Hotel Castille

Only used the cafè and toilets here. Toilets were filthy. Paper on floor. No bn for paper although it said do not put in toilet. Smelly toilets too. Cafe was nothing special, definitely not a good variety of cakes

Number one - make sure when you stay they have hot water!!! Outdated rooms. Uncomfortable beds. Old fashioned locks. Staff is great!
Whomever owns the property really need to update the rooms facilities.
I hope the review does not reflect on staff because it’s the owner who needs to update the hotels pipes, beds, locks and furnishings.

On entering the hotel I realised the mistake I made, but booked to be near the church for a wedding. The lobby area is dark and dingy and tired looking. The room was spacious, but very basic and outdated. Rickety old furniture and tired freestanding light, old TV. Not been painted in years! The bathroom is outdated. The shower poor, water flow weak. The sink wobbles. A disgusting, filthy plastic toilet brush and holder ...so unhygienic! Went to breakfast once! Choice of hot buffet area and continental. I have never seen grey bacon, grey sausages, grey eggs! The pineapple was brown. The orange juice brown! The meats, cheese and bread poor quality. This is unacceptable in a country with such great produce and amazing maltese bread. The dining area is in need of repairs, windows filthy, plants dying, plaster cracking and generally grubby. Oh and please tell your staff to never assume a guest doesn't understand Maltese...reception made a comment about my husband not realising he is Maltese! Such a shame this building has been left to deteriorate, I say this as a I adore vintage.
