Danae Villas

We had an awesome stay at Danae’s villa. Two weeks of relaxing. The villa itself was very nice, the pool was awesome and the view was stunning

We have just returned from Danae Villas after a fantastic family holiday. The villa was large, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The swimming pool is large and provided endless fun for our 3 children who also enjoyed using the pool table a ping pong provided. George our host was very helpful and friendly. The hill up to the villa is quite steep but the close proximity to the restaurants and bars of Koutouloufari and the peaceful location of the villa more than made up for this. We've already booked a return trip and can't wait to go back next year.

What a beautiful place! Best villa we have stayed in. Large pool, beautifully presented villa with everything you could need. Danae and her husband are a complete delight. Honestly couldn’t do enough for us. On arrival, the taxi from Heraklion wouldn’t come up the road from the village to the villa which is a steep 300m climb. We set off up the hill. We got to the top and Danae was waiting, her husband had driven down to collect us ( we had just missed him). He then took us to the supermarket to get shopping and arranged a hire car for us! In the evenings we walked down to the 3 villages and got a cab back; never again came across anyone worried about driving up the hill! One of the nicest holidays we have had.

We stayed at villa Danae from Tuesday 27th June till Tuesday 11th July 2023. George the owner was on hand to greet us on our arrival. There was a welcome pack provided, and also we had asked for some additional items. These were provided and George would take no money from us to cover the cost. The villa was clean and well maintained and the pool was lovely, very clean and very refreshing on hot sunny days. George and his family were lovely, very helpful and always on hand when ever needed. We hired a car and found this to be very useful especially as the hill is rather steep. All in all a beautiful villa, fantastic views and a home from home. We would have no hesitation in booking again. The village of Koutouloufari was very pretty with reasonable priced restaurants and bars. Hersonissos is not far and for the beach we loved Stalis which was 10 mins drive away. We never found George to be obtrusive as other reviews has stated. He was always polite and asked if it was okay to be on the property when he had jobs to do. He also replaced a air conditioning unit the same day as reporting it faulty. Great service. Lovely, comfortable and spacious villa, with an excellent pool. Well located, just a very short walk from a wide choice of restaurants and bars. Koutouloufari is a beautiful village.

Wonderful villa and well worth the money. The villa is clean and spacious (the bedding and towels are changed twice a week). Plenty to do in the villa with a large private pool, table tennis together with board games and books available in the villa. As others have said it is a steep climb to the villa but manageable. The village is bustling with plenty of tavernas when the food is good and reasonably priced. There is a small supermarket in the village and a . Lidl about 10 mins away by car. Hersonnisos is a 20 walk downhill and again a steep climb back up but taxis are readily available and cheap. The owner George lives in the end villa and deals with any accommodation issues quickly (one of our electric shutters failed but was fixed within 24hrs). Fabulous villa, beautiful location and would happily recommend and return.

Wij zaten één week in Danae Villa Blue, de villa was van alle denkbare luxe voorzien (Privé zwembad, buitendouche, pooltafel, PingPong tafel, bbq etc.). De villa ligt super dichtbij Koutouloufari, dit is een erg gezellig dorpje met vele goede restaurants. De weg naar de villa toe is erg steil, maar hier wen je gauw genoeg aan. Ik zou deze villa aan iedereen (vriendengroepen, stellen, gezinnen enzovoort) aanraden.

Fantastic holiday with family, 6 adults and a baby. Four villas in an amazing location with beautiful views. Five minute walk up the hill from the fabulous little Greek village of Koutouloufari. It is quite a steep bank to walk up to the villa, so maybe not great for the less mobile. I note a comment somebody made about a car essential, I would disagree although we did hire a car for a couple of days to see more of the beautiful island of Crete, there is certainly enough in the area which is very walkable. In Koutouloufari village, you are spoilt for choice for food and drinks, with all the amazing restaurants and bars. If you want a little more night life Hersonissos is also a decent walk away although down a steep bank, we did taxi back the night we had down on the beach front. We did also walked into old Hersonissos for an evening which is definitely worth a visit, easy flat walk about a 30mins stroll with buggy There is a Lidl about 10mins away by car, we got a taxi there and back to fill up on first morning, the welcome pack when we arrived in early hours was great. The villa itself has everything, the kitchen is very well equipped, the bedrooms fabulous, beds very comfortable and all have air conditioning so we all slept extremely well especially our little eight month old granddaughter. All have shutters too, so pitch black if you want it. The cot and highchair they provided were fab. Bathrooms are great, have both shower and bath. Lovely little touch leaving little essential in each bedroom and bathrooms. The pool is amazing, bigger than a lot around Koutouloufari and we had it all to ourselves, fabulous for the baby. All towels are provided including ones for round the pool. The Villa and surrounding area including the pool is spotless, maids come in twice a week with clean sheets and towels. George visits daily to check on pool, he is so helpful but only if you need him, he certainly allows you privacy. The pool and table tennis is also a fab extra. The Villa exceeded our expectations, the photos cannot do it justice. We had the most amazing time here, did not want to leave, as all the home comforts were there. We will definitely be back. Thank you George and family One last thing, if you need to know anything before you arrive, message George direct as Villa plus we’re hopeless. Asked about hiring a room for our last day as we had late flight, Villa plus give us useless information, then when we arrived, George had a message up on notice board with a recommended hotel just at the bottom of the bank, who are happy to hire rooms out, to late for us as we had arranged our own at Marni village, which actually did work out very well as it was beautiful there

Last year we we were in the yellow villa, this time the green one. Besides the colors the same accommodation. Owner is very helpful; if something is broken it’s immediately solved. Everything you have at home is also here so if you don’t want to eat outdoors all the time you can also eat here. Every bedroom and living room has a flatscreen tv. Didn’t use it as it has no Dutch news stations but children could watch and use Netflix or whatever. Safety deposit box is free and in the closet. Everything is cleaned very well and hygienic. If you want rest and quietness and privacy this is certainly the place. Would recommend it to everyone but it’s not cheap. Also Koutoulofari itself with all the restaurants and supermarkets are really expensive but quality is great most of the time. That’s it otherwise I’m going to repeat myself and others
