The room I stayed in was clean, but it lacked basic amenities. There wasn’t even a glass or cup for water, let alone a kettle, tea, or bottled water. In a 4-star hotel, one would expect at least a tea and coffee set, a few tea bags, sugar, and bottled water as standard. Instead, I found a note stating that I could pay €3 for a coffee capsule, which seems absurd for a hotel of this category.
I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with my recent stay at Hotel Delfino Venice Mestre Italy. While the hotel initially seemed promising with its spacious rooms and bathrooms, the experience quickly turned sour due to the poor state of the air conditioning and subpar customer service.
Despite the large size of our room, the air conditioning unit was consistently inadequate. The temperature inside the room was often warmer than the outside temperature, making it uncomfortable for my family and me. We initially chose to endure this inconvenience to avoid causing a fuss, but on our third night, the air conditioning unit completely stopped working.
When I reported this issue to the front desk, I was met with a dismissive response. The receptionist claimed that the changing weather was to blame and suggested that I simply open the windows. This response was both baffling and frustrating, as it did not address the issue of the malfunctioning unit or offer any alternative solutions, such as a room with a working air conditioning system. Instead, the receptionist offered an electric fan as a solution, which was clearly insufficient in the middle of the night.
The customer service I received during my stay was disappointing. The front desk staff appeared tired and uninterested in addressing my concerns. In contrast, the cleaning staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, always greeting us with smiles and going out of their way to assist us. It is unfortunate that the hotel's front desk staff does not reflect the same level of hospitality.
I believe that the hotel would benefit from investing in training its front desk staff to provide better customer service. Perhaps reassigning some of the friendly cleaning staff to the front desk would be a positive step in improving the overall guest experience.
I hope that this feedback will be taken seriously and that the hotel will take steps to address the issues I have raised. I would not recommend this hotel to others based on my experience.
The only minor thing is there's only one iron available in the hotel. There's an ironing room on the 5th floor where you can iron all your clothes. But you might want to bring your travel iron incase the hotel one is in use. Also tea coffee facilities in the room, but that didn't bother us so much.
Would definitely stay here again.
