Lesvos is amazing, but Defkalion would be worth the trip anywhere in the world. The hotel is operated by a wonderful family, and by the time you leave you'll feel like you've been adopted. We had the so called “honeymoon suite”, a spacious room with a large terrace and also a jacuzzi, and, following the Covid rules, we had the opportunity to enjoy the hotel spa just for ourselves. The room was clean. Some rooms have sea view and a fireplace. The breakfast was plentiful and the hotel has a parking lot, which is important, because parking can be difficult in Portaria. The hotel is 5 min on foot from the village center.

The breakfast was with variety of foods and everything was very tasty. The location is very quiet and with panorama view to Volos. The hosts are very hospitable and gave us all their attention despite of our late arrival (after midnight) and despite our short stay (1 night only).

Cozy and clean rooms with a great view to the city of Volos. The little yard we could sit and enjoy our coffee/breakfast was beautiful and filled with flowers, giving a unique but traditional touch to the hotel. The landlady was very kind and helpful. Breakfast was beyond expectations with everyday fresh homecooked options. Definitely would come back again!

I can't say enough about this hotel. I booked it because we were catching a ferry the next morning to Skopeles. It was so easy to find and the man on the desk was amazing. We were worried about where we could park our car for a few days and he said right here beside the hotel. Excellent value for money. The view was spectacular, the people there lovely, and the room was super clean. The only thing is the bathroom is tiny, but unless you are obese all the rest is very very good. You have everything you need there for a couple of nights in Pilio.

Hotel Filoxenia is a small hotel hidden in between some others in Portaria. The owners take pride in their quiet and welcoming establishment and provide you everything you need. The location is wonderful, and sitting in between the large trees on a sunny day makes you realize that you might have stumbled upon one of the most beautiful places in all of Greece.

Hospitable environment anf staff, very cosy atmosphere and excellent in terms of cleaning! Had a great time and everyone was kind and helpful.

Very polite owners, especially Chryssa, nice breakfast with a lot of homemade sweets and pies and very warm and extremely clean rooms. The only negative is that the room we stayed was very narrow and the suitcase had to go under the bed. The price was good because it is located exactly in the center of Portaria.

Excellent location! Very good services at very reasonable prices. The staff has been very helpful from the first moment we arrived, helping us with carrying our luggage, tips about the city, very kind and friendly.
