I was surprised at the room that we stayed in as it looked a lot better than the ones on the site that we booked it through. I feel that this hotel is very good value for money in that the room was a good size and the bathroom was modern and clean.
The hotel is slightly out of the centre but only a small walk or bus ride into town. There are lots of restaurants and coffee shops super close to it. All of the staff we spoke to were nice and friendly. Would recommend staying here

I have mixed feelings about this hotel - some of the rooms are modern and lovely, some of them are soviet and have one-century-old layers of dust no exaggeration. Some of the staff are lovely and helpful, some are grumpy and rude... it's a lucky draw at this place! However, I would like to extend a special thanks to the manager Irina for being super friendly and helpful and resolving an issue with our agent although she did not need to and helping us with anything we asked for with a big smile on her face! 🙏

My experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing and frustrating. I had booked and paid for a suite based on the photos and descriptions provided on Booking.com. However, upon arrival, I was assigned a room completely different from what I had booked. The room I received not only did not match the images but also had serious issues: the toilet didn’t work and the refrigerator was broken.
I immediately reported these problems to the reception, but the responses I received were evasive and unsatisfactory. I was told to come back the next day to speak with the manager, who was never available. The suite I had booked was occupied by other guests, and despite promises, I never got access to the reserved room.
Even though I communicated all these issues and sent a complaint email, I never received a response. When I requested a refund, the hotel refused, claiming I had not followed up, despite their actions making it impossible to resolve the matter.
In summary, this hotel does not honor bookings, customer service is poor, and complaint management is completely absent. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a peaceful and professional stay.

Nice located hotel, old vibe and reasonable prices.
We booked the superior suite, which after the discount I got for my status at the platform, was such a great choice!
Big bedroom with huge bed, huge living room with couch, armchairs and a desk, 1 bathroom and 1 toilet.
I liked the old vibe, room was clean, staff was normal.

I spent one night in a hotel Viktorija and generally my experience was really good. Hotel is not modern but for sleeping for a reasonable price it's absolutely enough. What exceeded my expectation - I had slippers, and bed quality was really good (mattress, linens, bed size). Even I had small fridge there!
My room was next to elevator but nothing disturbed me till the noon. I have read about some smell - nothing, really nothing.
24/7 reception desk was welcoming, excellent communication (I arrived midnight).

It's okay if your expectations are low. My room had a dirty toilet when I checked in. No a/c or fans. Inexpensive for a reason - it's old. If you just need a room, this will do.

Hotel was about 20-30 min walk from old town. It was very cheap, about 20€ a night for a double room with ensuite. Room seemed clean, and towel provided smelled nice. Tv and wifi was working. No hair dryer in the room. Heating was ok, room wasn't cold when it was 1deg Celsius outside. Hot water works fine too but i couldnt get the water to switch to the shower head. When i first arrived, there were also two silverfish in the shower area.. Indeed sound from outside the room was very audible and i got woken up at 4am because some idiot banged some door. But i guess that's mostly the guests' fault.
There was room service but nothing to hang outside the door to say I did not want room service... It was shocking to come back to my room to find the window opened. While I did not lose any of my belongings, this experience was definitely off putting.
I guess the rooms vary much from the reviews. Probably depends on your luck. The reception area does smell bad though I would agree on that. Otherwise for my experience, it was definitely liveable and very worth the money.
Also note that they claim to need to pay some tax at the start of your stay. It was 2 euros.

Old hotel with some remodeled rooms. Location is central. Supermarket next door and nice café ilwoth breakfast in front. About 20 minute walk to bus station.

Hotel Viktorija really is a treasure. It's the 3rd time I've stayed here, and this time, since I booked far in advance, I scored the large suite on the top floor, the room with the rotunda. It's huge - must be 40 m2 or more. And as I had hoped, a fabulous space - from the tiles in the wooden floor to the faux flame hearth to the generous and warm carpet. The sofa folds out to become a comfortable double bed, to complement the queen bed, so the suite will accommodate 4, easily. A small fridge for food - right across the street from the hotel's entrance is an Asian fusion restaurant (very tasty) and the Cozy cafe on the corner, also across the street, opens at 07:00 for breakfast. Apparently Viktorija offers free coffee/tea at any time, but I've actually never asked! Wifi flawless, btw.

It was quite old, smelly, there was a loud main road next to it. The walls are almost paper thin. While it did quiet down around midnight, the noises of other people activities were quite distracting and overwhelming. The cold winter air was coming from the "vintage" windows, making the room and floors stiff with cold, but the staff were kind enough to lend us a tiny, loud heater. Me and my good friend spend there about 6 days, and only once did the cleaning service come in and take care of the muddy, snow and salt stained floor of the tiny rooms corridor, and trash. There was also one change of towels. The bedding was clean and alright, but the laid out extra "blankets" were the same size and material as the hanged curtains in the room. Literally. The Wifi and TV were just fine, but the hot water was quite hot and, compared to how the same water in cold temperature flowed, it took quite the time to wash properly with that small pressure of the water. Luckily enough, the location grants few food and clothing shops nearby, delicious street food places to cheer oneself up with.
All in all, it can be lived in for couple of days, but surely do not suggest for light sleepers, noise sensitive gals and pals and easily-triggered-by-living-space people.
