Koulen Hotel in Siem Reap

It is a shame that I didn’t get welcome drink and the staff didn’t actively help with luggage when checking out. The hotel is a bit crowded and noisy. No fresh coffee for breakfast as well. It is an affordable choice for families and couples. The room is spacious but I don’t see any highlights during the experience.

Clean and big room. Staff are friendly and helpful. Prepared breakfast for us when requested as we have booked a sunrise ang kor wat tour. Location is about 15 mins walk away from old market and pub street. Hotel is located away from the bustling area but safe to walk at night. There is a heritage walk mall beside hotel with starbucks, swensen and a few restaurant. Breakfast spread is okay. There is a spa within the hotel but seems quiet with no one around. We contacted relax spa that offers pickup from hotel which is 3mins via tuktuk.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Coming from a nation with a cool climate, we appreciated the large rooms with good fans and quality air conditioning. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and they even provided us a cake to celebrate our anniversary. The pool was nice and we ate and the restaurant one night and thought about the food was good. We thought the location was good- We were a short walk from the Made in Cambodia Market and the Angkor National Museum, and about a ten minute walk from Pub Street and the Old Market. We were a short drive to Angkor Wat for the morning sunrise. We really enjoyed our experience here, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Wow. I am hard-pressed to nitpick anything wrong with this amazing hotel in the old French quarter of Siem Reap a few blocks north of Pub Street. Our 5-night stay was just shy of perfection. We were two couples, renting a 2bed/2bath suite, for a price that was exorbitant by Siem Reap standards, but more reasonable when split for 2 couples, and an outright steal by US standards. If the price suits you, I don’t think you can do better even at more ostentatious options.

Our rooms were enormous, almost laughably so. Clean, everything worked, sufficient plugs, AC, and water. The pool area was absolutely fantastic: there were all sorts of funky little corners and alcoves where you could feel like you had your own private pool space, or paddle across to make new friends. There were barely enough chairs for poolside lounging, but 2-for-1 drinks and a quiet shady vibe made the pool quite an attractive option after a hot sweaty day of temple climbing.

The breakfast was fabulous. For work, I have traveled around the world to innumerable luxury hotels with fancy breakfasts, and honestly, the Koulen Hotel buffet breakfast was as good as any, and better than most. Both Western and Asian, with a huge range of tasty options. We did not try the dinner restaurant.

The staff and service were also top notch. Nitpick: we did not like either driver that they arranged for us (one as temple guide, one as long-range transport).

The hotel location is good: near Pub Street, shops, the national museum, Wat Bo, and not too far from Angkor Wat and all the temple ruins. Also, on the right side of town for the silk worm factory (recommended) and various craft stores/exhibits. The neighborhood is slightly quieter and greener than the surrounding chaos.

The Koulen Hotel provides world-class luxury, comfort and service at a discount. In the heat and bustle of Siem Reap, it is a peaceful oasis to be treasured.

The hotel is very beautiful. The pool is beautiful, comfortable and at a good temperature. Beautiful large rooms, but the living room seems a bit empty due to its large area. Nice balcony, but the outdoor furniture is not very comfortable, it would be possible to put something better. Good breakfast, very friendly staff, ready to help with any question. Cleaning is so-so, the plumbing was not washed at all, an empty toilet paper roll was found under the bedside table, once they did not put water. Not enough forks / spoons / knives in the kitchen. Not bad SPA, reasonable prices, even for some services cheaper than in good massage parlors in the city, but the interior design is a little below the level of the hotel.

Rooftop sky bar and pool area is awesome. Extensive breakfast buffet.
Can organise guided tours to Angkor Wat and the other temples - highly recommended.
The staff are THE BEST. Always friendly and professional. Always smiling and happy in their jobs.

Great family hotel. Wonderful for older children - staff helpfulness, cleanliness, value for money were great. We had such a relaxing wonderful time we didn’t want to leave. The rooms outstretched our expectations. Only about a 10 minute walk to Old Market and Pub Street - quiet neighbourhood. Would definitely book and stay again. Also the food from the restaurant was delicious.

You have to walk a little from Pub Street and the Old Market. *It's about 10 minutes. It may seem far if you have small children, but it's actually not that far. There aren't many restaurants around, but there were burger shops and other delicious places. There was a store nearby where you could buy beer, coke, etc. The pool was nice.

The hotel is very distinctively decorated and has a beautiful swimming pool. The location is very good. There are delicious restaurants, coffee shops and juice shops a few minutes south. This hotel is especially suitable for four people to travel. There is a large living room for entertainment together, and it is close to the swimming pool. The balcony has a beautiful view. The one-bedroom and one-living room I stayed in this time is close to the road. The night in Siem Reap is very quiet and basically did not affect my sleep. The breakfast is delicious. I like cream tomato soup and coconut milk sago very much. The downside is that the bath water is hot and cold. There is an induction cooker and a microwave in the room, but there is no washing machine that tourists need.

Spent three days here with the family and the hotel staff were phenomenal, very informative in things to do in the local area, coordinating all travel, and even helped us track down a lost tablet my daughter left on the plane.

The room was modern, clean, and had great connectivity.

We also really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and my daughter loved spending any and all downtime in the pool.

A quick walk from several food options, laundry service, and a local market.

10/10 will stay again!
