Hotel Poppi

I recently stayed at Hotel Poppi in Italy and was extremely disappointed with both the room environment and the overall service. Firstly, the room itself was in poor condition. The furniture looked worn out and outdated, with stains and scratches all over. The carpet had visible dirt and stains, which made me question the cleanliness of the entire room. The bathroom was in dire need of renovation, with cracked tiles, moldy grout, and a shower that barely had any water pressure with uncontrolled water temperature which is extremely hot.

Moreover, the service at this hotel was far from satisfactory. The staff seemed disinterested and unhelpful, showing little concern for guest needs. Requests for additional amenities took an excessive amount of time to be fulfilled, and even then, it felt like a burden for the staff. The front desk was unorganized and understaffed, resulting in long waits and a lack of assistance.

Overall, my experience at Hotel Poppi was extremely disappointing. The poor room environment and lackluster service left me feeling unsatisfied and frustrated. I would strongly advise against choosing this hotel if you value comfort, cleanliness, and efficient service."

First and foremost, the room I was assigned had an extremely unpleasant odour emanating from the bathroom. It felt as if I was walking into a public toilet every time I entered the room. Despite the cold weather, I had no choice but to open the window wide to try and alleviate the overpowering smell. It was disheartening and made me feel as if I was sleeping in an unclean environment, which is not what one would expect from a reputable hotel.

Furthermore, I encountered an unexpected issue with the electrical system. Whenever I used my hairdryer, the fuse would go out, causing an inconvenience and disrupting my routine. This has never happened to me in other hotels in Italy, and it indicates a potential problem with the electrical infrastructure or maintenance in Hotel Poppi. It is concerning that such issues were not addressed prior to guests' arrival, as it reflects a lack of attention to detail and guest comfort.

Additionally, the lack of available bath gel was a frustrating experience. When we discovered that we didn't have enough bath gel, we called the housekeeping department for assistance. To our surprise, we were informed that there was only one person working at the reception desk during the night shift. Instead of providing the necessary bath gel to our room, we were instructed to go down to the reception desk to collect it ourselves. This inconvenience is not what one expects from a hotel of this caliber, as it reflects poor staffing decisions and a lack of consideration for guests' needs.

Overall, my stay at Hotel Poppi was far from satisfactory. The persistent unpleasant odour in the room, the electrical issues, and the lack of available bath gel all contributed to a subpar experience. I hope that the hotel management takes these concerns seriously and addresses them promptly to ensure a more pleasant stay for future guests. Sadly, based on my experience, I cannot wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Poppi and would advise exploring alternative accommodation options.

Title: Not Recommended for Allergy Sufferers, Small Room Size

I recently stayed at Hotel Poppi for 2 nights and wanted to share my experience. Unfortunately, there were a couple of significant drawbacks that I believe future guests should be aware of before making their reservation.

Firstly, if you suffer from dust mite allergies, I strongly advise against staying at this hotel. The room's carpeted flooring and felt blanket were visibly unclean and had obviously not been frequently cleaned. Unfortunately, this triggered rashes and nasal allergies for me, making my stay quite uncomfortable.

Secondly, the room size was extremely small, providing limited space for larger luggage. If you are a backpacker or traveling with a small suitcase, this may not be a concern for you. However, if you have a larger suitcase, like my 29-inch one, finding a suitable place to store it becomes a challenge.
