I can't say enough about this hotel. I booked it because we were catching a ferry the next morning to Skopeles. It was so easy to find and the man on the desk was amazing. We were worried about where we could park our car for a few days and he said right here beside the hotel. Excellent value for money. The view was spectacular, the people there lovely, and the room was super clean. The only thing is the bathroom is tiny, but unless you are obese all the rest is very very good. You have everything you need there for a couple of nights in Pilio.

Hotel Filoxenia is a small hotel hidden in between some others in Portaria. The owners take pride in their quiet and welcoming establishment and provide you everything you need. The location is wonderful, and sitting in between the large trees on a sunny day makes you realize that you might have stumbled upon one of the most beautiful places in all of Greece.

Very polite owners, especially Chryssa, nice breakfast with a lot of homemade sweets and pies and very warm and extremely clean rooms. The only negative is that the room we stayed was very narrow and the suitcase had to go under the bed. The price was good because it is located exactly in the center of Portaria.

Located at the beginning of the centre of Volos by the sea, the guest has everything within walking distance. The staff was very friendly and the price was good, but there is a need for some maintenance.

Very comfortable My husband had a heart attack and was rushed to Volos hospital. Fortunately I found this hotel online and its very good. Each day i have had to extend my stay and this been simple. Room very clean, bed and pillows very comfortable which is all i need. Close to the port and city centre and hospital.

We stayed in Room 601, not a bad view, of this small hotel, right in the middle of town, walking distance to waterfront. Room was very clean and modern, with a good shower, and few toiletries. We did find the bed a bit small though and we are not tall people. The buffet breakfast was quite traditional and very nice. Would stay her again and recommend.

I called the night before and was greeted by a patient and lovely man, who told me their hours and reassured me I did not need a reservation but made one anyway. Ideally placed for our transport needs, close to station and ferry terminal. Clean room, good Aircon and a pleasant breakfast.

I feel like the hotel doesn’t deserve a higher rating. The positives are that it’s quite cheap compared to the other hotels in the area, and that breakfast is included. The main cons is the quite old design of the interior, equipment (i.e. hairdryer, fridge), bad soundproofing (you can hear the neighbors snoring above, people speaking outside the room far away from you and etc.). You get the picture...

So I was traveling to Volos for work and I decided to stay at this hotel. It was cheap and the view was pretty good close by to different restaurants and bars I expected more from the room like the TV didn’t have YouTube but you get what you paid for it even had breakfast so yeah, it was OK

This hotel is a 6Euro taxi ride from the town. My first impression was that I would be isolated, but I walked for 3 mins and found the sea and lots of cafes aand restaurants open. I fall in love with the view from the very first sight. One of the best locations in the area, equally close to both Portaria and Makrinitsa villages. Tasty breakfast with the variety of choices. A great hotel with an outstanding location between Portagia and Makrinitsa. We were impressed by the warm family and their team. The hotel is recommended for families, as there is a very large and cozy lobby, as well as a great "playroom". So you can also relax there without always having to be in your room or on the move.

The staff was very welcoming and nice. Everyone was sweet and kind. I went there on a school trip and we had so much fun! The rooms were beautiful,spacious and the beds were extremely comfortable,the water was super clean and the balconies were nice with great view. The room was clean. Some rooms have sea view and a fireplace. The breakfast was plentiful and the hotel has a parking lot, which is important, because parking can be difficult in Portaria. The hotel is 5 min on foot from the village center.

The breakfast was with variety of foods and everything was very tasty. The location is very quiet and with panorama view to Volos. The hosts are very hospitable and gave us all their attention despite of our late arrival (after midnight) and despite our short stay (1 night only).
