Antonios Villa Hotel

A bit dubative about our stay at this hotel. The accomadation looks nice overall but the room was not really clean (spots on the towels, bedsheets, in the bathroom and on the walls, we even found a big lump of hair in the toilet when arriving).
The room has never been cleaned once during our stay, they don't change towels or bedsheets everyday like you would expect with this kind of standing.
The 2 swimmingpools are nice but were not really enjoyable during our stay as there were construction works just next door that were really loud (Jan 24).
I don't know how long it will last but it looks like it just started, I know it is not the hotel's fault but I just want to let people know before they're booking the place so they can avoid the surprise.
However the hotel crew was really kind and helping, we asked their help several times to book activities and trips during our stay and they made the best of it.

Good location and close to all amenities and good value for money.

While I think it's not a bad place to stay in siem Reap, it might not be the best.
Overall I had some mixed feelings.
The room was OK but that's it, the lights in it did not set a good mood.
But mostly it wasn't as clean as you would expect, sheets and towels especially.
We stayed 4 nights and there haven't been one clean of the room.
Other than that it's well located, away from the noise of the city even though there was construction work 50 meters away but that's bad luck.
And the staff was very nice and caring.

Decent experience here. 5 minute walk from pub street, large rooms and good facilities (pool, bar, pool table) with pleasant staff.

Unfortunately two factors were disappointing. Firstly, the hotel needs some TLC. Room fridge not working, no remote for TV, light switches not working, tiles missing etc. You begin to wonder if any ongoing maintenance is being done. The hotel also doesn't do room service unless you leave your key into reception that day. My room was disappointing as although it had windows it had very limited natural light due to external walls.

Secondly was a rather bizarre issue where I asked at reception what hotel policy was on leaving a day early. I wasn't even asking for a refund - just trying to clarify there wouldn't be any extra costs and whether there would be someone at reception early enough to facilitate checkout. I thought this was a relatively straightforward query but it seems not - they had to ask the boss who was based in London and I had to follow up at the reception 3 times throughout the day only to ultimately be told "sorry" with no further explanation. Very odd as I would have thought the proposal was mutually beneficial but it seems not. To me this problem lies with management - have they not got any documented policies that staff can refer to? This relatively simple query shouldn't have taken multiple visits to reception and ~8 hours only to be told "sorry" with no explanation...
