Hotel Poppi

Worst hotel experience. My cosmos bus tour stopped here and spoke highly of it. I can not understand why. I am assuming the relationship they have $$$ has lot to do with poppis level of care. They know they have the business and don't need to try to make sure you are happy. Our room was cramped and hot. My pillow case had someone's makeup on it. We were not allowed to use the ac, our windows had to be open to be able to breath. The busses are all parked and loaded right outside our room. It is extremely loud and zero soundproofing. 615am they are rolling loud racks of luggage and screaming to each other right outside our windows. The walls are paper thin, our neighboring room had their cellphone go off and I thought it was one of ours. The bathroom was moldy. The food and service in the restaurant is an insult to Italian cuisine. It is the only option in town. Box pasta, tin can sauce and the thinnest steak known to man for a high price and 1hr wait, then 25min to try and pay!!. The included dinner was somehow worse, frozen meatballs and the fish smelled so strong it made me nauseous. Overcooked ziti in a chaffing dish with stale rolls. The breakfast food was frozen pastry they didn't even bother to defrost, watery eggs and unripe fruit. There also was a incident with another guest being injured that was handled so poorly it really showed how little the staff cared. It was an inconvenience to help an elderly couple after an injury. They tell you to communicate with them if your unhappy but seeing how they treat people I would never complain for fear of retaliation. I would never go back and would cancel an entire bus tour if they used this location. *edited to add, you can see the way the hotel MANAGER responds to my and other reviews they have terribly poor customer service.They take no responsibility and tend to attack the author. They put the hostel is hospitality. Wish I could give them zero stars.

I stayed there 2 nights through a tour booked through Cosmos. It was an ok hotel. They placed me in the attic room on the 3rd floor room 302. I say the attic because the elevator doesn’t even access this floor. I had an awful smell and couldn’t locate it but when I did I saw that it was mold covered by wallpaper. The manager tried to fuss and blame the housekeepers but where do housekeepers wallpaper walls. That’s maintenance and how do they have access to supplies. Nice try Hotel Poppi. They did move me but they don’t need to book that room until the mold is cleaned up. It’s unbearable. Hotel is in the middle of nowhere and none of the street lights were on at night. Cosmos wouldn’t let us go on the bus into Venice unless you booked the $108 optional dinner so we were left having to walk to the bus stop to go to Piazza Roma which wasn’t a long walk but crossing that road was crazy and then no lights when we came back so pitch black on the walk at night back to the hotel. I did give 2 stars because the 2nd room was better than the 1st. Also of note, do not open your windows unless you want a lot of stink bugs in your room crawling over everything.

I stayed at this hotel as part of a vacation package booked through cosmos. First of all there lobby is nice as is there outdoor lounge area. Also the bar is well stocked and the bartender was a lovely older women. The food was not good. There special is seafood I unfortunately cannot have that. I dined in there bar area the drinks were good but I ordered simple pasta and tomato sauce. It took a while to be served and it just wasn't good. The pasta was a bit too al dente and the sauce didn't taste right. My dining partner got a meat dish and also wasn't happy with it. It was also difficult to pay I think the bartender should also process payments for food she seemed to know what to do. We also had an included group dinner here. The salad was the only good thing. The meat dishes were poor quality and not prepared well and the pasta was actually overcooked this time. Breakfast was included I dont really eat breakfast but there were a fair amount of options. The coffee was terrible though very disapointing I think maybe the coffee machine needed cleaning but gas station coffee was far superior. The room was on the smaller side which is fine but it was hot. We were told to open the windows but being on the first floor this is a safety issue and there were buses right outside our windows. Noise was a big problem we could hear everything out in the lobby, restaurant noise and we could even hear people and neighboring rooms. Nevermind noise from the buses/bus drivers/ luggage right outside our windows. This place is very low budget that is a plus but I unfortunatly could not recommend staying here. Also the wifi signal was very weak.

I recently stayed at Hotel Poppi in Italy and was extremely disappointed with both the room environment and the overall service. Firstly, the room itself was in poor condition. The furniture looked worn out and outdated, with stains and scratches all over. The carpet had visible dirt and stains, which made me question the cleanliness of the entire room. The bathroom was in dire need of renovation, with cracked tiles, moldy grout, and a shower that barely had any water pressure with uncontrolled water temperature which is extremely hot.

Moreover, the service at this hotel was far from satisfactory. The staff seemed disinterested and unhelpful, showing little concern for guest needs. Requests for additional amenities took an excessive amount of time to be fulfilled, and even then, it felt like a burden for the staff. The front desk was unorganized and understaffed, resulting in long waits and a lack of assistance.

Overall, my experience at Hotel Poppi was extremely disappointing. The poor room environment and lackluster service left me feeling unsatisfied and frustrated. I would strongly advise against choosing this hotel if you value comfort, cleanliness, and efficient service."
