We were very happy with our booking at the Palazzo Paolina in Valletta. We had three rooms for a group of six friends. Pluses: Plug sockets either side of both beds Loads of mirrors Great walk in shower Large bathroom with robes and slippers. Comfy beds 9 hangers in wardrobe Safe in room (no charge) Good air con (not in bathroom) Very old historic building Central position Breakfast included - excellent choice of different foods. A free bottle of water each every day Bathroom has toiletries and hairdryer Quiet hotel Coffee machine and kettle plus tea, coffee etc Really friendly staff Minuses: Could do with another couple of hooks in the bathroom for hand towels. Would definitely recommend.

Just come back from a 4 night stay in this hotel and have to say we had a wonderful stay, the staff were very helpful every time you asked for something, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was lovely . The breakfast was in the basement and it felt like you was in a cave really added character the breakfast was delicious every morning and plentiful from cereal,yogurts ,cold meats and cheeses, cooked food and lots of pastries set you up for your day ahead . The hotel is in a fantastic location for getting about and very close to lots of wonderful restaurants.

Lovely hotel in an excellent location, beautifully decorated blending old and new. Staff very friendly. Comfortable room overlooking St Paul's St with its own small balcony & ensuite with power shower. Breakfast in the basement had a wide variety to choose from, including cereals, cheeses, meats, smoked salmon as well as bread & pastries. Short walk to the harbour, main shopping and eating areas with the excellent restaurant beati paoli opposite the hotel. We used public transport from the airport and around the island, which although crowded at times was very cost effective and easy to use.

It's an old and small hotel.
I think it's well-cleaned.
I booked it because I thought the beautiful wallpaper and light blue door in the photos looked cute and castle-like.
It's great that it's so close to the city of Valletta, but there are a lot of steps to get into the hotel, so it's hard to carry a heavy suitcase, and the front desk is also very small! About 4 tatami mats...?
The room interior was normal, and it was small and hard to open my suitcase.
I remember the price was about the same, so it might be better to stay in a suite. I couldn't make a reservation.
The front desk staff were kind!
They booked the ferry to Gozo Island for me, gave me advice on sightseeing plans, and were happy to store my luggage after check-out. (It seems like you leave it in the corner of the front room, so you need to lock it)

Massive shout out to your reception girls Jelena and Aleksandra. Your hotel is beautiful but these two ladies make your hotel first class. They go out of thier way to help you with anything you need, planning trips, teaching you routes and organising drivers.
They are a absolute credit to your establishment and deserve all the praise and credit that comes thier way.

The location was good,but we thought it was a hotel with amenities such as a bar etc. There were no facilities only a breakfast room in the basement. The room was adequate but could have been a room anywhere in the world no character. The receptionist was pleasant but had only been there for a short time ,so gave us basic information. The breakfast staff were lovely and smiley. The alarm went off one late evening which was very scary as there were no staff on the premises,we stood outside feeling very cold for about twenty minutes before the manager turned up to investigate.

Very well located near to many restaurants, stores, attractions and a 6 minutes walk to the bus terminal, making easy to explore Malta by public transportation. Staff very friendly and helpful. We stayed in room 202, a spacious room, very well lighted, with comfortable beds and pillows, and a nice traditional Valetta balcony. It was a nice touch having courtesy water, tea and coffee in the room. The hotel is very well decorated, with many pieces of art. The breakfast was delicious and with a huge variety of food and drinks. Like any other old building, it needs some small repairs. Get a better water isolation, it comes out in the shower, making the floor a little bit wet. We had a problem with the toilet flush, but it was repaired the same day. Some days there was a sewage smell from the toilet.

Reading old comments, assume that the hotel used to be nice 5-6 years ago. Now it’s a complete disaster. Cleanliness is a big issue! Rooms are not vacuumed at all. Terrible smell everywhere! Beds are not comfortable. Breakfast is my personal nightmare, it is in basement with no windows, no light, no fresh air, very small and closed area, so I was panic and wanted to run away. The food choice is very limited, the quality of food is very poor. Cheep hotel standard food (I know from the inside because I’m in n hospitality industry for many years). It’s a small hotel, so they could afford to purchase more quality product… in general the hotel vibes made me feel i want to leave the hotel as soon possible, and never ever go back again.
