Easily the best hotel/resort we have ever stayed at. We had our wedding at Amirandes and also stayed for a few nights. The whole wedding planning process was seamless thanks to their professional staff. You can see how luxury the hotel is right from the main gate entrance. We will definitely go back again!

Other than the architecture of the lobby and entrance area and the good natured staff, it was the worst stay I have ever experienced. They sell u the room as luxury sea view and you pay over euro 500 a night for a run down room. Food is mediocre, WiFi doesn’t work, and staff are ill trained to handle customer demands. This is a decent hotel and we very much enjoyed our stay here. The 50 metre rectangular pool is a real highlight. Unlike many hotels, this is a proper pool suitable for lap swimming. The GDM Island Hotel is listed as a 5-star luxury resort, however, our stay was good, not more, as expected from 5-stars resort in Crete. With my wife and son we spent a very enjoyable week at Marina Beach hotel. The room was clean and spacious, the swimming pools well maintained (my 4 year old son loved the kid's pool), the staff were very nice and helpful and the kid's entertainers were fantastic. The area of gouves is relatively quiet but that was perfect for this break. Would definitely return. Only complaint is the towels on every sunbed with no one to be seen. Upon arrival, we received the key for room 303. We had booked a ‘triple room with garden view’. Clearly that translated to ground floor room facing a car park and pile of rubble. Tranquil get away. Has a lovely pool and a bar serving drinks and snacks till late. 5 mins walk to the nearest beach. Plenty shops, restaurants nearby. The apartments themselves are basic but sufficient. We had a 2 bedroom apartment with a private patio and a small living room with a kitchenette. A good escape.
