Mrs Chryssana Beach Hotel

We stayed here with my mom for one night, and we were absolutely delighted with this hotel. From the moment we arrived, we knew it was special. The location is perfect—set in a peaceful village, just a one-minute walk to a wide, spacious beach with easy access to the water.

The room was spotless, freshly renovated, and even smelled pleasant. We had a large balcony with a table, and everything was so clean that when we wiped the table, there wasn’t even a trace of dust. The attention to detail in the cleaning was truly impressive.

The owner was wonderful to meet—so kind, welcoming, and generous. He treated us to fresh fruit and shared many helpful tips about the area, making our stay feel extra personal and warm. Breakfast was another highlight: homemade, delicious, and prepared with so much care.

This hotel completely won us over—the location, the atmosphere, the hospitality, everything was perfect. We already dream of coming back and staying longer.

From the very first day, we felt at home. We were welcomed with a refreshing drink and given a clear explanation of all the hotel’s amenities, as well as great suggestions on what to visit and do in Crete. The staff truly deserve special appreciation — especially Michalis (the hotel manager) and Polytimi (at the bar), who greeted us with unforgettable kindness and warmth, making us feel like part of Greece. The food at the hotel was absolutely fantastic — homemade, full of flavor, and prepared with love, just like sitting at a Cretan family table. We truly hope to return many more times and recommend this stay 101%!

Really nice hotel right on the coast.
The house is tidy and clean. Although it`s not the newest establishment, it is regularly renovated.
The reception staff was always helpful and friendly.
I really recommend the low season, as it is much less busy then and you can enjoy nature and the beach. Additionally this hotel is very cheap at the end of October.
Breakfast was good and one had a good choice of dishes, warm and cold, sweet and fruity etc.

The rooms are nice and quiet spacious. From the balconies you have a nice view of the sea. On the other hand, you can hear the strong waves, as we experienced during our stay.

Although we traveled with our older kids, we enjoy the peace and quiet. The hotel doesn not offer the entertainment options desired by most families and was therefore just visited by couples.

If you are not by car a bus stop to Chania is just a 5 minute walk away.

Lovely hotel, great location, supermarket just up the road and around the corner, staff had excellent customer service and were very friendly and welcoming, rooms were clean, bed was comfy. Breakfast was really nice and had plenty of options, great value for money. Definitely recommend!

We loved it so much last year, we came back again. The manager, Michalis, the afternoon receptionist, Emmanuel, and our cleaner, Vana, were still here. There were some new faces at the pool bar, who also double up as lifeguards and as breakfast/dinner staff, Anastasia, Manos, and Amir. All the staff are so helpful, thank you for looking after us so well. For me, the pool area is perfect. I have mobility issues. It has cushioned sofas under a shaded area, wooden loungers with cushions (that I can get up from), and easy stepped access into the pool with a handrail. We booked a package through jet 2, but I emailed the hotel in advance to ask for a ground floor room, which they were able to give us. As there is no night porter and reception and the bar closed at 11pm, and we were arriving after 1am, we also asked for some drinks to be left in our room, which they did. Breakfast is really good with a wide selection of hot and cold options, a very tempting selection of cakes and pastries, thick yoghurt, and honey and fruits. The evening meal is served buffet style like breakfast, with several selections each day, I can recommend the chicken wings, moussaka, and veal stew. For me the ambience in the dining area at night could be improved by providing more atmospheric lighting e.g. fairy lights and candles. I would also prefer to have an a la carte menu, as they do at the pool bar in the afternoon. We had good meals several times at Sto Skouteli and on the front in Kolymvari at En Elladi and Peinakothiki. Even though the hotel was almost full, it was still very peaceful and relaxing. We spent our time by the pool, but a lot of people hire cars, go out walking, or take the bus into Chania. We met some lovely people again this year. Thanks to Babs, Dusty, Rod and Karen for some fun times.

Stayed with friends for 2 nights in two twin rooms with adjoining door. Lovely bathroom with large walk in shower. Good wardrobe space and a safe. Bedside tables and a dressing table with mirror plus hairdryer. Fridge in room but no facilities to prepare food you cN ask for a kettle though. Nicelybdecorated and comfortable beds with good linen. Only downside was having a sink in the bedroom not in the bathroom. Totally impractical. When you use tge toilet it's usual to wash your hands notbl have to leave the bathroom to wash them in the bedroom. Also it disturbs anyone who's sharing the room. Cannot understand who thought that was a good idea. The rooms had clearly been refurbished quite recently so I think someone must have gone crazy thinking it was design feature. Nice balcony. Very large deep pool with kids pool also quite large. But they don't open the pool until 10.30 or later. Not good if you like a swim before breakfast. Hotel situated right by the sea but its a pebbly beach with no sun loungers so beach shoes and a mat are needed. It's a good 15 to 20 minute walk to kolymbari beach and the beach side restaurants. Coming back in the dark requires a torch as the way isn't very well lit. We had breakfast included and it was a buffet of hot and cold food, plenty to choose from all very good. We also ate at lunchtime in the pool cafe/bar the portions were very large we could easily have shared a snack between two of us. We had decent sized balcony but no clothes dryer to hang your wet towels etc on. We enjoyed our stay and would go there again as we like kolymbari having been there many times.
