Reviews
I am an ambassador with Marriott. I stay at least 150 nights in hotels before my work takes me to different cities and I have experienced the entire range of Marriott brands. This hotel has a serious problem. The staff are arrogant and lazy and I mean lazy! The rooms are old but worse they are dirty. They don’t offer housekeeping 24 hours so if you check in late like we did they can do nothing. Not because there is no one in the hotel but because Laura and Daniele from front desk cannot be bothered. The fat and bald guy in the restaurant that is supposedly a manager is rude and he thinks people who are not white can be insulted in Italian without them understanding.
The management doesn’t care about this property at all because they are never on site. When we spoke to the front desk especially Laura she told me that you can write whatever you want but my manager won’t do anything for the rate.
The email provided by the front desk doesn’t work and you can see from the replies here on google reviews that the person solving your problems is from the revenue department. Not the front desk manager not the General Manager but the Revenue Department 😂😂
They only care about cheating the guests, taking their money and never delivering service or cleanliness while being racist.
Basically if you take a vacation once a year and book this hotel for 50€ a night that’s about what it’s worth. If you don’t appreciate racism meaning if you’re not white or Italian, then it’s best to avoid this property at all costs.
Free parking and free breakfast are a huge bonus.
Only downside is that it is just out of walking distance to downtown Siena.
I was “upgraded” for Marriott Gold status on check-in, but I didn’t feel like the room we were given was better than I booked. This was more of a “corner room” upgrade.
The service was less than acceptable. They are stingy at the breakfast “buffet”. My wife got scolded for taking a few yogurts back to the room. Which is something we always do and is acceptable at normal Marriotts, especially because our kids don’t always eat first thing in the morning. One older bald guy with thick black glasses was the one who scolded us. We saw him at breakfast on multiple days (I think he’s a manager) and I don’t think I saw him smile once, he really shouldn’t be working in the service industry.
He wasn’t the only one who gave us questionable service. We asked for a high chair at breakfast, and the woman who brought it out didn’t actually bring it to our table. She just brought it out into the dining area, made eye contact with me, then dropped it where she was standing.
The location requires that you have a car. There’s really nothing in walking distance except a hospital. Even though you need a car, the parking is questionable. It’s free, but you get what you pay for. One night the parking lot was completely full and we had to park on the curb near the laundry room.
The complaints about the air conditioning are real. It wasn’t even that hot outside when we stayed (high 70s F) but the inside of the hotel was very hot. Not only the room but the dining areas. I can’t imagine staying in the summer.
I had the AC on the whole time we stayed but I don’t think it actually did anything. It did however leak water. When we came back to our room every night there was a puddle of water on the floor.
The elevators are questionable, they randomly reset after you press the button and you have to press the button again.
Someone from Marriott really needs to talk to the management here. This place is a dump and not a good look for the brand.
At the reception good and polite service but elsewhere the personnel is unqualified. Not so very clean rooms and in the morning very noisy, you can hear everyone and everything passing by your room.....
Room service one evening for dinner was excellent, absolutely delicious, they were able to confirm the wait time on order.
Polite and friendly staff everywhere. Free parking. Reception gave great advice about getting into town (we took a bus in easily from just outside the hotel for €1.50pp as the city is pedestrianised).
Excellent breakfast, huge selection, everything really tasty.
We'll definitely be back.
