Hotel Poppi

The room is nice except for no AC and only air from opening window only to hear traffic. Did not get a good night sleep. Also, there is no ac because it didn't work.

Terrible. Lousy food. No water pressure to take shower and the icing on the cake we had bugs. They turned out to be brown marmorated stink bugs. Please google. They were large and everywhere. Part of a Cosmos tour package. Will not go there again

Worst hotel experience. My cosmos bus tour stopped here and spoke highly of it. I can not understand why. I am assuming the relationship they have $$$ has lot to do with poppis level of care. They know they have the business and don't need to try to make sure you are happy. Our room was cramped and hot. My pillow case had someone's makeup on it. We were not allowed to use the ac, our windows had to be open to be able to breath. The busses are all parked and loaded right outside our room. It is extremely loud and zero soundproofing. 615am they are rolling loud racks of luggage and screaming to each other right outside our windows. The walls are paper thin, our neighboring room had their cellphone go off and I thought it was one of ours. The bathroom was moldy. The food and service in the restaurant is an insult to Italian cuisine. It is the only option in town. Box pasta, tin can sauce and the thinnest steak known to man for a high price and 1hr wait, then 25min to try and pay!!. The included dinner was somehow worse, frozen meatballs and the fish smelled so strong it made me nauseous. Overcooked ziti in a chaffing dish with stale rolls. The breakfast food was frozen pastry they didn't even bother to defrost, watery eggs and unripe fruit. There also was a incident with another guest being injured that was handled so poorly it really showed how little the staff cared. It was an inconvenience to help an elderly couple after an injury. They tell you to communicate with them if your unhappy but seeing how they treat people I would never complain for fear of retaliation. I would never go back and would cancel an entire bus tour if they used this location. *edited to add, you can see the way the hotel MANAGER responds to my and other reviews they have terribly poor customer service.They take no responsibility and tend to attack the author. They put the hostel is hospitality. Wish I could give them zero stars.

I stayed there 2 nights through a tour booked through Cosmos. It was an ok hotel. They placed me in the attic room on the 3rd floor room 302. I say the attic because the elevator doesn’t even access this floor. I had an awful smell and couldn’t locate it but when I did I saw that it was mold covered by wallpaper. The manager tried to fuss and blame the housekeepers but where do housekeepers wallpaper walls. That’s maintenance and how do they have access to supplies. Nice try Hotel Poppi. They did move me but they don’t need to book that room until the mold is cleaned up. It’s unbearable. Hotel is in the middle of nowhere and none of the street lights were on at night. Cosmos wouldn’t let us go on the bus into Venice unless you booked the $108 optional dinner so we were left having to walk to the bus stop to go to Piazza Roma which wasn’t a long walk but crossing that road was crazy and then no lights when we came back so pitch black on the walk at night back to the hotel. I did give 2 stars because the 2nd room was better than the 1st. Also of note, do not open your windows unless you want a lot of stink bugs in your room crawling over everything.
