I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Excelsior Hotel in Rapallo, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The hotel, nestled on the picturesque Ligurian coast, offers stunning views of the sea, and its location is perfect for exploring the charming town of Rapallo and nearby Portofino.

I had a really good short stay here in November. It was quieter than usual (only passed it in the summer when it was extremely busy). They have a great location, proper 5-star service. The mirrors in the room were a little old but that's part of the charm. The entire hotel looked like an 18th century aristocrat's home inside. It was beautiful.

I just love the vibe! Old charm and attentive service. The views are just magical. Only thing that could be better - arrangement of sun beds in beach club. Sun beds shouldn’t be booked with towels for the time they are not actually occupied. At least the ones that are close front by the water. Gorgeous stately hotel on a perfect stretch of rocky beach, just a short walk from the center of town in Santa Margherita Ligure. Perfect place to have lunch, also, with a scenic view of the city, marina, and sea.

Beautiful hotel overlooking the Italian coast. The spa and pool were huge selling points. The pool is huge and overlooks the ocean. Their beach club is very secluded and peaceful! My girlfriend and me stayed at this very nice hotel for two nights. We arrived late at night and the first message was a free upgrade to junior suite. Unfortunately it rained on the next day but the manager offered us free access to the spa. After that we went out to eat dinner in an excellent Restaurant next to the harbor. Close to the city. On average clean but you will notice things they forgot to clean sometimes. Towels, shampoo. No toothpaste. No lundary room. No water boiler. Friendly reception. Helped us with finding a good restaurant and lundary, and give us a map of Rappalo. There is a supermarket close to the hotel. Overally expensive for what they offered.

Hôtel stella is very well located in Rapallo. The personel is very friendly and accommodating. They gave us even a card to allow us to park free in the neighborhood. Rooms are clean but old fashioned. Awesome experience staying here. It's the second time we came and we will come again.

This place is FANTASTIC. Kind’ve a hidden gem a short boat ride north of Portofino in Santa Margherita which, in our opinion, is a better town to stay in for multiple nights. Overall a solid place to stay, yet very overpriced. Big plus for spacios bathrooms and the engaged staff. Regarding the beds I can assure you from travel experience in 3rd world countries: These DO NOT come short in giving you a 3rd world experience. North Korea provides better beds, without a doubt. Even in the Swiss military I've had more comfortable beds, it was a shame.

This hotel is fine, but I’m not sure it warrants 5*. On our first night we were given a room with no shower (!) which seems a bit unusual for a hotel of this standard. After complaining the staff kindly offered to change us to another room at no incremental charge, but I think this is very unusual for a 5* (and certainly should have been communicated more clearly on the website to avoid the unpleasant...

This hotel offers a perfect location for a visit to Santa Margherita and Portofino. The dock is in easy walking distance for a boat trip to Portofino, and there is also a train station within and easy walk. Lots of restaurants are nearby as well. The hotel is very nice, and the staff is excellent!

100 euro for sunbeds on rooftop. Its probably not fair to start my review on that statement since the staff, the room and breakfast was more than perfect. However it was something weird you would have this beautiful empty rooftop because of this 100 eur charge. I understood that within this charge was wine, water and snacks. But it was just such a waste leaving this all empty on what else í would call...

We were so impressed with staying at the Hotel Laurin. The staff are very helpful, breakfast was plentiful, the pool area s beautiful with views of the marina and beyond. Lovely balconies to watch the word go by. Walking distance to all the shops restaurants ferries and buses.
