Smart Hotel Holiday in Mestre

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The hotel is very basic and old fashioned but has almost everything you need in the room and hotel itself. The things that where not in the hotel room as basic needs are kettle and iron, it did have a hair dryer in the bathroom but hardly working better taking your own as you will be standing there forever trying to dry your hair. All staff were lovely, in my opinion the younger staff at reception give a better induction, meaning if you haven’t been to Venice before or don’t know know to get to Venice from the hotel as it’s quite far the younger staff explain it better and give you some tips and tricks on how to better your experience in actual Venice such as where to go to eat more cheaper etc. We were only given the basics of how to get on bus and how and where to get off and how to get back and that’s about it. The room was a bit damaged, could tell wasn’t refurbished or maintained recently, very out of date interior. Also there was mould by our bed, by the window etc and in bathroom, you could smell it really bad in the bathroom. Bathroom had everything you need apart from the shower height couldn’t be adjusted because it was broken. I believe the communication better staff and the customer could be a bit better especially if they haven’t stayed at the hotel before as we didn’t know that we had to pay for water from the room there was nothing about that anywhere, that if you needed more pillows to sleep on you could ask and they would give you extra ones etc. Overall the hotel was alright but not sure if we would stay there again.
