We were on the final leg of our honeymoon, ending with three nights in Florence. Our hotel room had rocks in the bathtub, a full ashtray from the people before.... and it was HOT in the room. Uncomfortable hot. Keep in mind this was late November/early December. Here, the front desk controls the temperature of the rooms - you have to ask them for any changes. Six hours and three trips to the front desk later, it was still sweltering in the room. Told us maintenance would be there in the morning, gave us a small plastic fan.... and that was it. Three nights of really uncomfortable heat. The most they did for us was to send a bell hop up to the room... looked at the thermostat and simply said, "heat is off". When I asked him why it was still hot in the room, he nodded and agreed it was really hot in there.
We met two other couples who were having a similar experience.
There are SO MANY hotels in Florence... don't take a chance on this one, especially if you care about a comfortable night of sleep.
It was a spur of the moment thing and the staff and the hotel did not disappoint. I’m comparing this hotel to places like the Ritz Carlton - although this is smaller, it provides almost the same amenities as a bigger hotel would. Room was immaculate and clean. They provide a laundry service (although it takes a couple of days to come back), there’s a jacuzzi and the room was air conditioned - which is a must during summer.
Staff were great and really helpful. Breakfast was good. Location is incredible; really close to SMN Centrale and great restaurants.
Highly recommend! I will be staying here again if their prices don’t increase.
We stayed in two two-bed rooms. One of which was big with a walk-in closet. However the other one was small and we could hear the water pipes at night. Sound isolation was also not great as we could hear laughter from the guests staying next door. Would recommend this hotel to travellers who look for a central location and do not mind hearing some noise from pipes or guests chattering at night.
