Where to stay in Kato Gouves

Rooms a bit on the small size but didn't mind that too much. Service and friendly staff everywhere. Great food. There are plenty of pool options, and the slides are great. Would like to see more activities for kids. It seems they focus on little kids, and there's nothing for the 8 to 12 years old... The gym didn't have an aircon, was extremely hot, and was not comfortable to train.

We had a fantastic holiday staying here. Lots of pools (including swim ups), water slides for big kids and a aqua park for smaller ones. The rooms are spacious and housekeeping everyday. Easily the best hotel/resort we have ever stayed at. We had our wedding at Amirandes and also stayed for a few nights. The whole wedding planning process was seamless thanks to their professional staff. You can see how luxury the hotel is right from the main gate entrance. We will definitely go back again!

Other than the architecture of the lobby and entrance area and the good natured staff, it was the worst stay I have ever experienced. They sell u the room as luxury sea view and you pay over euro 500 a night for a run down room. Food is mediocre, WiFi doesn’t work, and staff are ill trained to handle customer demands. The GDM Island Hotel is listed as a 5-star luxury resort, however, our stay was good, not more, as expected from 5-stars resort in Crete. With my wife and son we spent a very enjoyable week at Marina Beach hotel. The room was clean and spacious, the swimming pools well maintained (my 4 year old son loved the kid's pool), the staff were very nice and helpful and the kid's entertainers were fantastic. Absolutely loved it there.The service was excellent and so friendly. The whole place was clean and the food was fine for us. The area of gouves is relatively quiet but that was perfect for this break. Would definitely return. Only complaint is the towels on every sunbed with no one to be seen. Upon arrival, we received the key for room 303. We had booked a ‘triple room with garden view’. Clearly that translated to ground floor room facing a car park and pile of rubble. Visited some friends who were staying atvthese apartments. They were delighted with the refurbishment of the rooms and facilities from last year. Everything looked fresh and new. I've just returned from the most peaceful relaxing & refreshing 7 days at these apartments. The location is right on the seafront.
