Reviews
As others have mentioned, the surroundings are not ideal, especially the people frequenting the square in front of the hotel, but we didn't go back late at night and didn't have trouble during our stay.
As our taxi drove up to the hotel from Turin train station, we realized that from the beautiful town center we were entering a very dodgy and bad area.
We arrived at the hotel and were greeted with the sound of gun fire, and gangs hanging around the street.
As we entered the hotel, the receptionist
immediately gave us a manipulative monologue about how sometimes people turn up worried about what they see outside but that he can assure us the hotel and area are safe.
My gut feeling was that I wasn't safe but I didn't want to make a fuss at first.
After our long journey we continued check in and entered our rooms (one room being for myself 7 & 8 year old children and the other room for my parents in their 70's)
The rooms were freezing cold, marble floors and only 1 small air conditioning unit which blew out hot air but is not appropriate for December climate, the got air did not reach the bathroom which was absolutely freezing.
I started to vision not showering for a week.
The sofa bed was ripped and unappealing.
There was no key for the safe in my room.
The reception area was also freezing and unwelcoming.
The first night at the hotel - my 70 year old father was kept up until 4am from the noise of the gang and drug dealers on the street below.
Unacceptable.
I didn't sleep from anxiety, that I brought my children to this place that didn't didn't feel safe.
In the morning, my father took my children down to breakfast and he was sent back up to the room as the breakfast room is too small to accommodate a certain amount of guests at the same time, and so we had to wait to be called down.
Once we went down to breakfast - we found a very unappetizing breakfast area,
The breakfast room was freezing, the waitress had a moody attitude, the coffee was tasteless and came to us cold and had to be heated twice.
I ate a slice of bread.
We left the hotel for our first day out and within 5 minutes my wallet was stolen.
Not surprising given the area we were staying in, which in many years of travel I have never experienced anything quite like this.
That was the last straw for me and we told the hotel that we wanted to check out.
We left and found alternative accomodation.
I understand that it is
Since leaving the hotel we have sent several emails to the the hotel to try and understand how we can resolve this and get reimbursed for the 6 days we didn't stay, we were ignored and we're not offered any sort of refund or customer service to rectify the situation.
This experience is certainly be one that I wish to forget.
The only thing that I am happy about is that I only stayed one night and not more.
Staying there would have absolutely ruined our time in Turin.
Thankfully we found an alternative hotel in the center of Turin which was an excellent location and great value for money.
The neighborhood maybe less so, just take the bus. It stops right in front of the hotel. The parking service offered was great. Would go again.
Seems the management wish to earn every possible extra €. I asked for 2 hours late checkout and they asked for extra money.. Of course it is their right, from commercial view, but from hospitality view I believe the management could offer it complimentary. All the hotels I've been do so for just 2 hours.
update on 6/12
I repeat it is not relevant that there was another booking and you had to clean it. You asked for extra money for checkout till 13.00hrs so you had the possibility to offer it complimentary if you wanted.
It is true I chose the hotel due to the event I attended closeby. It makes sense doesn't it?
If I knew the situation and location of the hotel I would have chosen another property and prefered to spend extra time to travel rather than staying at your hotel.
Yes, I returned to the hotel at 14.00hrs and you agreed to let me at the so called lobby till 15.00hrs on a chair and I managed to check some emails. You would have prefered to kick me out?
Are you sure you work in hospitality business?
