Hotel Donatello

Best for the price and location you can find!!! Hotel is located close to the train station and the city center , exactly on the main street with shops. Right behind the hotel is a big square with street market with good prices - clothes, shoes etc. Lift available and working. Double room size - Ok. Bed mattress is very soft and still OK. Bathroom very narrow so for big guys will be difficult to take shower! Collapsing bidet is a great attraction and is very difficult to use anyway! No balcony in most of the rooms. Staff is great , helpful and pleasant🙏👌❤️❤️❤️TV was small like a computer size monitor. Furniture is new and useful. Small fridge with 2 bottles of water like mini bar available(need to pay for them of course😉). Breakfast is not rich and can be updated with varieties. Taxi cost from the hotel to airport is about 15 - 25 € depending on the traffic, day/night service(15-20 min). For short stay the hotel is a very good choice.

I was a little nervous about this hotel after reading some of the reviews, but none of negative comments seemed to be accurate except the room sizes.

1) Rooms are small, but nicely decorated and clean. No noise. I was on the 5th floor too and away from the street a bit.
2) Breakfast is good. It can be hard to find protein for breakfast in Europe in general and when I read some of the comments I expected to be trying to find a place for breakfast. This was not the case here. They had good hard boiled eggs sliced in half, the normal assortments of meat and yogurt that wasn’t too sugary. And they had good croissants, juices, and milk, and of course someone to make cappuccinos.

3) Great location.

Negatives small room and a tv the size of a computer screen, but I don’t watch tv anyways so no big deal. I’d get a bigger room if you aren’t traveling alone. The single bed rooms are doable but very tight.

Nice hotel, nice breakfast great position!

The staff is really friendly, specially the blonde young lady that received us on my worst day: I was feeling very sick and we needed a room asap and she kindly let us get to the room at 10am despite check in being later. I spent the day in the bed on our room of the 5th floor and I felt really comfortable all the time. The following day I was feeling much better and fortunately we could follow our trip. She also kept our luggage for a couple of hours the following day that we went back to Bolognia before we went to the airport back home. We felt really grateful with her kindness and we really appreciated her excellent service on a very hard day for us. Thank you so much!
