Where to stay in Volos

Wonderful hotel in Beautiful and cozy Portaria. Nice space in the rooms very good breakfast. Nice and clean pool. Very polite and helpful staff. In The village portaria wich is a walk of 7 min a lots of restaurantas... Can really recommend. I stayed for 3 nights.

Spent 7 days here. Was a good stay with some shortcomings. First was the pool, open relatively late (11 am) and available to outsiders which made it very noisy during the weekend. Second was the gym, open for some reason after 12 pm, not cleaned (at least for the 7 days I was there), half the machines are broken and closed on Sunday which the receptionist didn't tell us about. Perfect location 3day break Great swimming pool however 11:00 am opening was a half day gone. Staff were attentive in the hotel. Dining room was lovely so was dinner. The hotel picture is not revealing the winding road of 8 KM to reach it from Volos. Nevertheless, we managed to go up the hill and the hotel met all expectations. The rooms are clean and of large size. The bathrooms are nice and had all the amenities. We enjoyed sitting in the dinning room balcony with wonderful view of the Volos area. It is a pity we could not use the swimming pool and spa as we stayed...

Rooms a little outdated but the view really made up for all as well as the service and friendliness of everyone working there. Pool was clean and cool and not busy at all for the early June. Great ambience!

A good hotel in a nice setting on the way up to Pelion Mountain above the town of Volos in central Greece , with clean rooms and clean pool and beutifull garden. The price of the hotel is good, but the cafe-restaurant inside is expensive , ideal place For a pleasant stay with good view ! Very good view from the high rooms!!

Our stay at Valeni was excellent. The view alone is unbeatable. We stayed in the junior suite. We first went to the spa and then had massages. Both were wonderful, especially because the spa is booked for an hour so we had it all to ourselves. The fireplace in the evening made the room warm and cozy, as did the giant jacuzzi tub. My family and I were at the hotel for a happy occasion of Christening of a close friend's child. The place is tranquil, and personnel are ready to help and assist. Rooms are well equipped with coffee & tea equipment, plenty of towels. Spa offers a variety of massages and different procedures.

Hotel is lovely. An old building that has been renovated. Rooms are clean and modern. With a lot of details to amenities. Rooms are a bit small, there isn’t much space to open up luggage. Breakfast is good with a decent variety. Perfect location if you need to catch the ferry in the morning. Literally 100m from the harbour. For parking there is a private paid parking just opposite the hotel.

A beautiful old manor house in the traditional style of Pelion (Pilio). The hotel is animal friendly which was a great surprise. The rooms are kept spotlessly clean, and the breakfast available has a good variety (their traditional pie is amazing).

Despotiko is a very fine hotel at a high point of portaria with means it also has an amazing view. The service is flawless although we did encounter some telephone pranking at one point. The food wasn't very good the first night(Tuesday) but was almost perfect the next day. The breakfast is absolutely worth it. Value for money for the dates that I went end of July paying 50€ with breakfast was a very good price.Yes indeed the road is a little bumpy but nothing more than a car can't handle,the bumpy road is about 200 metres or less and there is a parking in the hotel 🏨 .The breakfast is very decent with a big variety of products .The hotel does have a pool also which is very nice.Overall it is a smooth place...

Traditional guest house next to the main square of Portaria with friendly and polite staff. We enjoyed a sweet dessert of the spoon and hot cups of tea in the common living room with fireplace. The breakfast offers handmade delicacies with a variety of pies, jams, etc. The only drawback is the old mattresses.

It’s a lovely cafe on a roof of the hotel which opens a view to the sea and mountains! A great place to work and enjoy the atmosphere of the city. As for the menu, you can find good healthy alternatives for lunch or dinner. Prices are not too high, and the personal is quite friendly.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in. The rooms were clean, the view was fairly good and the staff were super friendly. The hotel is located in the centre of the town and it is newly opened in the location. The staff are very polite and will guide you through ever problem you face. They have a rooftop swimming pool and restaurant which is very good to hang out in summers.

Lesvos is amazing, but Defkalion would be worth the trip anywhere in the world. The hotel is operated by a wonderful family, and by the time you leave you'll feel like you've been adopted. Very good place where to stop en route between Athens and Thessaloniki. Clean room, very good service, good and complete breakfast, excellent pool and extra points for the private parking. Good restaurants and fair beach in close proximity. All in all very good quality/price ratio. The bathroom probably needs renovation, but the hotel is perfect for a couple of nights.
