I had a terrible experience at Central Hostel in Riga. From the moment I arrived, the receptionist was rude and unhelpful, answering my questions with a bad attitude. The hostel feels more like a shelter for drunk workers rather than a place for travelers. Many people seem to live there permanently, drinking and making noise at all hours. It’s not a great atmosphere if you’re looking for a good night’s sleep.
The kitchen is ridiculously small—if two or three people are inside, there’s no space left. Overall, the place is loud, uncomfortable, and poorly managed. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a decent stay in Riga.

Location is good, decoration with very good taste, nice yard for centrum.
Kitchen adequate . Staff (receptionist, service man )seem to be worn down. Too little personel and too long shifts and maybe working there for too long time. As a result not too friendly.. Has lost dynamics.. Also the elder working/homeless? men there don't seem to like other guests or are bored of them. I guess they have their food cupboard in kitchen which makes the kitchen even smaller. The place would have great potential if you could blow it full of youthful and dynamic vibe. I especially liked the colors of the rooms and some of the decoration. The owner clearly is a designer or artist or something like that.

The hostel itself was good. The bathroom was very clean and the free luggage room was very helpful (lots of the museums around do not allow you to take in bags). The room was adequate and it was pretty cheap last minute too. The kitchen was small, but still serviceable.

Booked a twin room which was €30 per night. Bed not the most comfortable but slept well anyway, shared bathroom was exceptionally clean and high quality! Kitchen small but seemed to be sufficient for the size as there were never too many people trying to use it. Free luggage room and walkable to the city centre.

Would not recommend to female travellers. Filled only with middle aged men, who appeared to be workers or otherwise unhoused. The area was also a little sketchy. I did not feel safe (I'm a confident traveller). Room also had an odor and the curtains did not block any light. Checked out early.

Worst hostel in RIGA !!
From the very unfriendly receptionist
To the bad installations, full of homeless unfriendly and weird people also very old people, it looks more like a nursing home than a Hostel. for young an energetic individuals, I would never come back, that's for sure, is definitely not worth the money.

This hostel is absolutely wonderful!
It is one of the best I have ever visited!
Everything is very clean and works well. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are very spacious. The bathrooms and showers are very clean and modern. Everything here is well maintained and well run. Every dormitory has a table and multiple chairs. Every bed has its own security locker. There is a kitchen with a stove, a fridge and a microwave.
There is a large common room to hang out in during the day. They even have a free computer for public use.
The hostel is within walking distance to the main train station, the main bus station, the largest shopping mall in Tallinn and it is also near a large grocery store.

Best Hostel I have stayed in (coming from someone who has been to 20 different countries in Europe).
Extremely clean, comfortable and they even give you a spare towel. Very reasonable price also.

Clean rooms and common areas. Check in was easy. In person Check in was 8-11am or late afternoon till 11pm.
Note there is a euro per person tourism tax.

It was really a nice experience to stay at this Hostel. The host is very nice and responsive. He is always quick in replying and try to help as much as possible. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The kitchen is very big and well equipped. The location is near to the bus stop and 25min walk to the railway station or bus stand. The best part the check in time is flexible depending upon the availability of bed so you can check in earlier if the bed is free. No hassle in extending the stay ...all you need to do is pay online and inform owner.
