It is supposed to be a five star hotel, unfortunately it is showing signs of fatigue. The tiles in the bath room are chipped and has become hard to clean as a result. The carpet feels old as well. However, service remains good and the breakfast offers a good choice. There is a small private beach which allows bathing in the sea with fish swimming around you, which was very pleasant.

We visited this hotel last year and loved it. However we’ve recently been back and had to wait till well after 3pm for our room (check in 3pm)which meant we wasted a lot of our first day. Also bar service was poor. It seemed there was no one in charge even though there were plenty of staff and those making drinks had little training, particularly if we ordered cocktails. This hotel is in a good location, not far at all from central Valletta. This is definitely the hotel’s biggest selling point. One point to note is that there is a lot of uphill walking/ steps to get anywhere from the hotel so bear this in mind if this could be an issue for you, particularly in the heat/humidity. Great 5 night stay. We used the spa and indoor pool daily and the grounds and outdoor heated pool are simply fabulous. You need to book the spa but it is included for guests not charged extra like some hotels. The breakfast was very, very good. The staff at this hotel are truly outstanding and really represent the very best in guest focussed hospitality.

The Phoencia is a wonderful hotel. All of the staff are courteous, efficient and friendly, and they all seem happy in their work. The rooms are spotless and the restaurant is excellent. A special mention to the restaurant breakfast staff who work very hard and were very busy on Sunday, but made the time to clear a prepare a table in the conservatory.

Wonderful panoramic view. Staff very accommodating and enjoyed stopping off for a coffee or two between work meetings. I didn't stay at the hotel so I cannot comment on that aspect.

Great location but the single room I stayed in was very basic and a bit grungy. However, the ensuite had it's own water heater, so I never had any problems with the water unlike other guests in more expensive suites.

Cozy, elegant, and sleek. That’s how I would describe the room that I stayed in. The king-size beds, the absolutely gorgeous antique patterned tiles, bespoke urban furniture, and luxurious bathroom equipped with gorgeous rain shower are fit for a First Lady.. Great location, warm staff, beautiful room. Walkable to everything that matters in Valletta. It’s also near the Valletta-Sliema Ferry Terminal. I also loved that the bus terminal is about 10 mins away. No complaints. Malta is magnificent!!

Had a wonderful stay here: staff is terrific, location is the best and the hotel is very clean (cleaning lady is small but great at the same time!). The single room I had was a bit low on the windows (only a small window to the air duct) but that is the only minus I could think of. I definitely go again here!

I stayed with Rose for six weeks. She is an amazing host - very kind and considerate. The studio room had amazing beach views, big kitchen/lounge/dining area for the size of the apartment. All appliances worked and in good order. I had to isolate for 10 days, and Rose was very helpful in getting me supplies and checking in to make sure I was ok! Would stay again.

The furniture matched the „old style“ in its dark wooden appearance but, unfortunately, all furniture showed its age due stains and damages that are not taken care of. The location of the hotel was ideal for exploring Valletta with everything you want to see within walking distance. However, the hotel itself is dated and a little rundown.
