Despotiko is a very fine hotel at a high point of portaria with means it also has an amazing view. The service is flawless although we did encounter some telephone pranking at one point. Been here for 3 yrs and it’s always like ‘home’. The hotel manager Theo is a gem! They value customers and make you feel good. Good service from all staff. Facing the sea so you’ll get picturesque view and food is good! If you’re vegan, no problem! Just tell the staff and you’ll get almond milk with your coffee, fresh orange juice even smoothie!

Not really a 5 star hotel. Excellent personnel but rooms far from luxury. The Taverna really good, staff ever so polite. Breakfast more like upmarket German army barracks, a girl checking room number at the beginning of the long queue decidedly hilarious. Pity, it could easily be much better. My feeling is management neglect or arrogance.

Lovely place with a great view and great pool. Unfortunately while we stayed here the pool bar was closed which would have added to the place. Staff seemed friendly and breakfast was filling, but also nothing out of the ordinary. Rooms where nice and spacious with great AC, but could have been slightly more modern. The hotel is nice but need a renovation. The air conditioning in the rooms doesn't function proper. The breakfast is very good, while breakfast you may order Greek coffee also for free. Beach is in 15 min walk distance. Ask the room with the view to the sea. It is very strange for us that the hotel building has an oil gas station inside it from the main street side.

Location and view. That is all this hotel has to offer. Other than that it's very basic. The rooms are small and basic, the breakfast is basic and the quality seems to be below average. No parking included which means that you'll have to carry your luggage a long way. Considering everything this is not a good value for money either.

The hotel’s design is old fashioned. We ordered a room with a mountain and pool views, there aren’t rooms that offers both. The hotel’s overview didn’t mention that the pool is closed. The gym is poor, not a lot of equipment and no air conditioning. The breakfast is nice and tasty.

Unfortunately we had an ant problem in our room that wasn't solved during our entire stay. Neither were we offered any compensation. Simply outstanding. We stayed in a suite that was fully renovated(we were one of the first to sleep there after the renovation) with modern but also a bit of traditional style. Rooms were small for three people which I assume they weren't meant for three. Trying to fit in a third bed among another two, a wardrobe that's movable and a huge fridge makes the space very confining and suffocating. The room was clean but the hotel is old, and not as nice as in the pictures. They are a bit cheap with toilet papers and some other tidbits.

Hotel Filoxenia is a small hotel hidden in between some others in Portaria. The owners take pride in their quiet and welcoming establishment and provide you everything you need. The location is wonderful, and sitting in between the large trees on a sunny day makes you realize that you might have stumbled upon one of the most beautiful places in all of Greece.

Great place for a 1 night stay. Friendly staff. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. The only downsides were a small bathroom, no shower curtain and bed sheets didn't fit the bed fully. Overall a good stay and would have no problem to stay again.
