letting the manageress know, she just argued. She was also arguing with some other people in reception on day 1 and it was unprofessional in my opinion. She only needed to go and see the customers rooms. We also heard other people had been unwell. After that we found a lot of people eat in Rhodes Town, 10 minutes up road in taxi and 9 euros if you walk down to seafront.
I was not happy with the cleaning policy after that. You can hang a card on the door if you want your whole room cleaned but I expected the bed sheets to be pulled up, around the sink cleaned and the toilet tissue bin emptied daily regardless. This was smelling by day 3. We put the card on the door on day 4 and then found soap still stained around sink and marks still stained in the toilet and the top sheet was just layed on top as a butterfly so we had to make the bed ourselves.
I have stayed in 3 star accommodation with better conditions than this. Will not be returning.
The hotel has many rules. No hanging towels or anything on the balcony and nowhere to hang anything elsewhere. No laundry facilities available and the hotel only supplies towels for the bathroom.
An information book for all these rules would be useful. For the luxury restaurant you will need long trousers, hence no one was using this area at 32 degrees in the evening.
3 excellent restaurants and a lovely bar, all at sensible prices. There's even a shop on-site!
Superb value for money as part of an easyJet holiday. As a last parting shot, you can have a shower room on day of departure for, great touch.
