Taormina Park Hotel

Stated there for 2 weeks in june, booked a superior room, I'm a solo traveller but expected a large room with double bed at least, was given a single room with single bed, the whole room was tiny with just enough room to move in, certainly not what I paid for, it was not superior, in fact it was like something from an old American movie in a roadside motel, I paid a lot of money for this trip as I have cancer and wanted what might be my last trip abroad yo be memorable, I was very disappointed. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Breakfast was terrible. Coffee machine was broken and at 8 am there was not enough food. No warm food whatsoever, no eggs, nothing. All trays were empty and not refilled. Even the water bottles were empty and no one replaced them during the 20 minutes I was there. They had only one kind of cheese and it looked and tasted bad.

Once we arrived we got informed badly about the parking, getting there is a challenge already, quite narrow. But still okay because that's to be expected. Than we got mislead to the wrong parking spot. Once we got into the room we found a bug in de bathtub. The view out of the back of the hotel is not fancy at all. But also doesn't get told whether or not we would get a nice view or not at all. The rooms feel dirty. And like I said bugs in the bathtube.. there is no way of getting a iron, whereas that is mandatory for a 4 star hotel... Next to that there is not a phone in the room. besides all of that in general Sicilian people don't like really want to deal with foreigners but in a 4 star hotel I would like to believe that is also what we kinda pay for. Whereas that is not what you get, guess that's the mentality.

I would like to share my dreadful experience, I had along with my friend.
As everyone else, we wanted to escape from all the Covid drama, and decided to go to Italy as we do not need to quarantine coming back to UK for 14 days. Me and my friend were super excited, as we booked this lovely (we thought so) 4 star hotel. On arrival we checked in and decided to rest, my friend started to each and some weird rashes appeared on her, next day came and my friend’s skin got worse; guess what I had rashes and felt something is crawling around my back and legs. No wonder …. it appeared to bed bugs, awful, imagine, 4 star hotel …. I called immediately to report, all I got was (they would be able to give me an extra night to stay at no cost), how would that be possible if I am flying same day when is my departure … eventually we managed to get the room move, we washed ourselves all the cloths , one by one, I could not sleep on bed through our stay, I and my friend were discussed … Most upset I am that we did not get any apology, and if I may say the answer I got from Front Office staff was ‘’They do not come from us, but they come from trains’’ are you serious. I and my friend have paid over £200 to deep clean our cloths and suitcases each, I would hate to take it home. Please google bed bugs and how bad they can be to you and how difficult is to get rid of them if you are having them at home. My friend is assigned to see a skin specialist, as bed bug bites have given her a terrible reaction. Booking.com you are selling this property to people around the world, really, please send your team to audit the property before you do, I would hate someone to be in same position as I and my friend. NEVER EVER again I will go back, no apology, no offering to clean our cloths. I am truly upset and disturbed . . .
